  • This was my absolute favorite show growing up when I was like 3-5 yrs old lol. LOVE IT!

  • I loved this show! I am in my early 30's now and remember when it used to air...Thank you YOUTUBE!

  • @Foxlocke I know, it's an amazing show. :) TV Ontario's public archive online also posted some episodes. If enough people watch them, they might see there's an interest. :)

  • brings back memories

  • mrs.pennypacker reminded me of mrs, garret from "the facts of life" i dk why.

  • @xLightsOutx218 She reminds me of Ma Gorg from Fraggle Rock (probably because it's the same voice actress, hehe). ;)

  • My sister and I used to love this show when we were kids in the late 80s.. God bless youtube

  • I use to watch this show when I was kid. Honestly, I had forgotten all about it. This show brings back wonderful memoories.

  • I used to have a hat when i was like 2 or 3 years old, it was my Jeff Hat, and when I had it on I was a real boy, and when it was off, I was a mannequin.. I wonder what my analyst would say about that! *woody allen voice*

  • @Pun2404 When I was a kid I used to pose with the mannequins in the store, actually ended up tricking someone one time, lol. Probably have this show to thank. ;)

  • I love the internet.

  • Thanks for the nostalgia. I used to love this show when I was a kid.

  • lol mrs.pennypacker love it!

  • I used to feel real bad for Jeff. How would you feel if you turned into a mannequin every time you lost your hat? lol

  • How did Waldo break into the department store after hours? This show was amazingly fucked!

  • I'm sooooooo glad to see this show on youtube. Thanks for posting this episode.

  • THIS WAS THE BEST SHOW EVER MADE

  • I miss this show will show it to my girls

  • this warms my heart!

  • how come all the tickets on the show are always for 10$?? lmao

  • People think I'm crazy when I talk about this. I watchd this went I was lik in 1st grade. Must have only been ppl wit cable

  • omg i cant believe i found this. I haven't seen this since I was six. wow, now people won't think i'm crazy this show IS real!!!

  • haven't seen this in forever. i used to watch this show and nobody knows what i am talking about. now there is proof.

  • Since when does an opera only cost $10? That Jeff is a big gay. And I saw Jodie in a porno once.

  • I still have a live show on tape somewhere. I have seen over hundred times when I was a kid. My parents had take the tape away.

  • @whatthehell1082 That's how I am I take away my daughter's Spongebob DVD's . Sad to see how times have changed...to the worst...lol.

  • wow..anyone else sometimes tries the "secret words" sometimes?

  • I LOVED THIS SHOW, I WANTED MUFFIE'S HOUSE. IT WAS MY DREAM TO GET LOCKED IN AN APARTMENT STORE WHEN I WAS A KID. THIS WAS GREAT T.V MY DAUGHTER WILL BENEFIT FROM POSTINGS LIKE THIS ONE. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  • holy muppets.my wife used my u-tube account.thats funny.

  • You know Jeff and Jodie do the "Today's Special" in the back room. haha.

  • 5:20 badumdumdumdum forever??

  • I am freaking the fuck out. I feel so old!

  • An Opera as my first choice outside the store? No thank you! I'd go to a bar and get myself a manachan girl.!

  • I'm actually visually impaired, but I was able to watch this show when I was little. BTW, Jeff and Jodie do make a great couple.

  • Sam is a shitty security guard. Waldo and Mort manage to break into a closed building and sneak up to the Children's Department unnoticed by that idiot Sam.

  • "What should I do with my few hours outside of the store?"

    "Here are some opera tickets"

    "Oh...thanks."

  • Sam Chrenshaw looks like he hits the bottle at work. What a drunken mess.

"what if a burglar comes in?"

How about you do your job, idiot.

  • @bestiality LMAO, hell yeah.

  • LOVED IT!! i was born in 79 and watched it on channel 13 TVO , and LOVED Muffy the rhyming mouse! the first truth hiphoper!

  • I'm in Montreal. I believe I watched this on PBS vermont, ch 57. There was also Sesame Street, Polka Dot Door, Doctor Who (there was some kind of weird and scary computer. I think it was called the ghostreader). There was another show that thought chinese.

  • @vmelkon

You may be thinking of something else, since you lived in Montreal... But did you mean "Ghostwriter?" If it was ghostwriter, it wasn't about a scary computer at all. It was about a friendly glowing ghost orb that could only read and interact with letters. Sometimes he'd posses Jamal's computer to communicate so he'd have an infinite number of letters to use, since he could only communicate with existing physical letters.

  • @vmelkon

Oh, I just searched "Ghostreader" on youtube, and found 1 video. If that's what you were talking about... then nevermind. That's creepy as hell. O_o

  • @AisuSeijin No, that's not it. The computer was integrated into a wall. It wrote in big white letters on a blue background (just like that Jamal's computer). It talked in a women's voice, loud and robot-like. It was on the first floor of some place and the front door was there and the room was dark. The computer was on the right side of the room. I think there was always these 2 kids who solved problems with the help of the computer.

  • @vmelkon The big blue monitor robot, and the other is a typewriter that rises out of the desk? Maybe you are thinking of Read All About it?

  • @fornello123 Holy Moly! I know it was real. I knew I didn't imagine all that. lol

Wikipedia even has an article on "Read All About it" and the typewriter is there.

  • LOVED this show as a kid! My BF remembered it too but neither of us could remember the name! I found the name today on a different clip and I was like OMG, THAT'S what it was called!

  • Jodie If your out there, I Luuuuuuv you

  • im pretty sure that jeff was my first crush.

  • Wow. I remember i loved this show so much my mom made me a Jeff outfit.

  • The Show was shot at Simpson's Department Store which now The Hudson Bay Company in downtown Toronto as Yonge & Queen

  • Strange, from 7-11 years old it was, Transformers, GI Joe, Visionaries, and somehow this made it into the line up every weekday for me. I loved this program! Thanks for posting this.

  • i grew up on this show and havent seen it in over 20 years...ahh memorys

  • I am 24 am I the youngest who remember watching this as a kid???? Thumbs up if you are older and you watched this!

  • @jasper756 I'm a little older than you and I watched this show ev'ryday on Nickelodeon. :)

  • KNow if they will be on DVD? Started thinking of Willoby tales the other day... ep when Muffy had mouse tonsilitis

  • All these years I still remember the magic words to turn jeff into a human lol. So many great memories.

  • thanks

  • Yes thank you for uploading this great 80's classic !

I though I would never see it again.

  • this was my one of my favorite shows as a child....

  • omg i loved this show too bad kids today wont know what this is

  • OMG! I used to watch this on CBC when I was younger. The theme song was catchy.

  • I can't believe I found this. people think this show was my immagination also. I knew it existed

  • This episode was so lame. What if Sam or Jodie needed to take a giant piss or crap while holding onto the handles???? Would they have to do it on the floor?

  • I'm curious why they made this episode when they had an earlier episode titled "Opera" (and that episode was the better of the two). IMHO, the later episodes of Today's Special were not as good as the earlier ones. If I were Jeff, and I had a chance to go outside of the store, an opera would not be my first choice of places to go.

  • gosh this brings back Memories! I feel so old!

  • Nerene Virgin (Jodie) is active in politics now. She just has a sparkling personality here on this show. Always wondered what happened to her.

  • Is Today's Special on DVD? This takes me back to being a preschooler in the early 80's. I will be 29 soon and I am getting emotional watching this.

  • This was my favorite show when I was a little girl! This really brought back memories!! I can't believe how this really made my day! And none of my friends know or remember this show, they thought I was crazy!

  • I completely forgot about this show! I loved it as a kid (good Lord, I feel old now!). I always thought Jodi was so pretty! I didn't realize back then that most of the shows all us 80's kids watched were Canadian-made. They were so great! (I've only come across one person so far who's heard of Zoobilee Zoo). • Same here! Its really amazing to look at this clip to be thrown back to the days when things on TV just seemed way more exciting, with so many choices, warm and creative (I mean how come shows like this do no exist anymore? Guess its all that tech and internet).

  • Me too, I used to watch this show all the time. I'm scared to admitt it but, I still have some episodes on tape.

  • My dad's name is Mort, it drove him nuts that it was the name of the country mouse, too! Thank you so much for uploading this!!!

  • @ninjafretshadow I got chills when I found It too.I loved this show so much growing up.

  • @ninjafretshadow For so many years I had no idea what the show was called. People thought I was making it up when I described it lol!! It does exist. I LOVED this show when I was a kid.

  • @silverose1209 omg I had the same problem I started to wonder did the show really exist...lol

  • For years I had a memory about this show. I couldn't remember what it was called, I remembered the maniquen, the black lady, and Sam going in the elevator...how cool to see it on youtube!

  • I used to watch this show when I was 8 or 9, and it took me forever to remember the name, All i could remember is a manequin and a mouse....also this must be one of the longest intros to a tv show ever!

  • do you have the episode where Muffy goes to the hospital?

  • soundslike they went back & re-recorded the theme & spoken vocals yet the sing remained the same from the early years

  • i got a little choked up myself. i used to do the same after getting home from school. i also remember pin wheel or something? the only episode i remember tho was when jeff threw a whole bunch of cards in the air as a way of finding a lost item somewhere in the house. time flies so fast. i miss being a kid.
