  • Does anyone have footage of the ENTIRE pregame show?? The presenting of the colors by the Indianettes and color guard set to 'March of the Olympians' ????

  • @AllStraysWelcome I have the entire pre-game show from the final game at the wigwam. Parts of it are on my page. Youtube has extended the max length since I posted my multiview edit, but I'll make a new full length version.

  • Anderson Indians class of 1971 and still proud of our Indians

  • I guess these mascots and routines are no more. PC'ers make me sick!

  • Anderson Indians Class of 07!

  • ummm....ohhhhkayyy....

    errr...lol

How many stereotypes can we fit in one "performance"

And people wonder why we don't like being used as mascots. Oh well....

  • Except for the fact that the family of Chief Anderson, for which the School and City of Anderson is named, helped put this dance together A LONG time ago. This school has been around for almost 150 years. This isn't some new thing just recently thought up. It's a respected tradition.

  • Doesn't mean it isn't full of Hollywood stereotypes, but it's alright you guys can do what you like...just one thought though....

Chief Anderson was Delaware right?? Why can't it be the Anderson Delawares....seems to make more sense don't ya think....

  • Saw this for the 1st time at the 2010 WigWam Classic. Finally seeing it made the whole day worth it. Cant imagine what this was like back when Hoosier Hysteria was at its peak.

  • @scarpenter23

I graduated from Anderson in 1987. It was the most memorable time period of my life. Jeff Lane was the Mascot that year. I spent every BB home game on the stage playing trumpet in the band. What a great time! I'll cherish it forever.

  • This dance has been around for awhile I am proud to be an Anderson Indian and this dance will continue to be on of the best parts of the school itself.

  • It's just a bunch of kids dancing around before/during a game. I do not think they are making fun of Native Americans! Obviously it is not in the best of taste, but they are not trying to insult us. Does this represent us? NO! Yet again, I do not think they are trying to.

  • actually it does represent the native dance of the tribe there and last year our mascot was presented by the oldest and last living relative from cheif anderson him self and i take great honor and pride in this dance although my school sucks this dance shows our spirit and there is no other school that does and has a tradition like this in the world this is why its unique :D

  • Well said.

  • oakfox1981:

there is no stereo type at all. think of the schools name... Anderson "Indians" thats why out mascots are basically there to represent Indians, not make fun of them. Everyone I know I go to school with now, loves this, I bet younger children enjoy it. (I do currently go to this school...) So take your "stereo type" comments some where else.

  • I went to the high school in when it converted over my mom grad from anderson and dad from heights it's just a thing where heights and anderson have to cheer together and nothing happend to highland. i was always was going to the indian games as a younger man so i'm glad that this video was on here i love to see what sprit anderson high school and heights can put together... Screw highland!!!!

  • I went to AHS from 1976 to 1980 during the glory days of Indiana basketball!!! Though it has been nearly 30 years since graduating, I think that the choreography is the same as when Mike Phelps was the mascot! Thanks you so very much for posting this great video. It brings back such wonderful memories!!!

  • Great Job! Were going to miss those good ol days at Anderson High School.

    KEEP THE SPIRIT ALIVE.

WE WILL MISS Casey and Victoria

  • My mom Diane Stearns made up that dance for a pep session with Gene Rains. She's in her 70's and is an Anderson business owner and often spokesmodel on QVC.
