Tony Banks couldn't begin to play like this guy, but I'll take Genesis from '70 to '77 over Dream Theater or L.T.E. any day of the week. I've never hear either of those bands create anything as cool as Supper's Ready, Eleventh Earl of Mar or Dance on a Volcano... Speed ain't everything.
@IMaiden89 I've never used this keyboard but if you actually watch his hands, you will notice he only plays the extreme low keys just before the voices/splits change. 0:19, 0:30, 0:45, 0:57, 1:08 and a whole heap at 1:23 and 1:32. I can't see the pedals, but I guarantee you it's not his feet. He has somehow set those keys to program switches using the Oasys or a DAW, I'd like to know where you found out that he uses his feet on this keyboard
@RobBrooksMusic True, here he does program sections of the keyboard to produce certain sounds and makes little or no use of the pedal here. But he uses quite regularly (and skillfully) the pedal.
nothing really quite compares to him just sitting at a regular old piano and "riffing". These synths sound a bit lame. in my opinion. Why would anyone want to try and replicate a bass or a guitar or any other familiar instrument on a synth. It sounds canned and lacks expression and soul. but Like I said. no one can touch him on a grand piano...
I don't see this as very impressive he's just playing something and occasionally switching instruments. I figured it saying that he was playing an ensamble that he'd be playing more than one instrument at a time... Disappointing.
@yellowman88 Not nearly as much as the let down I got from watching this. I've seen people play songs on 3 or four instruments sometimes including the use of their toes to play a guitar, and you want me to think someone who can play the keyboard really well, and occasionally change instruments, with 0 backing behind the music, not even using a looper to play something with himself, is amazing? Hardly.
@burninmunkeys He is showcasing the instrument, not his own skills. If you want to see his skills, there are better videos for that out there. Who cares?
@fashnek Well, skill and talent sells, equally if not better than, showing the semi-versatility of the item. If he had shown it's versatility while completely kicking ass, it'd have been more worth it.
all wanna know is where the hell is he. see i bet he made a deal with the universe its self that he will play epic music if the universe lets him chill in a worm hole to warm up
-Teckibaal- you're so wright. Selling averything and buying this thing. If i would sell my stuff it won't cover a fith of the price this device costs.
this is why Jordan is the best in the world ^^... he play all the music style, not like anotheer keyboardist who play only one thing Dx... like jens johansson, Warman, Mikko Harkin, and anothers xD !!!... Jordan Rulez ^^
i agree man, im a guitarist but i play alot of keyboard too, and i also played around with it in a guitar center, and i could barely figure out how to change the tones/patches. hahaha but it seems like you can do almost anything with it

i think that this is muuuch more better than what he does with DT. ive listen to DT for many years, but nowadays the keyboards are sooooo boring especially...kev moore was more creative with movements in DT. r
jordan is still a great player and nice person, but in DT he didnt show hes REAL skill. though its still random jazz moves, sounds better than him doing DT songs of the younger era...
well have you ever seen DT live man if you ever have then youd know why I love that band so Much Ive seen them twice its And absolutely unbelievable what they do live
ive seen DT 5 times and its still one of my fav bands...but there are musicians out there, which are more creative like DT and especially rudess...hes a virtuoso but he play things that existed before...not much creativity, more fingering skills (fast runs)...
Listen to Rudess' solo albums, and you would think otherwise, jordan has written some very original and fantastic pieces of work.
and this is against your comment "not much creativity, more fingering skills (fast runs)... " not the one about more creative musicians, because there will always be someone more creative than the next.
man...ive written !!!MY!!! Opinion about jordan and that...i would not try to change your opinion about such things...i say hes not so creative like other musicians, but hes one of the best reproducer of existing music. point
If you think so, I think you don't know Rudess that well. Search more and more, and you will notice he is VERY creative. Maybe he's not your style, but he IS creative! If you don't like his music it doesn't mean he isn't creative..
It's great crack too. Seriously, though. Jordan is an excellent musician but I find most of the time he embellishes more than he injects. Derek Sheridian for me is the opposite. He injects more than embellishes and for Jazz, it's all about soul, not about how fast or intricate you can end the phrase. With Jordan's other stuff, it works, but here, it doesn't.
Does anyone know how he did this thing with the Sound change? He is doing something on the left side, but I can't look throw how. Doe's this work with the M3 to?
Most synth boards allow you to program in your sounds up front and then "next" through each setup. The odds are he programmed the whole board up front and started at 1, and just "next" through each one by pressing a button on the left throughout the whole song.
Like they always say. Practice Makes perfect. All you have to do is practice and practice a verity of different things. Train yourself to play 2 handed and then after that you can try and play as good as him i guess.
I just bought a keyboard the other day and have never played one before. I am wondering what kind of easy songs and exercises there are that can help me get to grips with having my right and left hands doing two different things. at the moment as soon as i start using the 2nd hand to do anything the 1st one goes out of time or just freezes completely
Two handed split takes years of practice, get your basic technique down before you move on to the advance stuff, You will regret skipping the basics later down the road trust me
That 's very nice! At least it is just uneasy to play such a Jazz song with two hands, where the song is supposed to be played by a band as a whole, right? He is a really Great Pianist anyway.
