No, this is just a way for you to further showcase who you are for an interesting job. We figured that allowing individuals a chance to represent themselves in a multi-media fashion would be welcomed by anyone applying for employment in the entertainment/new media field.
What you can do is use Windows Movie maker, import JPG or GIF graphics, and record an audio track to go with the pictures. Movie Maker comes with Windows under "Accessories" and there are two cool free audio programs: Goldwave and Audacity that I recommend. You can plug any old microphone into your mic jack on the computer, even a pair of headphones work (check which side is getting the input) and you can talk into them for audio.
I downloaded the program, but, honestly, it doesn't really make sense to me. I've tried playing around with it, trying to record some info and play it back, but nothing's working. This is a really cool way to interview potential applicants, but I guess I'm just not technologically advanced enough to comply :(
This is your opportunity to respond to the qualifications being searched for in the job description in a creative and unique manner. It could be a simple introduction with an explanation of your skills or it could be something more inventive. Just remember that you are applying for a job and that we are looking for certain skills.
so I'm getting an extension right? because I just got an email
The deadline is by Thursday midnight. Not much time I know but all we need is a simple statement with your name, background, and why you think you are great for the social media job. You can put up your own video and send us a link to it. Or you can simply post a video response.
We have to decide on Friday. Many people have asked: the starting pay is $8/hr and we have both full and part time positions.
so who were the victors, i'm curious to see these winning videos.

...subject lines, very key...
My subject line was "Media Intern" Nothing special there to single me out. 320 views?
...So we paired it down a bit and are inviting you to do the next step. There was just way too much to read....
Sure our "video responses" aren't the social networking project? 320 views? 320 views?

I wouldn't suggest using suc language in any question you may have. Though this is a creative application, it is a process for gaining employment.

Should this be an example of a Viral Video, or just a small introduction to our greatness?
