  • to me fell is more important than anything else ;;; example david gilmour of pink floyd or ritchie blackmore deep purple HUH

  • For me, Chris is way better than Friedman in accurate.

  • @scarletthunder100 but friedman has more feeling and bends .

  • yeah chris doesn't have as much "feel" as marty but marty sucked at poland's solos

  • Comment removed

  • Poor Chris, he's still under the shadow of Marty.

    All Technical, No Feel

  • @NixxerJixxerWixxer Nope Chris is WAY better than Marty ever was

  • @NixxerJixxerWixxer Now I have a point to make, if a concert pianist plays a really fast piece, he's a virtuoso, a great pianist, but if a guitarist plays a fast solo, he's a machine with no feelings? I think that double standard is bullshit. Everyone should get over it and respect technical proficiency, because as far as I know, everyone can make a retarded face while bending a string, it doesn't mean they have more feeling.

  • @VinnyCryst Name one 'memorable' Broderick solo, Im going to bet you can't name a shit. He is technically good but he's really stale, he spends most of the time perfecting Marty's solo rather than his own.

Most people can't even distinguish a 'soul' player from a stale, technically gifted ones.

  • @NixxerJixxerWixxer I see you have yet to listen to "Endgame"...

  • @cheetok1ng470 Nope, didn't do it for me, it felt like I was listening to a 1 hour epic song

  • @NixxerJixxerWixxer the solo in "How The Story Ends"? It gives this solo a run for its money

  • @cheetok1ng470 i personally think how the story ends solo is better than this one, still think this one is great but chris solo is just.....

  • chixwithdixxx for the 42nd time, quit emailing me that you want to suck my dick, youre harrasing me here and dude, it has to stop....comprende'??? Im not Randy Spears, as in your video favorites ok, if you want to suck his member, email him, not me. EVH is GOD

  • @Lucicsux I'm beginning to suspect you're at least EVH's relative, too bad kid, he sucks, even your mom

  • @NixxerJixxerWixxer I personally loved the solo from How the Story Ends. I wasn't saying this to bash you, it was more of a general remark than a personal attack, so if I offended you, I'd like to apologize, and I wasn't saying Marty sucked either, because Marty has been pretty much the guitarist I respect most for a few years now.

  • 1:40 "If I squint my eyes and point my finger like this, it looks like I am playing what Mustain is playing"

  • Chris is FUCKING Great!

  • Yeah sure he threw in a few more sweeps but that's all he is: a showman. He's good don't get me wrong but the creator of this solo can make minor pentatonics more emotional than Broderick just did. As someone said here: no feeling just notes. Marty's left hand is a tone tool in itself.

  • I like his playing and stuff but... man check out his biceps I want to have mine like Chris' lol no homo.

  • Sucks when you don't understand the top comments coz they're in reply to some really old comment

  • @PrithviMan91 go to "all comments" and use ctrl + f

  • betcha can't play this

  • i appreciate the fact that chris plays this solo pretty damn good & pulling it off live no easy task ..ive seen dozens of covers of the solo ,1# played at a slower speed than the original ,very clean sounding covers by the way ,but just shows they have all had to much trouble trying to play it at the original speed 2# playing along to the original whilst friedmans solo could be heard in the backround LOL a cheap way of covering up mistakes,,i like this cause its played at the original speed

  • rape

  • best solo ever

  • living legend mustaine..one of the best solos ever...

  • +1 if you marty friedman back

  • @xxgdkxx Marty plays JPop now. He left a decade ago because he said he didn't ant to play Metal. Get the fuck over it and accept the fact that he's gone, and the fact that one of the best guitarists on the planet took his place, you ungrateful little prick.

  • @WadddleDeee umad?

  • @flangered Nah, but u jelly you can't play a 100th as good as Broderick

  • @WadddleDeee no I'm not. umad?

  • @WadddleDeee You are the ungrateful little prick since obviously u dont pay respect on Marty's contribution on Megadeth and in Metal and Neoclassical genre in general. Little prick without Friedman there wouldnt be the epic songs of Megadeth. Broderick is a great guitarst but you one dimentional guy before you talk about Marty check his contribution hes not gone coz his records have marked the history of Metal ok BIG prick now shut up and educate urself a bit before talking

  • @WadddleDeee yeah we know marty plays different music now but you cant just tell someone to "get over" the fact that he's gone. some people, including me, can't do that. no one can play like marty friedman. have some respect for marty- he's the reason for megadeth's rise :|

  • @WadddleDeee Actually Marty still plays a plenty of metal now... If you read any of his recent interviews, of heard any of his recent songs, you would know that. Marty said he didn't want to play ONLY METAL, he wanted to play metal and other genres as well.

  • marty is like zakk wylde , both are really good guitarists , nearly not replaceable because they have this unique sound , i love the song bad D.N.A. from marty , so much soul :)

  • ahh chris is sooo boring!!! marty had soooo much soul and spirit in his playing!!!!

  • @imakazero

Thank you!!!! It's so true....Chris has no vibrato or feel at all. The notes are just notes. The passion is gone.

  • Chris is amazing, but i love marty more because of the tone on his guitar, it's just one of a kind!!

  • i love marty but chris is a monster i just love his style

  • Come on, he could at least pretend that this is difficult.

  • @commanderjesussaves no shit hu makes me feel stupid and frustrated enough to throw my guitar in the trash

  • Chris Broderick : Next best thing to Marty Friedman :)

  • fuck , chris broderick is a fucking beast ! \,,/

  • flawless

  • flawless

  • this is a good job on chris's part, but marty has more soul. chris is like a guitar nerd. he does everything by the book

  • @JacksonJS50Dinky Dont be too hard on chris. If he added his own touch to it and played something different, people would say "aw he cant even play it right." I mean for all we know, Mustaine probably told him to not screw with anything, and to only play it how it was written. Dont get me wrong, I'd rather see Marty play the solo too, but chris does a damn good job doing it.

  • @dauntSilver Chris doesn't change the solos at all because he wants to stay as true as possible to the original solos on the records. He tries to play it exactly like the initial composer because that's how he rolls.

  • son of a !!!!!!!

  • Watching this now. It seems like he played better then! Probably because he had just joined the band.

  • old metallica was also written by people that are no longer in that band i.e.. Dave Mustaine and Cliff Burton RiP

  • damn. why did marty leave?! i would be great if the members from the rust in peace era re-united. i just don't like broderick...

  • @Zero10814 He left because he didn't want to play metal anymore.

  • @Rodrigojohann2 Correction: he wanted to take a break from metal. He didn't leave metal for good!

  • old Metallica is way havier than this

  • @asgore

    LOLWUT?

  • @asgore

    good joke

  • @asgore Old metalicca is dead buried under commercials.

  • @asgore What's your point?

  • @asgore Old Metallica was never heavy. Maybe their first album, but guess who had a hand on writing that

  • Lomenzo was great :(

  • öküz herif:)

  • Marty quit the band because he didn't feel like it was the thing he wanted to do, he wanted alternative not metal,

  • @RedRazelenex Yep. Marty is the reason why Risk turned out disco like.

  • @rocafella142

Marty is the reason why we have such great songs like Trust, and great record like Cryptic Writings

  • @Metallicafan825 but in that concert it was lomenzo!

  • okay...overall..marty has a better solo when chris have better skill...i think chris plays far better than marty but marty solos is far better than chris's that it's sooooo melodic...

  • Broderick is good, but Freidman has more soul and is a superior composer and in the end its about what you can compose, not what you can imitate well. Marty rules.

  • @ghostzapper2006 Composing and playing guitar are two different things.

The moment chris quits the band you can compare their stuff and decide who' s the best composer.

Having more soul is a matter of taste. Chris has a classical background where learned to play how it should be, not how he feels like.

  • 0:23 so concentrated that comes to drool

  • anyone else notice hes playin a 7 string :DD

  • And lets be honest. If Marty still was in the band than Megadeth would be a radio-rockband by now.

    Remember Risk.

  • @totaalvoetbalfan You're right, but even when Broderick is a monster technical guitar player, he isn't able of communicate the feeling, the epicness that Marty brought into Megadeth. We have to be fair with both of them: Megadeth and Marty Friedman have already reached their top, together or separated. MegaDave won't make another "Rust In Peace", and Marty will never make another "Scenes" or "Dragon's Kiss". The times have changed and new people will surprise us sooner than the old glories.

  • @rodinrombeau Yes, it' s a fact that he's technically the best by far.

But it's a matter of taste and opinion to say that he isn' t able of communate the feeling.

I like his version more than Marty's so nothing wrong with his feeling IMO and Marty was like ten years in megadeth so give him a break.

  • Dave said that when he met Chris, it was the same impact as when Ozzy O. met Randy Rhoads (RIP). Friedman, Poland etc.all have their own unique style and C.B. plays them all. C.B. plays the songs better than anyone did. Jeff Young never wanted to do Chris Poland's stuff, and so on, and so on. David Ellefson said he jammed with C.B. playing one of Poland's songs and he said that when C.B played one of the riffs, that he could almost swear that it was Poland playing it. C.B. owns them all.

  • The difference is Chris does not pick every note like Marty did.... That and Chris is like 6' 5" and Marty is like 5' 6" and Chris has a 10" hand wingspan... At least he is not afraid to make the solo his own style. God help the next Dream Theater cover band guitarist.... ;-p

  • @box1467 What did you mean with your last sentence?

  • Chris is technically better, but Marty... Come on guys! Marty is the fucking Boss!

  • Friedmens solo albums blows everyone away. The scenes cd is just amazing.

  • He plays it cleaner than Friedman but with less feeling.

  • @zaktan415 I agree... Broderick is a better player but Friedman has that something...

  • Mustaine said that Chris is the best ever guitarist of megadeth and Dave is in the best position to judge this, so

    Chris wins! Flawless Victory!

  • broderick beats everyone... is that so hard to understand?

  • @MetalliK41 everyone except friedman :D

  • 7 string guitar FTW!!!

  • does he have a brain in each of his fingers ?

  • No One, except Dave, can play like Marty...NO ONE!!! Anybody, Nadie...

  • @Scarnivore are you dumb? Dave is nowhere close to Marty.

  • amazing.

  • can any1 tell me why hes playn a 7 string?!

  • @MattPogson

After paying the rent he didn't had the money for an 8 string.

  • Damn, how many different Ibanez seven strings does he own? lol, every video I've seen of him he's playing a different one. Endorsements must be nice...

  • There are a few scenes where it doesn't sync. He's probably playin Friedman style.

  • He plays it very well but Marty is impossible to imitate in my opinion.

  • Chris Broderick the only lead guitar of megadeth who can play Marty's Friedman's solos...

  • That shit is childs play for Chris Broderick

  • @JMaSsA11 That's not really a "childs play" if you really think about how much effort it took Marty to make that solo. It takes a genius to create that. Chris has awesome techniques but he can't make beat Marty when it comes to creative solos like this one.

  • @immortalperser I was just kidding.

  • fucking pro man

  • Chris picks up any solo so easily

  • Thank you Marty Friedman for writing this amazing solo, and thank you Cgris Broderick from playing it flawlessly.

  • Need a Broderick v MAB guitar battle

  • in mustaine we trust!!

  • Absolutely Dave Mustaine......The true Heavy Metal Guitar God

  • @SuperRick006 I love Dave Mustaine, But i must point out that he is'nt as good as broderick or friedman cause its either he cant, or he does not show it in his solos..

  • @adrielchng dave stopped being a solo type of player once marty stepped in... or ever before that... when he was in metallica nobody came close to this guy... but after he was more of a rhythm. but i mean now nobody can come up with anything as good as his rhythm

  • @PersianLord1995 Guess so, but he rocks with the vocals now /v\egadeth forever

  • @adrielchng Coz he is more focused with his vocals.....ass u know he never hired any famous vocalist for Megadeth

  • I can't believe how he can play it so smoothly like that.

  • thumbs up if you came to listen to the solo and were surprised by the amazing bass guitar sound! ellefson rules :D

  • @thebreatho I agree, but thats not Ellefson in the video.

  • @ClassicGameRoomFTW geez you're right! that's LoMenzo! :P

  • @thebreatho Except it would've been James LoMenzo playing at this gig.

  • @thebreatho It's LoMenzo. 2008. Ellefson came back in early 2010.

  • @11DNA11 yeah i know i went to that gig, i don't know what i was thinking :P incredible bass sound, though

  • @thebreatho Dave Ellefson def kicks ass, and is my fav megadeth bassist, but this is James Lomenzo playing. Dave didnt come back until 2010

  • @thebreatho Too bad, the bassist is not Ellefson...

  • @Crowlet37 yeah i know, it was late, but never the less, the sound is amazing

  • @thebreatho am i the only one that still miss him?

  • @ipslonmen ellefson is ellefson, but i really liked LoMenzo, he provided powerful sound and great background vocals

  • @thebreatho 0:54 thats not ellefson...

  • @kevinbiss ok this is getting annoying... I KNOW ITS NOT ELLEFSON :P

  • @thebreatho Dave's bass always sounds good. A Jackson with active EQ, played through a Hartke stack with all the knobs at 12 o clock.

  • @johncerasi Lol that's not Ellefeson that LoMenzo

  • @thebreatho Not surprised at all :P

  • @thebreatho If is true that the video was recorded on 2008, David Ellefson didn´t play the bass guitar. On 2008 James LoMenzo was the Bass guitar player. D. Ellefson returned to Megadeth on 2010.

  • @thebreatho And to think, Ellefson's tone is much better than LoMenzo's (which is the bass player in this video)

  • @thebreatho Ellefson wasnt back in the band the time this video was uploaded HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • @thebreatho Only it wasn't Ellefson on this one

  • @thebreatho Was James LoMenzo

  • @thebreatho

I don't know if you are talking about the bass music itself (written by Jr.) or the performance/sound given on stage. But it is actually James Lomenzo playing at the time this was recorded. Not Ellefson.

    Ellefson still rules though. \m/

  • @thebreatho This gig was before Ellefson reunited with the band, this is Lomenzo playing, he did a really good job in Megadeth, but Ellefson is the real deal! :D

  • @lsdpoweredmotorboat i know it, it was late... i really like LoMenzo too, he was a great backing vocals singer

  • @thebreatho this is not ellefson, pelotudo!

  • @thebreatho The saound is good, but it wasn't Ellefson,he left Megadeth in 2002 and he returned in 2010,but this live was in 2008.....

  • @thebreatho Watch again smartass. David came back to Megadeth in 2010 and this video has been captured in 08 so the bass player is James LoMenzo YOU STUPIDO MANGO

  • @thebreatho Actually, this is Lomenzo, not Ellefson.

  • @thebreatho Too bad this wasn't with Ellefson.

  • @thebreatho Yes junior is a badass.

  • @thebreatho is not ellefson!! is james lomenzo!!

  • @thebreatho Is LoMenzo, he is very awesome too but ellefson is better

  • @thebreatho

another soundman that does not like shreddn guitar i see.

    crank that shit up!!!!!!!!!

  • @thebreatho although I agree David Ellefson is an epic bassist, I am afraid to say that was James LoMenzo (another insane bassist)

  • @thebreatho funny cause he wasnt in the band then... thats lomenzos powerful tone

  • @thebreatho I'm pretty sure that in 2008 Lomenzo was handling the bass for megadeth

  • @thebreatho Ellefson is not here, he's James LoMenzo. Though yeah it sounds amazing.

  • @thebreatho this is James LoMenzo on the bass and not David Ellefson by the way...

  • @thebreatho

I love ellefson, but this wasn't after 2008...

So this was the one blond dude after Ellefson.

  • @thebreatho Yes but he's not ellefson.

  • Definitely the best Guitarist Megadeth ever got! He just replicated Marty's solo perfectly! I'm glad Dave finally found the Guitar God he was looking for (despite himself of course).

  • @chordanae

    Dave Mustaine guitar god? Hahahaha!!!

  • @YoLpIsBest how is that funny?

  • @homelessninja100

Mustaine is a good songwriter and decent rhythm guitarist but his solos are basic stuff.

  • Well Jesus ain't the only one who plays guitars so well, let's not forget Satan (Kerry KIng) !

  • is he using a wah? God can't really tell

  • Jesus looks like Broderick.
