mac and PC are equal, which one is better is up to the user. you can't simply say mac sucks because they are expensive and that PC is better because they are cheaper. from my experience with both PC and mac it really does depend on what you need the computer for and how much you are willing to spend. for those rich people yeah they will get a mac because they feel they are going to get out what they pay. but for the people on a budget macs are a big HELL NO.

Namely, 2-3 year old hardware configs. For that price, I'd expect at least a 256GB SSD drive.

Most companies use PCs to work, hence more hackers and malware creators work on PCs, and how to infect them. However, if there were more Macs, they would also have a ton of malware. Moreover, when a Mac gets a virus or any malfuntion, its nearly impossible to fix. Most likely, you buy a new one. A PC is so easy to fix.

@b3av1s1234 Apple are obviously doing something right. Their profit margins rival Microsoft and IBM even though they only have like 10% of the PC market. Because in the past they dominated the smart phone market (although that's now over) and continue to dominate the tablet market. Apple has slick marketing which gets morons into buy thier stuff.

Any company that charges $200 to upgrade from 4GB of 3-year old 1333Mhz DDR3 to 8GB.....while one can buy 12GB of 2000Mhz DDR3 for $284 is definitely price-gouging a consumer base that isn't the slightest bit aware of what they're paying for. Namely, 2-3 year old hardware configs. For that price, I'd expect at least a 256GB SSD drive.

Despite the increase in average age for getting married this custom has continued. @vistarox the only Windows OS that is decreasing in sales and use is XP while 7 and even Vista is going up, and Mac sells are only increasing in North America and Europe, while in every other continent the Mac sells are so negligible it might as well not even exist. And fun fact, more people in the world use Vista than OSX and iOS combined.

You don't just go to a website and all of a sudden you've been hacked, you'd have to download some sort of software then either you execute the software or it's programmed to activate itself when something else happens. Most companies use PCs to work, hence more hackers and malware creators work on PCs, and how to infect them. However, if there were more Macs, they would also have a ton of malware. Moreover, when a Mac gets a virus or any malfuntion, its nearly impossible to fix. Most likely, you buy a new one. A PC is so easy to fix.

- Viruses: Mac has 5% of the market to Windows 92% and let's face it, who wants to steal things from unemployed hipsters typing all day on Macs in Starbucks hoping people see them
- A PC will always cost 30-50% less than Macs
- If you had a 50% markup on product purely because of a brand name you WOULD offer better support

@windson7 Well, OS X has no real anti-piracy measures, so unless you walked in with a Hackintosh or something, they'd have no way of knowing your copy of OS X wasn't perfectly legit. Even if they asked you for your install disc for some reason, you could say you lost it — it does happen.

@webgier have you seen the new screen for the imac? it has the best screen resolution ever on a compuer. The speed in the core makes perfect scene, cause it HAS a better core a quad-core. A shiny display just makes the computer above and beyond, like everything apple does. Have you heard of icloud, with just tapping a button all your music, apps, are connected to all your apple devices. I haven't heard of any pc doing that. It has a wireless keyboard mouse, a facetime HD camera (will continue)

@danhoot12 A pc also have a quad core. If you want, you can have a 6 core processor. You can change the parts of a pc like you want an whenever you want. That is not possible on a mac and especially not on a imac. A glary screen looks good, but is not helpful for work. There is no such service for a pc because you dont need it. And by the way you can have the same thing with dropbox or other software, its no big deal. All this stuff you can have much cheaper on a pc.

@webgier (continuing) as I was saying it has an hd facetime camera, the intel quad core has i5 and i7 processors making all things faster and better. It has AMD graphics which are as twice as fast as any other computer. It has thunderbold data, which lets you connect high performance peripherals to a single port. and it is just 1199. and there is still a lot more that will take me thousands of comments to explain.

The core is shit, the gpu is total shit, only 4 gb ram, so you pay 1000 for a hd cam. All the specs you can configure on a 2800$ mac you can get for about 1300$ on a pc. And you can still upgrade as much as you can. If you want to upgrade a mac you have to throw it away and buy a new one
