The code for 6 is thin thin thin wide, depending if the numeral is on the left or right of the middle guard bar (thin, thin, thin), the code will be represented by line, space, line, space, OR, space, line, space, line. But the guard bar cannot mean 6, because it's read by the machine (thin, thin, thin) the same whether you read left to right or right to left (upside down or rightside up). There is no 666 in the UPC, it's a misperception.
