ok so i have a 2000 mustang v6, and my dad has a 2000 f150 v6, so i can swap them and have more power in the mustang and it fit just right and everything?

@mynamepeggy80 Take the shortblock and swap it. Use your current heads and intake on the mustang. The 4.2 shortblock will pick up around 20hp.

HOw do you make the 3.8 into a 4.3? Did you just swap.engines or what? Wat changes did u make?

In order to do this you will need to swap in the shortblock (block, crank, rods, pistons) in from a 4.2 F150 Engine. It is the same platform. This gives you the greater displacement and about 20hp or so. If you want to go to a 4.3 or larger even a 4.6 v6 you need to machine the crank to have the journals offset. This will increase the stroke even more.

If this is the same HiPoSilver from V6P then I will vouch that he does extremely impressive and respectable work, his 4.3l built stroker is still for sale and if I had the cash right now I would buy it in a heart beat. He is truly a V6 mustang performance pioneer, anyone who buys this engine will have every ounce of respect from me and anybody else that knows anything about built engines. he has truly taken the 3.8l pus rod ford and turned it into an art form.

@Soulscarz well my 4.3 runs low 13's n/a with street tires. Stock 3.8's probably do mid 15's.

I have a spare freshley built 4.3 I'm selling for 3k. They typically go for 4-4.5k

@hardbodysurfer Ever thought of running a direct GT exhaust swap and having a cutout leading toward the axel back for race day??? I only mention because the GT catback swap, res, mufflers, cross over and all, is probably the best ive heard on a 3.8.

I believe a lot of it, is due to the 4.6 having a V6ish smaller displacement sound up high and the mufflers are made to rid of the rasp and pop etc.

As far as catbacks.

Other then H-pipe, Magnalfow res into flow 40s, res'ed tip, best ive heard

4.3 fully built, I mean everything. You name it it has it. I'm slapping on a m112 and a p1sc together here shortly. Just for fun. Will be the first dual supercharged v6. I'm builiding CNC m112 full billet adapters for the m112 that will be for sale soon.

If you just do the 4.3, you're looking around 220range. Do everything else as I have you'll see above 250-300whp.

Too everyone who says you could of had a GT....

It is far more impressive to see a v6 built..

So it lacks a couple cylinders...

It has plenty of displacement too work with, and less weight compared to a GT..

once equiped with a 4.3L stroker kit and or with Turbos.... They are damn fast...

and for cheap. with a great body..........

I think the best way to see what a v6 can to is build up the engine n/a, then once you've down just about everything you can do to it... Add a turbo or blower.

Well, just in the motor since I build everything around 6-7k. Suspension/exhaust/nitrous and all the other goodies maybe another 3k. I now have a procharger with a air/water cooler and custom sheet-metal intake going on that ups the cost.
