Waylon produced Dr Hook's 1976 version and sang backup ...

Dr Hook's version was recorded at Glaser Brothers Sound Studio (Hillbilly Central) where Waylon had his office.

What About You is a real oldie written in 1949 by-

Johnnie & Jack - Johnnie Wright (born 1914) and Jack Anglin (born 1916 died in a car wreck in 1963 to attend a memorial for Patsy Cline who died 3 days earlier).

Johnnie Wright is Kitty Wells husband.

They married in1937 and are still alive and still married!

You know Johnnie Wright's # 1 song from 1965 "Hello Vietnam." written by Tom T Hall.

It's used at the beginning of the movie "Full Metal Jacket"1987.
