No, it is not a sticky surface. On the inner serface of the pitcher plant there are fine hair pointing downwards, which prevent the insect from crawling out.

Make sure you use rain water or cooled boiled water the inpuritys in the water will make it droop down and eventually die. Beleive me about boiling water i have two carnivorous plants that are water with boiled water and they are extremely healthy. Good luck!

I was recovering from a bad cold and hence the music in place of my croaking. Anyway, it is a wild insectivorous plant. It was recorded in one of my trips to West Garo Hills. The plants are Nepenthes khasiana, indigenous to Khasi and Garo Hills in North East region of India.
