I love vtwins and have one rsv mille 2000 but i dont have problems to say that a japonese 1000cc are much faster than may bike.... but for me its enough speed and the acelaration its very strong its cool... The Desmosedici RR GP7 could beat any Japanese bike in a straight line, and quite easily.

Who needs top-end speed on the street? I'd rather have Ducati's low-end and mid-range torque for street riding and road racing any day. Ducati riders are currently 1st and 2nd in WorldSBK, in case you didn't know that.

I wasn't disrespecting the Ducati on the track i'd never do that , it's amazing and beutiful at the same time. I'd take only an MV Augusta over it but thats do to looks only! But I'd take an inline bike it I wanted top in speed which we did alot where i lived because of the long straits, and you will need good top end when it comes to drag racing 1 mile stretches like on alot of vids here. But stop being a Ducati fanboy it belongs on a race track not a dragstrip!

Ducati already has a world champion. His name is Casey Stoner. In Ducati's 5th year of racing its only 4-cylinder, they beat the all Japanese at their own game. And then there's domination of WorldSBK, with Ducati in 1st and its riders in 1st and 2nd.

Sounds like you've never heard of MV Agusta. They make the F4 RR 312 1078, otherwise known as the world's fastest production superbike. The 312 comes from its top speed of 312 kph.

@lnromandude WRONG. You are forgetting something. And that's the power of the i4 spinning at formula one speeds. The CBR 1000 high end torque is far more than the ducats. it has TWO sets of fuel injectors.

Wrong again! no bike is even close to having the same torque as a ducati. look up the specs or look up an actual dyno curve. it doesn't matter what the speed of the engine is...I-4s are meant to rev up high cuz otherwise they don't put out any power...V-twins have all that power throughout the entire throttle band. either way, all 1000cc bikes can put out more than any person can handle, so it's really all about the rider in drag races like this
