THompson is king! It's hard not to use superlatives when talking about this man. His guitar playing, his compositions, his soul, his humour in concert, THANK GOD for Thompson.
RT's albums could easily pass for separate greatest hits compilations - they're really that good. He plays circles around Clapton and writes lyrical circles around Townsend.
I don't know! I love it. I guess the real question is, "why isn't HE more popular?" I guess he's an acquired taste for some, but I loved him right away. Wonderful lyrics here!!
Always thought this little ditty was at least on a par with 'Vincent Black Lightning 1952'Yet another great performance by R.T. with Pete Zorn (mandolin) and Danny Thompson ('grown-ups bass')

Richard Thompson absolutely RULES music.
(and when I say "RULES" I mean with an iron fist like Stalin!)

RT's great compassion for the lonely and the despised is rarely better demonstrated than in this gorgeous song.
This man might be a storyteller and poet on par with the greatest in the English language.

At the very least, it should have been used in some sort of London tourism board advert on TV.
