I wish the Republicans and anti-gay Democrats would grow up already and stop fearing gays so much. What is there to be all worried about?? Israel and Argentina (to name a few) have had gays in the military for years, and nothing bad has happened as a result of it. Are we some kind of "special case"?

Don't Ask, Don't Tell is hurting our military. I hate those anti-gay folks who say "Oh, well, what do you know? I trust the military commanders because they know what's best on this." Oh, really? The General who openly said that homosexuality is immoral, based only on his upbringing and not the facts (homosexuality has been off the APA's mental illness classification since the 70s)? Screw that! It's based on commanders and Congressmen's bigotry. That's what DADT is.

And screw all those assholes who say that giving Americans equality to serve is somehow "social engineering." How the fuck is it social engineering? So protecting people's civil liberties and rights is all of a sudden a bad thing?? What's wrong with women in the military? I haven't seen any big disasters because of it. Gays in the military has been as old as Sparta, at least, if not older. Spartans trained their soldiers to be gay to improve morale. Same with Romans, I believe.

They really need to get ride of DADT. I spent 10 years in the military and saw a few good soldiers discharged because of it.
