Try educating yourself. There are about half the states where they are legal. Then every state they are legal for law enforcement, military, and one armed persons.
I know that. They are illegal in around 30 states. Some states have laws where you just can't have them at all, and some allow you only to own them, and somw allow public carry. In my state, they are illegal for public carry. Can you still send one to me, though?
@bobbythecoolest And now you are blocked for being a moron asshat. This had nothing to do with you and you are obviously to stupid to comprehend anything so you don't need a knife at all, stick to your crayons.
I've always been impressed by the mechanisms on these double action knives. I couldn't resist opening one when I got my hands on it. The mechanism is so simple, and yet it manages to shoot out the blade, and retract it just as fast, using only the very small amount of energy supplied by your thumb. Amazing when you think about it.
Depends who you are. They are legal everywhere for law enforcement, military, people with one arm. Then the one arm aspect also carries to people who have had strokes and only use of one side of their body, people with Parkinson's, MS, and any medical condition that limits motor skills. Some states allow firefighters, EMT, and rescue workers full access to them as well.
@Roadsideimports Thanks for the comment. I am not handicapped in any way or an emergency personnel. However, I will be buying the Schrade legal version OTF tomorrow.
No problem. You can call the state patrol or state trooper, whatever your state calls them and ask questions and call your local police. Ask them about the knife laws and this way you will know what they enforce. They do answer these questions, you might have to leave a message but they do return calls on these issues.
what is the official maker of this knife for example i found this at uniqueblade for 80 dollars, bladeplay for 90 and yours for a hundred something, are they different they all look they same and have the same design on the clip
Wrong bladeplay has been sold out for 6 months and they listed them for $100. Unique blade lists them for $129. If things are on sale that might change things a bit. These are not supplied anymore and only a few people have them.
There are two models one has 2.5 mm screws and is made much better than the one with smaller screws. You have to pull the screws out to see which one you got. So you have to know which sellers got what, the screws are the give away.

And lets be fair the Benchmade Infidel is the FORD PINTO.
A little over priced knife. Get a KA-BAR military fighting knife. Size small or large. This KA-BAR is a good to use if you get attacked by a chip monkey or pit bull dog. I hate evil monkies! Monkies have ripped the faces off two or three people in the U.S.A. Sad fact.
I got very lucky today, met a rug dealer today @ the marketplace who just happened to be army, young guy too, and he pointed me out to a premium seller who just happened to be carrying one of these bad boys for a price to low to mention heheh.
Rest assured this is one sexy-ass knife, very beautiful if you can get one.
O and for those of you who are worried, they deploy very fast; camera doesn't do it justice. You wouldn't want to test it with your digits thats for sure.
a stilleto means a long thin blade, this is an otf which means out the front, most people refer to the italian style switchblade as a stilleto because of its long blade style
imscarface ur wrong dude a stiletto is a type of dagger even the word stiletto comes from the latin word stilus witch means a pointed instrument a true stiletto should have no blade stilettos were carried by knights in the middle ages and had more of a stake look to them becuz they were used to go through the armor of knights they had no blade becuz the blade would catch on the armor and if it made it in it would be to dull to go in again
yeah your definitley right dude but im just saying that they refer to a italian switchblade as a stilletto because the stilletto has that long dagger blade aswell
It's a nice knife, and I don't know if it's just your camera, but deployment seems to be a bit slow, all the same, I wouldn't mind owning one like that.
The Makora II is awesome, it is huge that is for sure. Well made and has a decent price to it. Let me know when you are ready for it and I'll get you a good price on it.
Now as far as the Thrasher, it is a good knife for the price. I have alot of Marines that like it because they tend to loose things and this is cheap enough not to worry about it as much as a Microtech. It is good quality and probably the best OTF in that price range.
hey mate. Whats your beef with benchmade? I have the mini-reflex and its a great knife. Have you been burned by the benchmade reps or something?. I assume you are talking about the infidel? Ive read great reviews on it and although Ive personally never seen it, It seems to be another great quality benchmade U.S.A product,. Ive seen your negatives statements on benchmade before but cant understand it. The infidel seems on par with M.O.D and Pirahna even..
No way the Infidel is a piece of shit, watch the OTF Papertest I did and see for yourself why it is a piece of junk, then I am going to post a video specifically for this piece of crap to show all military personnel that it is junk.
go lucky oops, Its not a safety device, its just that the spring powered firing mechanism is not powerful enough to stab you. Even microtechs and the other great OTFS stop in their tracks when they meet any resistance during deployment
No it does not have a safety, however due to its design with the trigger on the spine and the fact that it takes quite a bit of force to slide the trigger forward to deploy the blade, the risks of accidental firing are reduced and really much safer than a design with one on the top plate mount. Mainly because the top mount has the possibility of your hand brushing it more so when in a pocket than the spinal triggers. But even the top mount trigger take quite a bit of force to trigger.
I just got this knife! Completely AWESOME!!!!! With OTF knives you get what you pay for, but this one is very very good quality for the price! This is my favorite knife you really have to hold it and try it. I was afraid it would fire accidentally in my pocket but it has a safety to dislodge it while firing, a little poke that barely goes thru two sheets of paper. This one is dual action, so you don't have to worry about a spring storing energy that will smash you. I love this knife! AWESOME!!!!
I have also found that there are gun dealers in USA willing to post a .22 or 9mm pistol either whole, or in pieces to my address, no questions asked, and for less money than it cost to buy a Microtech autoknife. Im guessing that this is where the majority of illegal firearms in our Country comes from.
I originally thought this was the best idea also, but I havnt seen a microtech or protech sold in kit form, also id rather not assemble them myself, Id rather have a professional do this. My research shows that all our international mail comes through the mail center at auckland Airport, They deal with 250,000 packages per day, All of these have sniffer dogs cover them, for drugs food and plant or animal life but less tha 0.5 % are xrayd or checked in any way. so I take my chances
Yes,Im a law abiding citizen in every way, but I will not abide by stupid knife laws. Everytime i order autoknives from USA,Im abit worried that customs will intercept. But ive had 7prohibited packages sent to my address so far.Including one last week which contained two autos, my 2nd godfather (tuxedo), and my new favourite,The microtech makora II.I just love this knife. These 2 knives cost me 1200 NZD,So it was a big risk, but once again, they breezed through customs and now sit in my collection
And here in New Zealand no Auto knifes are legal. Stupid laws. Its not the knife that kills but the maniac on the end of them . I have imported 4 so far. The microtech scarab, the godfather, an itallian stilleto with a damascus blade and a benchmade mini reflex auto, and our shithouse customs havnt bothered to stop any from getting through.
Well you got to remember that 95% of knife crimes are pre-meditated so the psycho really has thought about it and wants to use a knife because it is a personal attack and the nut job wants the victim to remember it. On top of this most knife crimes involve kitchen knives and machetes because fixed blade knives are much more tolerant for full attacks. Infact even in the military fixed blades are used in hand to hand combat. So this notion that automatics are evil and bad just isn't the truth.
In Germany it is the same. "out of the Front" Knives are illegal. one-hand-knives are also forbidden since 1. april 2008. So I am not allowed to carry my Spyderco but: I CARRY ON.
That's why it takes a great deal of resistance to deploy the blade and why the trigger is on the spine of the handle. This design is the best for safety in mind, so let your fears of loosing your nut sack be best sorted with dreams instead.
Na, they are pretty pussy. not made for holding against something and then deploying blade. , they just stop in their tracks. OTFs are cool, i have a microtech scarab , but my fav knife is my protech godfather. Thats a beaut.
It is not illegal, it is restricted. There is a big difference so don't make stupid comments on subjects you know nothing about. Never go full retard.
Halo's are not made any more so they are collector's items. One could even argue that the design was really stolen from Robbie Dalton's Ranger model from the early 1990's. Dalton only makes 100 or so of his items and then moves on to his next project making his items really collectible and unique. Microtech makes awesome stuff as well and since they quit making knives so that they could produce their guns instead makes the knives hard to come by and the price goes up.
All OTF models have blade play, some are so minute that it is so precise that it is not present. Thats why you pay $600 plus for them. This is a relatively good model for the price.
The Thrasher is heavier and has a glass breaker on the butt of the handle, it has a sanded insert grip in the handle as well, and it is a dual edged blade as well, which you must take that into consideration. The Lightning mode that is made in Taiwan is the better Lightning model, it has a standard single edge with a texture handle. So they are not comparable because they have different features but they are both made well but depends what you plan to do with it and its function for you.
How would you say the quality and durability of this knife compares to that of the Lightning? I'm also wondering if this is built by the same company as the people who make the Lightning. Does it feel like it has a better action? Sorry for the rapid fire questions but I've always wondered if these two knives were built by the same Taiwanese manufacturer or if the "Thrasher" was much better quality.
These Knives are GREAT!!!I bought one at a gun show about a month ago & it has worked stellar!I paid a little too much for it & wish I had found your site first, but its an awsume peice & highly recomended.
DUDE you're a genius. Maybe I'm an American but also Scottish there dingdong. Ah dah Mexican-American right, Scottish-American what the hell is that. I was born in Scotland and I am Scottish, my mother was American born Scottish first generation and well I got born back on the isle. Does that not mean I can't have pride for my heritage. Why don't you go question your own Patriotism and stop insulting people who show there pride.
Yeah that is my hat and unfortunately your are now blocked from anything on my stuff because you don't value me as a store or what I offer and like to promote other sites, well which isn't really cool especially when this is my content and I sell knives. So now you'll have to take your comments elsewhere and not participate on mine anymore.
Shitty isn't justified. It is a reproduction model which is mass produced and is still of good quality. Hand made versus machined made is quite a different comparison, $500 to $600 for an original versus less than $100 for a reproduction. It like comparing a Rolls Royce to a VW Jetta and saying that the Jetta is a piece of shit. Not so just in a different class. Microtech is in a league all by its own as the supreme best but it comes with a steep price because they're hand made in the US.
No, certain states restrict them to law enforcement and military. There are federal restrictions on them crossing between state boarders as well. Illegal no, limitations yes. Go to AssistedKnife and I have the Knife Laws listed at the top of the page.
Hey roadsideimports I found this video by accident but I really like this knife. Do you have some sort of waiting list for this item or could you maybe notify me when you have them in stock again?
I like you Roadsideimports... you know alot about your products... i regret not odering from you.. I will from now on.. Im likin the musik by the way...
Looks like it would brake on the first stab. But I bet it could take a lot more am I right? It looks kinda flimsy on the video. But that might just be the light. Looks good though.
It is a glass punch. It is to break glass on a window, such as if an accident occurred a first responder can use the but of the knife to break glass to get to a victim if need be. Some contend that it is a skull splitter, which true you could use it in that manner in a military application in hand to hand. But the true intention was to be a glass punch.
Depends. They are legal. They are restricted by interstate commerce laws and the Federal Switchblade Act. This law only limits sales across state lines. Sales in side the state has no Federal Acts. Many states these are legal in and some even legal to carry. The Fed restrict the national level of distribution but the state laws take precedent on the state level the county and city as with everything in law.
No, go read Penal Code 653. Don't talk about things you don't know anything about. Switchblades are legal in California but there is a restriction on carrying them. There is a 2" law. You can only carry a 2" or smaller automatic knife in California. They are legal on private property the law is about carrying them. Go read the law.
but even if they are legal its kinda scary to put it in a tight jean pocket since most full autos dont have the safety on them.but you can always get a spring assist with those flippers on the side because it feels like the switchers
Hello, what or are there any otf knifes that are good but are under a hundred dollars? Thank you for you time.

thanks for clearin tht up for me id really hate to lose my nuts
XxMarines42xX 3 years ago 5
haha made me laugh
GoneGG 3 years ago
Na, they are pretty pussy. not made for holding against something and then deploying blade. , they just stop in their tracks. OTFs are cool, i have a microtech scarab , but my fav knife is my protech godfather. Thats a beaut.
3rdinfantrydivision 3 years ago
too bad it's illegal :(
bunnykill100 3 years ago
It is not illegal, it is restricted. There is a big difference so don't make stupid comments on subjects you know nothing about. Never go full retard.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
It is illegal in most places, but still i've bought knives off of you so im not complaining
shortbusrocks46 2 years ago
ya we all can see that when you slide the switch the blade deploys, once or twice is plenty.
secretbase420 3 years ago
how much would this go for? and could i get a just as good blade for less?
WarrenZevonFan 3 years ago
This is the less, go buy the Microtech Scarab and it is $600, that should put things into context
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
how can u afford all these
like i want a microtech halo 3
cozziwong 3 years ago
I deal knives, so what do you expect, how can car dealers afford all those cars on the lot?
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
lol good point man but why do halo's cost like 500$ do u get a dealers discount?
cozziwong 3 years ago
Halo's are not made any more so they are collector's items. One could even argue that the design was really stolen from Robbie Dalton's Ranger model from the early 1990's. Dalton only makes 100 or so of his items and then moves on to his next project making his items really collectible and unique. Microtech makes awesome stuff as well and since they quit making knives so that they could produce their guns instead makes the knives hard to come by and the price goes up.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
id love to buy a halo do you sell to MI?

kostya121212 3 years ago
Is there any blade play on this model?
imsorryfortomorrow 3 years ago
All OTF models have blade play, some are so minute that it is so precise that it is not present. Thats why you pay $600 plus for them. This is a relatively good model for the price.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
Wow is this a scarab clone?
immortalhxl 3 years ago
It is.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
any of them
dethklock1 3 years ago
The Thrasher is heavier and has a glass breaker on the butt of the handle, it has a sanded insert grip in the handle as well, and it is a dual edged blade as well, which you must take that into consideration. The Lightning mode that is made in Taiwan is the better Lightning model, it has a standard single edge with a texture handle. So they are not comparable because they have different features but they are both made well but depends what you plan to do with it and its function for you.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
which one is of higher quality, the lighting or this one?
dethklock1 3 years ago
Depends which Lightning model.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago

Ulti13 3 years ago 3
How would you say the quality and durability of this knife compares to that of the Lightning? I'm also wondering if this is built by the same company as the people who make the Lightning. Does it feel like it has a better action? Sorry for the rapid fire questions but I've always wondered if these two knives were built by the same Taiwanese manufacturer or if the "Thrasher" was much better quality.
xilix 3 years ago
I assume thats duble-edged?
FinalFront 3 years ago
Yes, this model is double edged.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
I cant tell is this and Microtech Ultratech?
bluz0777 3 years ago
No, this is a clone of a Scarab, wrong model, and wrong maker, on the right track though.

I have a question about the blade. What kind of material is the blade made up of? The coating looks like it'd feel like sandpaper.

440 stainless steel blade with black finish.

dude u have and american flag but ur hat says scotland..?
bost0n360 3 years ago
DUDE you're a genius. Maybe I'm an American but also Scottish there dingdong. Ah dah Mexican-American right, Scottish-American what the hell is that. I was born in Scotland and I am Scottish, my mother was American born Scottish first generation and well I got born back on the isle. Does that not mean I can't have pride for my heritage. Why don't you go question your own Patriotism and stop insulting people who show there pride.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
that's a hat, I thought it was a duffel bag
Firerer1935 3 years ago
Yeah that is my hat and unfortunately your are now blocked from anything on my stuff because you don't value me as a store or what I offer and like to promote other sites, well which isn't really cool especially when this is my content and I sell knives. So now you'll have to take your comments elsewhere and not participate on mine anymore.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
Maybe if you read up on him, you'd understand. Don't just assume.
AdamXXXPl0x 3 years ago
looks like a shitty microtech ripoff
pedicabdr1ver 3 years ago
Shitty isn't justified. It is a reproduction model which is mass produced and is still of good quality. Hand made versus machined made is quite a different comparison, $500 to $600 for an original versus less than $100 for a reproduction. It like comparing a Rolls Royce to a VW Jetta and saying that the Jetta is a piece of shit. Not so just in a different class. Microtech is in a league all by its own as the supreme best but it comes with a steep price because they're hand made in the US.

are otf knifes illegal in usa
JABBADAFAT101 3 years ago
No, certain states restrict them to law enforcement and military. There are federal restrictions on them crossing between state boarders as well. Illegal no, limitations yes. Go to AssistedKnife and I have the Knife Laws listed at the top of the page.

swatfly1 3 years ago
Looks like it would brake on the first stab. But I bet it could take a lot more am I right? It looks kinda flimsy on the video. But that might just be the light. Looks good though.
swatfly1 3 years ago
how much are these on your website--usa-- i couldnt find them on your website?
theknifer1243 3 years ago
These are out of stock at the moment
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
It is a glass punch. It is to break glass on a window, such as if an accident occurred a first responder can use the but of the knife to break glass to get to a victim if need be. Some contend that it is a skull splitter, which true you could use it in that manner in a military application in hand to hand. But the true intention was to be a glass punch.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
How much does it cost?
sohanlon10 4 years ago
Out of stock at the moment.
Roadsideimports 4 years ago
is it even legal to purchase this? for civilians and not military/police?
aznboi1214 4 years ago
Roadsideimports 4 years ago
one of the only states big on it are california, i think.
and you'd have to have a concealed weapons permit and be over a certain age.
xJasenx 3 years ago
No, go read Penal Code 653. Don't talk about things you don't know anything about. Switchblades are legal in California but there is a restriction on carrying them. There is a 2" law. You can only carry a 2" or smaller automatic knife in California. They are legal on private property the law is about carrying them. Go read the law.

what would u say is the better knife, this or the "lightning" one
geroysimon 4 years ago
I like the partially serrated Lightning model more do to the quality and cost.
Roadsideimports 4 years ago
but even if they are legal its kinda scary to put it in a tight jean pocket since most full autos dont have the safety on them.but you can always get a spring assist with those flippers on the side because it feels like the switchers
