I think this is amazing, actually. I am a Full-time waiter and I do not feel threatened whatsoever. Some may think this will destroy the serving jobs in the world but I think it will only improve its worth. I don't think many people would prefer this over formal service. I know this for a fact that many people generally dine to be waited on by someone as opposed to cooking a meal. However, Kudos to this new technology.
@MrAnthonyFeor You nailed it there, its about the service vs the food (though the food, too). The free market response to inefficient restaurants is automation, and the response to a lack of service is a restaurant where 3 waiters serve you at the same time for uber service.
@martydrooo I never understood why restaurants do that. Why have three servers serve you at once? Where's the personal touch in that? I prefer one waiter at a time. But that's just me.
@MrAnthonyFeor I guess I just mean stellar service, I agree that 3 waiters may not be ideal but I guess I said "3 waiters" to try and emphasize the level of service the restaurants would provide. Perhaps, waiters would only serve a few tables instead of a bunch, in order to provide better service.
@TheKitkat132 Why do you want a job? Especially one that does nothing but place you in a position of servitude? Wouldn't you rather be doing what you really want to be doing? Regardless of what that is? That slave mentality has you locked in I see.
Hey "Sliding Rail"....Can I get another Beer......(oh wait a second) you are a sliding rail made out of metal and cant talk...Hey metal rail, my soup is not hot enough...Oh wait a second, you are metal...and cannot talk....Thanks for the great service metal rail...should I tip you in Iron?
hi tech?!? Its pretty poor for german engineering, a plastic tube that slides down a rail, why not have wheels with bearings and some kinda of friction speed limiter.
I would hardly say this is HIGH TECH. This is just a gimmick. What's so high tech about a few ramps? Japan has been using conveyor sushi for years. Way more efficient than ramps...which get stuck sometime.
People need a job, because they need money, people need a job so they can provide for them selves and they're family. We are all Wage Slaves.
I'm talking about Sharing the world's resources with all the earth's inhabitants, without having some price tag on something. It's not that hard to share.
It's not that hard to empower and free people from the hard labor jobs.
Especially if Free energy, Food, water, and housing was available to people, then they're lives would change.
why can't we just make everything automated and get rid of money and profit, then our civilization would really grow big time, and become much easier to live, this is just one example of phasing out old jobs that are not needed anymore. Soon everyone's job will be phased out, Doesn't it make sense to just get rid of the old monetary system?
Isn't the reason why we are here on planet Earth is to create a paradise type reality? Aren't we suppose to be bettering our society instead of staying in the old mindset of fighting, conflicting with one another, hate, destruction, greed, materialism and so forth?
Then again it doesn't matter the old monetary system is collapsing and millions of people should know this by now.
Either we Evolve and change the System or we Suffer with Pain and Fear.
@bigsteelguy not soon, but we do seriously need to consider how the system will break down completely once we reach the point where nothing actually needs to be done by the vast majority of citizens. If it even allows us to get there.
@bigsteelguy hey kudos to you! By any chance did you watch Peter Joseph's "Where are We Now"? He mentions this restaurant in minute 23 of that lecture video. Yes the monetary system is outdated and needs to go.
@bigsteelguy I think we're complicating ourselves and giving ourselves the illusion that we need all of this when in the end you can simply grow youre own crap in youre yard and live happily off the simplest things. You can argue all you want on which has the most positive impacts but surely simplicity has the less negative.
@SQLinjected Well he is right. It will eventually happen. It's inevitable. Back in the days 99% were farmers. When that was automated most people started to work in factories.. now factories are pretty much automated and the majority of people work in the service sector. The more jobs that get automated the closer we get to a collapse of the monetary system.

Insert coin, appears 3D cows -> slice it with virtual knife-> immediately your plate is full of instant pills with steak-flavor mixed together with Coca Cola, so we don't need butcher, waiter and cashier anymore, GREAT!!!
Lol the first thing that came to my mind was.... "What happens if they spill their drink on the screen?" Lol hope the screen is waterproof or something rather... But otherwise this could have the potential to become an everyday thing around the world! I would love to dine at a restaurant like this...
This provides new more technological jobs which are less labor intensive.
