  • Thank you for sharing this at YouTube. I don't think you're a chicken at all.

  • It suppose to hurt durning and after , and your not suppose to move when the shot is in you.... It hurts no matter how long the shot has been sitting out...Only been taking it a year and it still hurts .. It the medican that is in it that helps you...

  • I've done mtx shots in my tummy, it's actually less painful. More fatty, well for some of us ahahaha. Is Humira working for you, I'm doing my first shot today for Rheumatoid Yikes

  • I thought it was procedure to do your first shot at the Dr. office. So that they con monitor you for adverse reactions for the first 20 minutes. Just had my first shot 3 days ago. Hurts like a son of a bitch.

  • i took my shot right after i watched this lol

  • I've been on Humira for over a year now. It helps in some ways, thank God! But, I still have to go the bathroom many times a day. A few hours after I inject myself in my belly, a hive like, red itchy rash shows up & ends up as large as 5 inches in diameter. I also feel pretty beat for 3 days after my dose. Also, I feel soo flu like 90% of the time with this disease & drug. Anyone experience all this?

  • @EkAks your probably allergic to it

  • you're supposed to just push it (click) OW!!! seriously, i think they are gonna start my on this humira crap. ive got AS and i dont think im gonna like it too much, but ive heard its good stuff and anything is better than all this friggin PAIN!!

  • took my first shot today...it was not very eventful or painful. iced for 2 minutes and injected in belly fat. lol The I went on with my day.

  • lol right in the leg muscle! its better if you let it get room temp and if you do it more to the inside where there is less muscle. then maybe ice it after if you feel necessary.

  • do it in your belly. its not as bad

  • Yeah the toughest thing is definitely making sure you hold it on after pressing the button, as it is easy to get careless and snap it back out of reaction. I've been taking Humira for JRA and Crohn's for a little while now; at least it doesn't get me sick to my stomach like Methatrexate.

  • Your lucky. Ive been on Methotrexate for 3 years and i just got the humira 5 days ago. and im still on the methotrexate and folic acid Which kinda sucks. But it beats the hell out of taking 12 different kinds of pills for Bilatral uveitus and anklyosing spondilitus! XD

  • @TheHellSpawn000 Im taking Methotrexate,Humira, folic acid and Sulondac also. But Im happy with it because it does work for me.

  • The shot really isn't that bad people....

  • The humira shot isnt bad yea. as long as you leave it out for 20-30 minutes. I think that people just Expect the worst ad their scared of the shot. thats why their all shakey.

  • Thank you so much for doing that! I have to start my Humira this week & I have been so scared! I have been "shooting" methotrexate for months & it's been no big deal at all, but I have heard Humira is way worse! You helped me immensly. I see this was done in July of 08, I hope you are doing well with whatever you are taking it for. (mine is RA) Thanks again, Peace!

  • oh god! I was so stressed for you. the anticipation was killing me. I have to admit, you did make me less scared of taking the shot. at the end i was laughing so hard i have tears in my eyes as i type this. not laughing at your discomfort, just that you made it seem funny. i am now less scared. thank you sooo much.

  • It's much easier in the stomach but I'm sure you've discovered that by now.

  • you should let the alchohol dry on your leg before you inject it and that might take some of the pain away.

  • I had my second shot this morning. But this time, I let it set out for 30 minutes. The injection was less painful. But, my leg has been hurting more after the shot. Maybe I was just so happy to get the first one 'done' that I didn't think about the 'after pain'...:)

Otherwise, these were my 'free' shots that my doc gave me. Now, Blue Cross is saying no to Humira and only approving Enbrel and Remicade. Strange...don't want to do this every week...

    Anyone have thoughts/info on Remicade?

  • great video. i have been taking humira since may 2008 for rheu. arthritis. no side effects yet but i find if you leave it out of the fridge for an hour it doesn't sting as much. also i am not brave enough to do it in my leg, i find the stomach easier - plenty of flesh there - on me anyway!

  • definetly take it out of the fridge and let it get to room temp. iv never had a cold one, but the doc told me it doesnt hurt as much.
