as a owner of a real hovercraft this commercial really pisses me off. Now everyone who sees my machine asks how high will it fly and i have to explane to them how they are wrong.
When I first heard this commercial, I knew immediately that some self righteous hispanic would complain about it. We truly need to loosen up in our society. I am black. I LOVE the jive characters in the "Airplane" movies. Funny is funny.
I don't think it's on YouTube, but one of the other Orbitz ads featuring the hover craft - the one where a valet has trouble handling the craft trying to park it, Mr. Pakulski-Blatz approaches a couple by the name of Hernandez, and has trouble pronouncing their name. He says "Hernandezezez".
I noticed that they later altered that part, and he now only says "Hernandez". I assume this was due to some stupid hispanics, being offended by the joke and making complaints. Ridiculous.
@LateNightCable When I first heard the ad, I knew immediately that it was going to be pulled, or at least altered because like you say, we have people who take themselves too fucking seriously in this country. It's never about the commercial, it's about them. But they can laugh and cackle at any other depiction, but you can't touch THEM. And I am black so I'm not a white guy ranting about this either.
not to burst your bubble but the "hover craft" was lowered by a crane or something, there is no way it could get that much lift. Its a funny commercial though.
This is the best commercial. It's meaningless, but that's what's so great about it. Commercials which try to be serious, are really patronizing, because then the commercial is asking us to believe what is admittedly just actors.
I love flying hovercrafts. There is nothing in the world any better. I do know how they wrok.... but the commercial is still funny. Check out my hovercraft video.

@LateNightCable
I noticed that today too. . .
However I don't think that would make any Hispanics stupid. . .nor do I think it should have been in there in the first place. . .
but either way it wasn't very offensive either way.

Correct. Hovercraft do not 'fly', they hover immediately above the surface (land, water, ice) using a cushion of air.

Orbitz is obviously making too much money if they can waste it like this (the hovercraft AND the commercial)
