@sara134100 Hi honey, do you have an email address or something so I can mail you the instructions? When I click on your user name it says channel not available.
@Ambiguos3 Hi, I am in the process of moving right now and my knitting stuff is still at the other house. It'll then take me a sec to do a part 2. I can send you written instructions if you like.
ummm this is my fisrt time trying to knit a baby blanket and iht is 4 my lil sister and i love ur video i think it will really help me but i kno this ? mite sound stupid but this is my first time scence u deleted prt 2 do think u can explain ummm after this prt wat do we do wen this needle is like u kno filled or wat ev?"??
@Weewinkle7 Can you also inbox me the second step? I'm also trying to make myself a baby blanket and I have never knitted before. I think your videos go into more depth than most of the other how to vids.
@Weewinkle7 were is part 2 i just spent 2 hours knitting the first part and I am really pissed off that there is no part 2 if you are not going to put it up delete the first one so no one waste there time starting something that they can not finish , it would be the right thing to do.
@Missjackson0709 Sorry deleted it, don't know when i'll put it up but this vid is an excellent starting off point. Also, there are other baby blanket vids on youtube as well as instructions on the net, sorry for the inconvenience! Later! :)
Red Heart Yarn is way too rough for baby blankets; great for scarves, horrible for blankets. It's cheaper, but it's really uncomfortable for a baby. I would strongly suggest Caron Simply Soft, I Love This Yarn, or Yarn Bee Baby Bee.
@yabbledudet It will work but your stitches will be much smaller and your blanket will take MUUUUUUCH longer to knit! It will be beautiful but you have to have a lot of patience. The bigger size needle you can get the better! I use size US 10 here, I would even suggest a size US 12.
I appreciate the information that you shared...Here are some suggestions: your voice was somewhat garbled not clear, listen to it before releasing the video. Also try to have your camera over your shoulder so that we are looking at your knitting the same way in which you are looking at it. Thanks!
@Trixei85 uh uh, no. The blanket length is determined by how long you knit for. The longer you knit (many days and weeks, even months) the longer your blanket gets because your knitting stacks many rows on top of each other which makes the blanket longer. Once you start knitting you'll get the idea.
@Weewinkle7 wait but won't it just get longer? doesn't the needle length determine how wide the blanket will be? i use 10 1/2 (6.5mm) needles and they aren't long enough to make a blanket I think.....what size needles did you use?
@twilightbabyz92 Are you just kissing up to me so I'll answer your question???? JK No yes you can make a simple garter stitch blanket. It's much easier too. :)
@jonnycortes If you are consistent but average about 2 weeks. A week if you're fast and a month to 2 months if you're a super slow poke like me and keep stopping. But for real, I knit half way on my second baby blanket in 2 days (really 5- 7 hours of knitting cuz I only knit like 3 hours straight each day). My point is, if I'd pick the thing up more often I'd be done in about a week :)!
@nanidiamond Red Heart Super Saver yarn. You can get it at Michaels or any other crafts store. I've never seen this shiny variety in Walmart, they tend to carry mostly the cottony Red Hearts but check still!
You don't have 2 use the size ten -- You can use bigger and it'll knit up faster! (or smaller if you want, but that will take longer to knit) But if you use bigger the blanket will be lacier and probably less warm for baby so you decide what you want. I just tell you size ten cuz that's what I used, in case you want to replicate my blanket. But the size 10 is just what I got off the internet when I found the pattern. I actually changed the pattern but kept the size the same.
You only knit and purl each stitch on the edges. On the body of the blanket you knit 1 entire row (127 stitches all the way across) then purl 1 entire row to create the stockinette stitch. See Pt. 2 for links to vids on how to do the seed and stockinette stitch. Thanks for watching!

how long were the needles you used to make the example baby blanket? mine are 10 inches long but I think it's too short =S

@redsxncubs23 Ten inches should be fine. Use a size 10 pair, that's what I used.

all you do is put each skein into a container and set them on the floor. I use ice crean containers.
