  • Shlock.

  • Didn't know Rudess covered a tune from Joe Pass, Lionel Hampton and Ray Brown! Oh wait, it's his...

  • nema pojma glupak

  • Elevator music.

  • E O CARA E DE MAIS VERI GOD

  • Tony Banks couldn't begin to play like this guy, but I'll take Genesis from '70 to '77 over Dream Theater or L.T.E. any day of the week. I've never hear either of those bands create anything as cool as Supper's Ready, Eleventh Earl of Mar or Dance on a Volcano... Speed ain't everything.

  • @pmfith TRUTH

  • Jordan Rudess's skill and awesomeness is beyond human comprehension.

  • The jazz guitar sounds so fake-y.

  • @Chriskkboongg Are you sure it's not supposed to be an electric piano sound? I think it is.

  • So the low keys are set to switch voices. And he has a multi where the bass and a drum ride play at the same time

  • @RobBrooksMusic he switches voices with a foot pedal and has many splits

  • @IMaiden89 I've never used this keyboard but if you actually watch his hands, you will notice he only plays the extreme low keys just before the voices/splits change. 0:19, 0:30, 0:45, 0:57, 1:08 and a whole heap at 1:23 and 1:32. I can't see the pedals, but I guarantee you it's not his feet. He has somehow set those keys to program switches using the Oasys or a DAW, I'd like to know where you found out that he uses his feet on this keyboard

  • @RobBrooksMusic True, here he does program sections of the keyboard to produce certain sounds and makes little or no use of the pedal here. But he uses quite regularly (and skillfully) the pedal.

  • damn!damn!damn!damn!!!

:O oops.. half way thru the video, my lower jaw fell off..

    now I can't find it... :(

  • nord owns korg

  • fuckin genious!!!

  • so the lowest keys were used as controllers?

    great....

  • how can you dislike this? lol

  • My basement doesn't look like that..

  • The Wizard himself

  • 1:23 the way he switches between Rhodes piano and Vibraphone blows my head!!!!

  • @GeorgiMl Actually, it's jazz guitar sound, but, yeah, still awsome! :)

  • Bastard!

  • my idol

  • He is after the last change quintet or sextet? ;-D

  • @ 00:20 makes me think of Mr. Rogers when I was 5.

  • Nice background you got 'ere, Rudess.

  • nothing really quite compares to him just sitting at a regular old piano and "riffing". These synths sound a bit lame. in my opinion. Why would anyone want to try and replicate a bass or a guitar or any other familiar instrument on a synth. It sounds canned and lacks expression and soul. but Like I said. no one can touch him on a grand piano...

  • For all those people who want to know Jordans personal youtube channel its JCRUDESSS

  • Where's the swing? lol

  • Unfuckingbelievable

  • è solo un fenomeno da baraccone...inventiva 0

  • Steppy jezzoc

  • I don't see this as very impressive he's just playing something and occasionally switching instruments. I figured it saying that he was playing an ensamble that he'd be playing more than one instrument at a time... Disappointing.

  • @burninmunkeys your comment is disappointing.

  • @yellowman88 Not nearly as much as the let down I got from watching this. I've seen people play songs on 3 or four instruments sometimes including the use of their toes to play a guitar, and you want me to think someone who can play the keyboard really well, and occasionally change instruments, with 0 backing behind the music, not even using a looper to play something with himself, is amazing? Hardly.

  • @burninmunkeys Your comment is just hilarious.

You obviously don't understand what this video is even trying to showcase.

  • @yellowman88 That he is playing a small Jazz ensemble?

  • @burninmunkeys He is showcasing the instrument, not his own skills. If you want to see his skills, there are better videos for that out there. Who cares?

  • @fashnek Well, skill and talent sells, equally if not better than, showing the semi-versatility of the item. If he had shown it's versatility while completely kicking ass, it'd have been more worth it.

  • But.. can he play 'Mary had a little lamb'?

  • @ianidinuse why did you try copy what the other dude said except a diff song dont you have your own things to say ?

  • "Our next act is Mr Jordan Rudess.. he'll be playing the keyboard, upright bass, vibraphone and drums for us!"

Well, not really true about the drums, but you know its just because he doesn't want to.

  • all wanna know is where the hell is he. see i bet he made a deal with the universe its self that he will play epic music if the universe lets him chill in a worm hole to warm up

  • Jordan rudess at his best.. Like thaat Lol

  • yeah!!!

  • These are Kontakt libraries, not Oasys sounds!!!

  • I'm so ashamed to call myself a keybords player......

  • What style of jazz is this? I wanna hear more :P

  • @Kynitt

this is not really jazz. (the bassline is, and the drums) but the improvs are more bluesy.

  • @musicofammers and his not playing with swing feel, i think jordan is amazing but he havent a really jazz lenguage... what do you think ?

  • @richoboss22

    your right, he's more classical.

not bad ofcourse, but he can't play jazz like a real jazzpianist.

  • ths sound is perfect and his playing too

  • why does he looks at me with that wierd face at the end? I heard a voice saying, I WANT YOUR MONEY

  • @UACDOOM

No, no, no... THAT face says: "Let me see YOU do this... bitch". xD

  • @SenkoSa thats not what Ive heard.

  • So strange when i see 17 people : they dont like the video....i dont think so that theres a higher level than this !!

  • i wonder how is he changing the patches? mental powers? switch pedals?

  • Jordan Rudess, making all other instrumentalist obsolete one at a time.

  • @sharadeth he only sucks at vocals xD

  • LOL His house has some epic rooms.

  • wow that keyboards bass sound amazes me.

not to speak of the man behind the keys

  • Jordan,vc toca de mais...

  • ths sound is perfect and his playing too as usual xD he's inhuman!

  • ...but can he play hot cross buns?

  • horrível... jazzé outra coisa...

  • Fuck me.

  • It has to be a great feeling to think, hey I think I'll hit the keys and play any damn thing I want because I'm that good.

  • -Teckibaal- you're so wright. Selling averything and buying this thing. If i would sell my stuff it won't cover a fith of the price this device costs.

  • Good performance =D

    Rudess Yeah!

  • God I pray towards you..

I want to have some skills of this too!!

  • hoooly mother of go:D

  • i wanted have 0,0000001% of his skills

  • @andradeeric Then you'd be shit surely? wouldn't you rather have at least 100%

  • @andradeeric His showing no extra skill in this video, but I wish I had 0,0000001% of his skills anyway

  • @andradeeric I want to have 101% of his skills. Then for sure I would play with Dream Theater ;-)

  • this is too good T_T ..

  • niceeeee

  • yeeee....cool....nice performance.

  • aaa!

    siiick!!!

RUDESS its just a perect musician

    with feeling and force

  • Jordan is a one-man orchestra, band, jazz ensemble, death metal band, and Lebanese folk group all in one.

  • @Slashe50 Frequently at the same time.

  • @Slashe50 hahaha i died at "Lebanese folk group".

  • can he play marimba?

  • Of course!!!!

  • wow that bass comp with the solo is so awesome

  • Now that is just too cool, props

  • Ah Jazz, one of my favorite genres ever :D. The base of all Progressive music, for sure.

  • When I see this vid, i'm thinking " why not selling my keyboards on ebay, now ? "

  • Why not sell it to me! Haha.

  • hehe

  • this is why Jordan is the best in the world ^^... he play all the music style, not like anotheer keyboardist who play only one thing Dx... like jens johansson, Warman, Mikko Harkin, and anothers xD !!!... Jordan Rulez ^^

  • Uuh, don't diss Johansson. He can play loads of different stuff, he just doesn't show it that often. He is a genius!

  • He's INCERIBLE - awesome improvisations in many very various styles - now jazz. . . He always amazes me.

  • Holy fuck... and I thought ascending and descending in scales were a little tough...

  • Woow this guy is a monster.....even when he play jass

  • O_O

  • haha, cool stuff!!

  • it looks like hes on the today show or something with that background.

  • I would kill for the Oasys

It's friggin 8000 bucks though. Prob worth it.

    Jordan Rudess is insane

  • 8000 chips?

    whew.

man, that's expensive. but prolly worth it, ya know. that thing is fuckin AMAZIN! as long as you read the manual.

  • Yeah, it would be so worth it. I played around with it in Guitar Center, so confusing. Probably so much you could do with it though

  • i agree man, im a guitarist but i play alot of keyboard too, and i also played around with it in a guitar center, and i could barely figure out how to change the tones/patches. hahaha but it seems like you can do almost anything with it

  • inorite? I wish I could learn everything with it....

  • dont Get Me wrong i love jordan rudess And I never Heard anyone better on keyboard and I base my entire musical thought on dream theater but he Def. has had better improvs than this one not saying this isnt awesome cause it without a doubt is.

  • i think that this is muuuch more better than what he does with DT. ive listen to DT for many years, but nowadays the keyboards are sooooo boring especially...kev moore was more creative with movements in DT. r

jordan is still a great player and nice person, but in DT he didnt show hes REAL skill. though its still random jazz moves, sounds better than him doing DT songs of the younger era...

  • well have you ever seen DT live man if you ever have then youd know why I love that band so Much Ive seen them twice its And absolutely unbelievable what they do live

  • ive seen DT 5 times and its still one of my fav bands...but there are musicians out there, which are more creative like DT and especially rudess...hes a virtuoso but he play things that existed before...not much creativity, more fingering skills (fast runs)...

  • Listen to Rudess' solo albums, and you would think otherwise, jordan has written some very original and fantastic pieces of work.

and this is against your comment "not much creativity, more fingering skills (fast runs)... " not the one about more creative musicians, because there will always be someone more creative than the next.

  • man...ive written !!!MY!!! Opinion about jordan and that...i would not try to change your opinion about such things...i say hes not so creative like other musicians, but hes one of the best reproducer of existing music. point

  • and I can't disagree with YOUR opinion? Opinions are made to be questioned, don't like it? Don't have opinions.

He has plenty of original music, that's all I'm saying.

  • you can disagree, i too it too. but for me it seems that you want to convert me, not only debate...

  • I'm sorry if it seemed that way...

  • If you think so, I think you don't know Rudess that well. Search more and more, and you will notice he is VERY creative. Maybe he's not your style, but he IS creative! If you don't like his music it doesn't mean he isn't creative..

  • Try the keyboard sample cd for Count of Tuscany... its hidden magic that you cant hear with the full song.

  • Its a shame that he only has 2 arms

  • I'm sorry but who possibly is better than this guy he is just astounding!!!!

  • in my opinion,Joey DeFrancesceo is better.

  • 0:53 the sound of dream theater is present. he plays like petrucci this part of the guitar. jordan is awesome f$%/"#in bastard!!!!

  • It cuts just before the keyboard starts melting.

  • hahahahahaha hilarious dude very original joke.and yes hes an animal on keyboard

  • Dang...

  • 1:30 is AMAZING.

but the rest is superb as well.

  • amazing!

  • independence... is everything

  • lol he just looks at the camera like he's a total badass.

    well . . . HE IS!!!

  • Is this guy some kinda robot? If so, what kind of powers does he have? And does he use them for good, or for AWESOME?

My answers: Yes, Crazy keyboard skills and AWESOME

  • Killin it!

  • That is ridiculously cool

  • Can't say it better myself :D

  • PRO

  • after this video he became jordan RULEZ !

    uhauha

  • Jordan RULEZ! Haha, I loved it, rodsbrown!

  • I love Jordan, but I felt nothing in that Jazz emsemble. Excellent technique but not a lot of "soul".

  • What crack are you smoking?

  • It's great crack too. Seriously, though. Jordan is an excellent musician but I find most of the time he embellishes more than he injects. Derek Sheridian for me is the opposite. He injects more than embellishes and for Jazz, it's all about soul, not about how fast or intricate you can end the phrase. With Jordan's other stuff, it works, but here, it doesn't.

  • DAMN! thats some coool jazz :D

  • Does anyone know how he did this thing with the Sound change? He is doing something on the left side, but I can't look throw how. Doe's this work with the M3 to?

    Greetings

  • Most synth boards allow you to program in your sounds up front and then "next" through each setup. The odds are he programmed the whole board up front and started at 1, and just "next" through each one by pressing a button on the left throughout the whole song.

  • that keyboard looks like it has way more than 88 keys... anyone know how many?

  • I think it's just the standard 88.

  • excellent ! no comment !

  • this man è a machine... but is a human or alien? .....mmmhhhhh.....

  • Like they always say. Practice Makes perfect. All you have to do is practice and practice a verity of different things. Train yourself to play 2 handed and then after that you can try and play as good as him i guess.

  • i wonder how he got so fricken good

  • i think its awesome how he can make an entire band sound with just one keyboard he's amazing,

  • holycrap..this is badass

  • Comment removed

  • fantastic playing as always.

  • I just bought a keyboard the other day and have never played one before. I am wondering what kind of easy songs and exercises there are that can help me get to grips with having my right and left hands doing two different things. at the moment as soon as i start using the 2nd hand to do anything the 1st one goes out of time or just freezes completely

  • Two handed split takes years of practice, get your basic technique down before you move on to the advance stuff, You will regret skipping the basics later down the road trust me

  • som ruim e postura de mãos bem errada ^^

  • And that guy finally cut his hair...

  • that keyboard is very expensive

  • $8000

  • i know

  • cool

  • Ah SE LIGA RAPAZ o Rick era o saci de saia sim, mas nao manjava tanto quanto o Rudess ¬.¬

  • outro viadinho de merda sem argumentos, vc.

  • You dont have arguments.

  • I know. lol

  • so then why even talk faggot. jordan rudess wins at life

  • lol oops, the comment didn't go to that user...

I always forget to press the reply button..

    lolol sorry

  • Best keyboard player i ever seen

  • show off "jazz"

  • I like when he stops play and looks at camera :D

  • No me gusta mucho Dream Theater, pero después de ver videos de Jordan Rudess empezé a escucharlos por ver lo que toca... es un maestro!!

  • what a guy

  • respect

  • Wow!!!

  • That 's very nice! At least it is just uneasy to play such a Jazz song with two hands, where the song is supposed to be played by a band as a whole, right? He is a really Great Pianist anyway.

  • That's cool!

  • very nice!!
