  • You have no idea how serious this is. I was SO SICK, I left for a year. I'd never in a million years go back. It stole my life!

  • The type of stress you talk about is because there is a labour system that a person has to work in to provide his/her self with basic needs - food, water, shelter, warmth, clothing, etc. People pre-occupied with working to provide these needs for self and family, and always concerned / fearful about holding their job, won't be able to live as a human being. Not even communism or socialism offers an escape from this. But provideing a set of money at birth for every individual's basic needs will.

  • What also happens in the labor system is that we don't have time to think anymore.

If a person received 1 year of off time and spent it thinking the world would change.

It can't be The American Dream anymore. It has to be The Planet Earth Dream for everyone.

Everyone is entitled to the dream.

  • Good video. :)

  • You need to relocate your script because it's so easy to follow your eyes reading the script that is distracts from what you were saying. Sorry not saying, reading. Reading a lecture! Not gripping stuff man. Throw away the sript altogether and just tell us what you think.

  • How do you know he didn't write the script himself, in order to better put his opinion into words?

Not everyone is an ace at giving speeches. If he ditched his script, he would probably throw in a lot of "ums" and long pauses while he thought about what to say next, and you would complain about that instead. There's nothing wrong with writing down what you want to say in order to make a smoother presentation.

  • I don't know if he wrote it or not. I'm only addressing the delivery. There is nothing wrong with making notes or reading a script but you should consider your audience and your credibility if you have difficulty in your delivery. This delivery is probably the worst I have ever seen outside of comedy sketches which usually feature a certain Texan former President.

  • LMAO!

Yea, we all know about THAT guy!

    xD

    Well said, friend.

  • the guys not an actor decervens.. he's just trying to get some useful info out there.

  • You don't bloody say? And there I was thinking it was Robert Duval's more talented brother. No seriously, I never for a moment thought he was an actor (hard as that is to believe) but I reckon if he wants to get info out there he might be better off writing it down, wrapping it around a rock and lobbing it through a window.

  • Health care is one of the most corrupt sectors of the modern economy. Doctors have been corrupted by 'Big Pharma' and they dole out pills like sweets. Here in GB the NHS is a many headed hydra sucking billions of £££ each year from the taxpayers. Big Pharma doesn't won't to cure anyone's illness as that would cut their profit margins. I think that it is bordering on evil to deliberately prolong a person's illness - perhaps for the rest of their lives - just to make money.

  • We need complementary therapies in the NHS more

  • corporate social control scheme, manipulating the public into believing whatever benefits the corporate bottom line at any cost to health of life itself, for no ultimate bottom line to our own future as beings. existing less and less, to be distracted more and more, for someone else's short term and ultimately pointless, poorly invested benefit.

  • Thyme.

  • wow, very patriotic, clearly an overstatment, as if america was superior to the world? lol , i think oscar wild once said: america is the only country who went from barbarism to decadentism in one step. besides america isn't without a reason in a huge crisis.

  • hey america has taken on the largest debt in history

  • For XXThe RealMcCoyXX - Thanks for your concern. Since I was losing my hair anyway, I decided to shave it all off. It's purely a personal choice, and not related to illness. Peter McCarthy

  • good video

  • Peter, hope you don't mind me asking but you've been bald of a long time now, are you on leucemia?

  • People should smoke a bowl everyday I bet that would mellow them out and drop their stress levels to that of a playful puppy.

  • I hate it when people say the Canadian government subsidizes our health care costs or that we get our health care for free. We pay 24% tax from all our pay cheques, then another 13% on everything we buy, an additional tax when buying a car, the list goes on and on. We pay for our health care, we pay out the nose for it. It is NOT free.

As for the stress.. Some people handle it differently. I for one like a job with stress. I live for a challenge; stress and pressure doesn't bother me.

  • It is a contradiction to say stress doesn't bother you. Maybe you aren't really stressed.

  • For what it's worth, hardleesecure, U.S. taxes are about the same. Taxpayer advocacy groups estimate Americans pay about 40% of their income in taxes each year, given the federal and state income taxes (often about 20% of income), sales taxes (8% or so of everything many Americans buy, except food), social security taxes (over 14% of most people's income), property taxes, and miscellaneous taxes hidden in the price of goods like gasoline, alcoholic beverages, and selected other products.

  • You guys really pay that much tax? I guess it must be the 1 trillion+ dollar budget for the DOD that does it :/

Well.. It takes a lot to get me to 'stress out'. The key to it all is to be laid back. One must understand that they cannot control everything around them. Expect the unexpected (i know it sounds cliche), surround yourself with competent people, fire or demote the inept, when everyone is paid well, treated well and easy going, then everyone is happy, even when the pressure is on. ;)

  • Yep, Hardleecure, that's our tax rate; and you're right, the military is a big cause. We have regrettably grown into an empire.

The ability of people to live life with low stress probably varies. Unemployment in the US (counting people who have given up trying to find work) is now around 17%, & many of the remaining 83% are anxious about being next to go. One reason our productivity is rising is that people are frantically working ever harder, not to get ahead but to avoid falling behind.

  • Or to avoid being next on the list to get laid off. Sad state of things it is. :/ It'll end one day. :)

  • This guy is an alien.

  • lol, that was classic,

  • Is it just me or is there something different looking about this guy than usual?? Sounds like an interesting book.

  • @thorkyll he used to have hair but is now bald.

  • That's it! Thankyou! Thought I was going crazy or something.

  • Corporate Americans - we do more and more with less and less until we are doing everything with nothing. And even though the jobs are gone, we still want it all.

  • I've been stressed out since Jr. High school...

  • Man is not designed to be a machine, an automaton. Capitalism demands that people do the same thing all day every day, which produces a mind-numbing monotony that is psychologically repellent. Could you sleep for 12 hours a day, or watch television, read, hang out with friends or play sport on any of your hobbies for that amount of time each day? The answer is a very obvious no! Stress can be defined as doing something you don't want to do, or being somewhere you don't want to be.

  • MissLadyboy007 -- there is an old, tongue-in-cheek alternative definition to stress I recall hearing years ago: "Stress is when the mind overrides the body's impulse to kick the living @!&^! out of somebody." In seriousness, though, you've raised a good point.
