  • i saw led zeppelin 4 time's and bruce cockburn 4 time's and understanding each artist helped me to understand the other. - go figure. yes,i went to my last zep' show in '77 - i was 18 yr's old. i went to see mr cockburn (1st time) just after the singer had return'd from nicragua ( .. likely didn't spell that right). i was flabbergasted listening to him recall the rocket launching's. (&) damn if he isn't a rocker. Jimmy Page should play such beautifull guitar's.

    led zeppelin were good 2.

  • Love the sad feeling this Song gives. Great voice and band.

  • Beautiful through and through.

  • Beautiful through and through.

  • This song makes me so happy.

  • I can't believe it, but I can not remember the name of the album that he put out that sounded almost Asian. It had the line in it "stiff bamboo" . Does anyone remember the name of the album? I had it on cassette tape and now can't replace it because I'm a child of the 70's and can't remember anything, lol.......

  • @dnasoff try googling the song or bruce cockburn albums

  • @halterman666 I know it now...It was Dancing in Paradise on the World of Wonders album. I already bought it, lol!!!

  • @dnasoff well im happy to hear that! it's really a great song, can't wait to see him in 2011!

  • that was frunny

  • He's a badass but sheesh man loose the ear rings.

  • @minwav Dude, it was 1992. Cut the man some slack. ;)

  • Tomorrow night - Bruce in concert - then an after hours soiree with him!

  • roads of the earth and roads of the spirit,,

i'll be a child of the wind to the end of my days's

  • To lichtarbeiter~ Just want to point out that this video (and hence the artist's style) are from nearly 20 YEARS AGO. For the time, the look was if anything, avant garde.. In fact i think one can safely say it still is. For example, the earrings. No man would dare wear that style now, let alone then. .. Incredible musician, fascinating man...

  • I think he looks really cool. Very geeky. Kind of like the son of a scientist.

  • What's up with the bass player's reaction at 0:17? If looks could kill...

  • I believe the Bass player is blind!

  • Oops--didn't know that. I take back my comment. Sorry.

  • yes!! bruce just sang this in our living room saturday night!!

  • A masterpiece of classic music.

    Ti amo Chiara Russo

    Luca Bresciani

  • @Luchitch Saw Bruce in Tucson, AZ many years ago and got to meet him backstage. He said he wrote this song in Tucson years before that night. What a great man! And what a great song.

  • Love it. I saw Bruce play in Edmonton a few weeks ago and he played this as part of the encore, it was magical.

  • awesome music

  • beautyul song aewsome artist

  • Tonight I listened and watched trough time

by Bruce's music & lyrics. This one is precious too. Close to the skin, like all his fab. songs.

Wish to enjoy Bruce one time again

at the Melkweg -Milkyway- tnx Bruce for all.

  • A true musical artist in EVERY sense of the word, what an inspiration on many levels...

  • as a good a melody that Bruce ever wrote, and he wrote a lot of great ones!

  • I love it very much

    Thanks

  • Thank you for posting this video. If not for you, I never would have this pleasure. I've seen Bruce in concert 5 times, but I don't recall him playing this live before.

Bruce is like no other. Figure skating is my favorite sport, and I've always choreographed routines in my head to Bruce's passionate music.

  • This guy has no peers.

  • I love Bruce Cockburn and this song, and all his others as well for that matter...

  • I freaking love Bruce

  • Mark O'Connor and Bruce Cockburn on the same stage. If anyone these days had any sense of value they would realize that they've just been blessed by the saint of music.

  • I'm so grateful to hear this song again. Helena, Montana in the early 90's, my daughter Julia, and emerging from a deadly depression all are called back with the chorus of this song.

  • Ah man, of course, M O'conner and E meyer. Tx, this is great.

  • wow, the way he sings really ties in to the emotion and visual of the song

  • bruce da man!!!

  • Bruce for the win!

  • Man this is really good!!!

  • grande bruce! un mito!

  • Cockburn is hands down one of the greatest song writers in the world.

    ...and he's Canadian. :)

  • Grazie Bruce, riesci a toccare la mia anima

con con la dolcezza della poesia,e il suono

    della tua chitarra.

  • One of my favorite artist of all time, and definitely one of my fav songs. thanks for posting.

  • demasiado.this guy is amazing.

  • so hairdstyles are more important than being heartfelt and intelligent? where have i been?

  • gotta love cockburn

  • this is a really good song, thanks for posting!

  • One of my Favorite musician/ writers from one of my favorite albums of his. Nothin But A Burning Light

  • Good method, I think. He is making people think about the issues, never exluding the people the message is most intended for.

  • hey, stop knocking his hair! my darling angel can wear his hair any blessed way he chooses! lol.. :-P

  • wow!!!! viva bruce !!

  • Astute observation, senseEH ... hair truly is the revealer of integrity and depth ... I'm thinking Bruce should hire a better PR person to manage his honesty

  • I've loved Bruce for decades. Now that I've caught up with him on U Boob I have to ask him - 'How much for the hair cut man?!' Neil doesn't follow any trends. Love the messages but to live the part you gotta look the part.

  • Bruce is a person of passion who dares to seek and profess the truth. When you travel to Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mozambique, and Iraq to observe and recount the ravages of war, then and only then will you have any sort of credibility to resort to any sort of banality regarding hair style.

  • "Hair hair"...Yep. I've seen him perform twice. Even lived in his hometown for a few years. I hope Bruce will never give up the good fight. He looks folkier these days anyway. Psychology is a funny thing....especially mine..FUBAR.

  • Thanks to my Buffalo roomie, Louise, for introducing me to Bruce, and to my pal Michael for updating my attention to this great artist!

  • this kicks ass.. rlongated format but great.. Thanks

  • Brilliant - thanks !
