  • Great vid - you're very talented! Is sketching paper thick enough for alcohol based markers? I consider buying Copic Markers, but I don't know what kind of paper to use..

  • @BlazerRose Try tracing paper! It is a very strong kind of paper! My favorite. The effect on Marker-paper has quite different effects.

  • @doctorCOPIC Thx for answering :-) I'll try that, then. Can't wait to get started!

  • this is so f**king awsome!!!!

  • love so much, thank you!

  • WOW !!!!

  • what is the solvent that you used with the cotton? does it dry quick? and what paper are you using ? do you work on tracing paper? thanks! :D

  • such a talent :O keep it up

  • @MediaTechPC Thanks! Must add another video...

  • One word: Beautiful!

  • los copic son lo maximoo

!!! yo tambien quieroo!!! solo tengo 7 csmre!!1 quiero mass!!1!

  • Music fits the video well. I wouldnt put that in my ipod, but in context with the video, it's perfect. Good work on both the music and the drawing.

  • culture & art blog

  • great ilustration, but honestly it looks way better in the beggining-middle of the whole video. Thanks for sharing!

  • @CharmyCupcake Have to confess I made more money with drawing than with music. But I will keep trying, you know!!

  • @doctorCOPIC Is that a joke, did you really make that music? because I loved it, sounds really oldschool 16bit style.

  • @R0cknroll4ever Ah, thanks! I enjoy making these sounds and play them to myself on the car-stereo. Did not think anyone else would be able to stand it...

  • @doctorCOPIC It's like oldschool dungeon crawler music ^_^

  • Is there any chance you can explain the whole process and the equipment you used?

  • @parsa021021 The equipment is mentioned in the last part of the clips. basically I draw with a fine liner on sketching paper. This could also be trace of a computer perspective. after that I add the blotches of Copic refill ink. After that I use Copic markers and watercolor pencils to give color to the drawing. And after that I add the white rotting lines that make the drawing look "fresh". Does this help at all?

I will publish a reference manual on blurb soon...

  • that is so cool that you can freehand that! Are you an architect?

  • @kendahke Yes, I WAS an architect. Now I am an artist.

  • @doctorCOPIC why did you stop being an arcitect? I want to be an architect because i heard they make 100,000 a year and i also like building but i also like drawing.

  • @SogMosee As an architect you need to be friends with EVERYBODY, contractor, client, city, urban planners, project developers, consultants... I prefer to be artist. Only have to be friend to myself!

  • @doctorCOPIC I do like making new friends...

  • The song made the building look scary...=D I'm impressed by your work! You make it look so easy!!

  • @kyatorin Thanks! I have been drawings these for 20 years now, thats why it gets faster.

  • @doctorCOPIC I'm so jelous, buildings are so incredibly hard to make! If I may ask, do you only draw enviromnents or do you dra people/animals as well?

  • @kyatorin You caught me! I cannot draw people or animals very well... Thanks for your comment!

  • @doctorCOPIC My pleasure! I'll be keeping an eye on your work from no on! =) Thanks for sharing!

  • So when you mention "Tracing paper" you mean the waxed one, right? I don't think I can just go by the brand since where I live may not have the same type of stuff.

Oh and btw I normally use Sakura Pen-touch for the white ink. Not sure if it's different tho.

  • @HolsteinDevil Not really sure if it is waxed... I can use both sides of mine. Tricky... Are you sure they do not sell the Schoellershammer?

  • @doctorCOPIC Well at least I've never seen that brand around here. (I live in Thailand, by the way.) But I just heard that you can paint on waxed paper with Copic markers which is pretty interesting since my water color won't stick. Somehow I don't know if it will give the same effects as yours so that's why I asked. Hmm... Maybe I should try that. :)

  • @HolsteinDevil Try it out! I have used this ink on other papers too. (Try both sides!) Even if the paper is colored you can use the white or light colored pencils and the white ink to make it really stand out!

  • @doctorCOPIC Oh and would you mind if I come back and ask more questions about architectural presentation?? I'm an architecture student and I would really love to make my presentations look better since my basic skills are not as good as my "studio mates"

  • @HolsteinDevil Not sure if I can be of help but ask anyway!

  • @doctorCOPIC You're awesome. Thanks so much!!

  • AMAZING!!

  • beautiful work! went and bought a few copic markers today after watching these last night.

love the drops for the background.

do you do anything to the drops to help them blend and spread??

  • @saf3706 Thanks! The blending works when you use the drops of ink on transparent Sketching / Tracing- paper. No need for any addition. I buy this paper in a 30cm-roll preferably from Schoellershammer.

  • Very very cool :)

  • nice but the music scares meXD

  • ...what did you just DO?!?!?! 0_0

  • beautiful! O.O :D

  • Wow amazing =D

  • @TheBeautifulcho Thanks! More to come. Plus a Blurb Sourcebook with the drawings!

  • O_O

  • amazing technic!

  • cool =), the white marker is that "Copic to ?? =)

  • @rareu4532 No, that is white Rotring ink in an ISOGRAPH technical pen. Use every two weeks to prevent drying...

  • @doctorCOPIC is that pen for us hobby painters or is it only for the professional architect ? =), and last question what shop did you buy from? =)

  • @rareu4532 It is easy to use, just use regulary. I buy them on eBay because they are not produced anymore. You can get them quit cheap. Strangely enough the white ink IS still produced by Rotring. Perhaps there is a new kind of refillable technical Rotring Pen. I have never tried to find that out. Good luck!

  • Amazing! Simply amazing!!!

  • @Rewayah THANKS!!!

  • wow !!!

  • When you said speed draw, you where not kidding D: How long did it really take you? I know it wasn't a minute xD

  • @MissDante 1 hour 15 minutes!

  • @Panoramatic Walla thats a long time!

  • wow that was great! i love how you use the ink straight from the refill!!

  • Man I absolutely LOVE what you did with the ink spill.

    Talk about inspiring work!

  • when you use the reillfs for the base of the drawing did you apply the colourless blender before hand of just the one layer of pigmient? It went by soo fast!

  • @HanabiKatzur Thanks for your comment!!

No colorless blender! If you use the refill ink on sketching paper you can mix them (when still wet!) with a cottonpad and this is what you get!

  • Wow you are amazing!

  • AMAAAAAAAZING. :D

  • What does he spread over the page at the beginning?

  • @fallingwatersnz: I will add a video about that later. It is copic refill ink, straight from the bottle onto the sketchingpaper. Use cotton pad to distribute.

  • @doctorCOPIC Excellent. thank you very much

  • @fallingwatersnz you may also use Denatured Alcohol mixed with copic/ethyl alcohol marker ink for a wash. or 200 proof whiskey "doesn't exist"

Denatured Alcohol or ethyl alcohol is main medium/solvent in most art markers like prisma/chartpak/copic and I've used it to create lighter washes of darker markers that I have.

Find it at any hardware store in the varnish section for $6 bucks a liter. You can store washes in small airtight containers like Rubbermaid.

  • @rlmcviii thanks for the info:)

  • IT's AMAZING!!

    but please more slowly :)

  • great man! please upload/draw more ;)

  • Thanks! Will do soon.
