In early 90's I worked with 2 guys from Vietnam.

From a Catholic family on the coast of S. China Sea. When Commies took over bad news for Catholics.

They had a fishing boat & in '76 they escaped by sea but eventually ran out of fuel, food, water, drifted for days half-dead finally saved by Norwegian merchant ship.

If anyone said anything bad about Norway these Vietnam guys would fight you.....

My Grandfather served as a Saigon Marine, in the SVA. He was KIA in combat. During the Ter Offensive.

Its actually the other way around the US and ARVN kicked the NVA and VC's asses so bad the NVA had retreated back into North Vietnam by 73'. We actually completely destroyed the Viet Cong during the Tet Counter Offensive in 1968. In 1973 THE US forces pulled out since they had done all that was needed. In 1975 during Operation Linebacker we supported the ARVN from the skies by commencing boming runs on Hanoi(the norths capital). The NVA was about to surrender than LBJ like an idiot stopped, ass

There was a civil war in Vietnam between communists and Capitalists and the majority of the support was for communism. Now America invaded because they thought that if the communists won then it would create a domino effect through out Asia and that all Asian country's would become communist.
