I think there could have been a better way to put the tree up. By a crane or something. I think that it is rather stupid to have a helicopter flying about 100 feet high alongside buildings and cables and support beams. Not to mention the danger it poses to people on the ground.

You can see the cable that got caught on the main rotor on the right side close to the corner of the tower, it gets sucked closer to the rotors and then got caught..

This was not the pilots fault at all. Wires are the biggest danger to helos. He was operating in a dangerous environment, but he did not fly into anything, the cable was not secured and therefore impacted the main rotor. It looks like the longline didn't disengage and someone out of shot is trying to dislodge it, but in doing so made the line impact the rotor. This is purely speculation on my part. The main thing is that he walked away. Any landing you walk away from is a good one.
