...I don't know who taught you otherwise but Zildjian is the number one cymbal brand in the world. Sabian is second because they are good but not as good as Zildjian. And Paiste is third. God only knows why. If I was given 10,000 dollars to spend on cymbals, but I could only buy Paiste, I wouldn't take the money. That's how bad I think they are

he's just trolling you dude. mapex meridian are a lot better than other drums in the same price range. i use mapex m series (a couple model generations before meridian) and they're great drums. don't worry about it

Anyone notice how many people go for that twitchy, slightly displaced "funk" beat when they can't think of anything else to play? Enough already. It's like they're saying "Yeah, i got pocket; I know what Steve Gadd's all about" then three seconds into the 'groove' they let fly with ten minutes of tripletst. I play drums and I'm kinda shit, but - jesus - am I the only one to find this abit boring? The girl @ 3.28 and boy @ 5.11 were the best. Seriously. Why? Coz they look like they're having fun.

i prefer paiste, but also like other brands like sabian or istanbul agop and so on...

I did pro sound for 9 yrs. and Paiste caught my ear the most of any cymbal.

Not to say that there aren't lots of other great sounding ones out there but that's what I use on my kit.

I want some suggestions here :) I want to add a 14" floor tom , I have the 5 piece kit in black forest cherry , And i cant find one. Any idea which floor tom would be the best option which mixes up well with the kit ? And some nice colour too ! I live in india so its very tough to find one here ! Suggest please ! I'm a metal drummer so i like deep sounds.

I have been drumming for 30years. played alot of drums. discovered 5 years ago the distinct "Mapex maple" sound. I dont know about mapex's other shells BUT THE MAPLE SHELL ARE THE MOST AWESOME, EASIEST TUNED SOUND I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I bought the Saturn Pro Series Maple with the nutural waxed finish. I fall in love with these drums over & over everytime I play them. THERE REALLY IS A SOUND DIFFERENCE FROM ONE TOP BRAND TO ANOTHER IN MAPLE! Most durable gigable mounting hardware around too!

I own a Saturn-set also.. Maybe it's the two inner ply's of walnut together with the maple that create the distinctive Saturn-sound.. Awesome drums!
