no this is a new one. he couldnt throw the previous one and it was more of a giant explosion instead of a slice explosion. There are infinite possibilities. he can make a giant rasengan if he feels like it. its up to the user but up till now he has the normal rasengan, odoma rasengan, fuuton shurinken rasengan (no throw) and this one.
