Can anyone explain to me why private production of currency is a good idea, or at least point out to me the arguments they use to justify it? Why is it that all Congress seems to do is relinquish its powers and responsibilities to the executive or to corporations? What's the reasoning behind it?

Becuase it makes the people with all the wealth and all the media wealthier and more capable of cutting off independent media while producing ever more and more targeted propaganda.

I think that is the reasoning behind it. I can't justify it, and I can't tell why it would be a good idea. As to congress, that is easy, they get paid to give the voice of the people to the corporations.
