@wodanowitz seriously? do you own this awesome truck? cos i heard from the government fuel efficiency site that the H1 gets about 10 mpg average ont he road. so average between highway and city driving
@drumsalltime ....... the white we could drive at the testtrack was a new 98 Turbodiesel. I had back at this old times a green one. And yes, fuel efficiency is poor ... but better as an H2 with gas engine.
A Niva can not ford 75cm. rivers, a Niva has not the same ground clearance, so it would highcenter, a Niva has no lockers in front and rear axle, a Niva runs to fast in Low Gear. A Niva has no traction controll, a Niva has no TCI System, a Niva has no frame and and and and and.
This testtrack is not for heavy offroad, this testtrack is for Drivers that never have driven offroad. To practice and learn how to drive a hummer. The hummer can do things, your Niva would break into pieces ;-)
Dondt get me wrong, a Niva is no bad 4x4. Permanent 4x4, independent Suspension. It's a good car for fucking bad russian and sibirian roads, but you can not compare it with a hummer.
There were some trees fallen down into the swamp in the path of our Hummer. And she was not sure, if we could make it. The water was about 2 feet deep, swampy and that logs under water. But, we went on without problems, pushed it away instead of driving over it.
@22sec I always hated the stock fuel pump ticking noise, never did like the OE pumps. Mines on the way out, I picked up a new AC/Delco unit thats more quiet and reliable then the older factory units, same volume and pressure, I'll post you tube videos of the difference. I'm just surprised it's that loud on a new truck in this video.
Your right. 1998 had the new Turbodiesel engine and still BTM. TT4 wich followed in 1999 is trash. I could compare both of them on a testtrack with traction obstacles. TT4 startet sometimes and endless wheelspin before brakes came in. With BTM I locked the axles in seconds.
hello A59494, this was in 1997 as every Hummer owner had the right, to go to the Hummer factory and get an afternoon of Hummer driving lessons for free, including the visit of the factory. Filmed in octobre 97, we became a new 98 Turbodiesel Wagon to drive. It was from AM General.
so was that your truck? or were you test driving it?
