  • I was at such a low point in my life in 94-95 but the good memories from these playoff runs will always stick with me.

  • Where's Olajuwon 3 pointer? And the shake move against Robinson?

    Great ending, Olajuwon blocking

  • the DREAM!!

  • Hell yeah where is the Dream Shake on David Robinson?? Actually the entire Spurs series as a whole, Olajuwon destroyed Robinson, Rodman and the Spurs.

  • uhhh wheres the dream shake hakeem did on robinson?

  • YEAAAHHH!!! This is my team. I grow up looking the Houston Rockets and their leader " The Dream" Hakeem Olajuwon. Drexler, Maxwell, Cassel, Kenny Smith, Horry (the fresh prince of Bel Air´s twin) Otis Thorpe, Mario Elli, Carlos Herrera (from Venezuela). WOW !!! One of the greates and powerfull team of the 90´s

  • @cirimio Anyone else notice these highlights aren't even from 94-95??? I know they didn't play the knicks in the playoffs in 95 lol.

  • @atm1919 dude, 1994 season and 1995 season.. finals of 94 is knicks vs. rockets.. finals of 95 is rockets vs. magics... savvy.?

  • That last one was game 7, not game 6. Because that block won the championship for the Rockets and the series went to seven.

  • @rocketsguy03 actually it was game 6 and it forced a game 7 in houston

  • @rocketsguy03 You are not a Rockets fan anymore, your license has been revoked for your comment. Everybody knows that block saved the Rockets from losing 4-2 and forced a game 7 which the Rockets would also win.

  • one of the most explosive, dangerous teams ever.

  • @MizNelson

ugly for your stupid ass, but beautiful beyond belief for the people of Houston.

  • @MizNelson Ugly like your face. What are you, a Knicks fan or something?

  • Clyde Drexler was my favorite player, his career was basically over and then all the sudden got traded to Houston and helped win the championship....wow, what an amazing run that year.

  • What great memories!!! Those were great days for sure. I thought for sure Vernon Maxwell's big 3 at the end of Game 7 against the Knicks would have made the list. That's alrigh though, all great moments.

I should add that the 1995 Western Conference Finals only went 6 games.

  • what was the score, for the western confercne finals game 7?

  • 90-84.

  • my bad ppl, i was thinking game 7 finals!

  • game 7 score from the western semi was 115-114.

  • why the hell isn't dream's domination of robinson in the first two games in this top 10? HELLO!!!

  • In the first two games??? What about the 42 in the five? That series was ALL of Olajuwon, not just two games

  • rudy tom is such a great coach.. he had to have been a huge factor in these rocket runs... What do you say to a team that starts a series 0-2 like against phoenix

Also how about that olajuwon move #5 on the countdown

  • GO ROCKETS!! i grew up wathcing rockets games..as a fellow houstonian and rockets fan

  • It's funny that my fave moment of this incredible run has not been mentioned by either this list or my own list that I've just shared; and that would be the last Rockets field goal in the 1995 Finals - Olajuwon hitting a three-pointer in the 112-101 clincher off an assist from Drexler. How sweet it is!

  • 8. Reigning MVP Olajuwon "goes off", 41 pts 16 reb vs. newly-crowned MVP Robinson In San Anton. Murray: "They should have never given that award out before the series started." His moves marvelled all and even drew the applause of the Spurs crowd during final road game of series. His performance in the series heralded as "legendary" by head coach Tomjanovich. Teammate said Hakeem: "He's holding my trophy". He "never talked trash" and Spurs "in trouble" and "in for a long night".

  • 7. Florida State rookie 24th pick Sam Cassell's Game 3 performance in Madison Square Garden during the 1994 Finals where he scored the team's last seven points including the '3' listed as # 8 on this list to put his team up 2-1 in the best-of-seven series with a 93-91 victory and take the home-court advantage away from the Knicks. In fact, his team wouldn't win another game until the Olajuwon defensive tip in Game 6 listed on this list as # 1.

For # 8, see next comment.

  • 6. Horry's '3' with 14.1 seconds to go in the 106-102 Game 3 win against Orlando in the 1995 Finals (listed as # 4 on this list).

    10. In a 102-100 loss on Stockton's game-winner (28 points, 10 assists) in Utah, Hakeem Olajuwon poured in 45 points on 20 of 30 shooting, called "one of the greatest individual performances in league history, win or loss" by one of my most-respected sports journalists.

For #s 7 and 8, see next comment.

  • 5. Team Effort: After a back-and-forth Game 1 loss 102-100 on John Stockton's game-winner at Utah in their first round 1995 series, they hit a team and league-playoff record 19 three's in game 2 scoring 140 points in the 140-123 Game 2 victory to even the series and take it back home to The Summit. Kenny Smith was 7 of 8 on 3s, had 32 points and a four-point play too I think. Clyde Drexler had 30 and was 5 of 6 from downtown, the team finishing 19 of 28.

For #s 6-8 and 10, see next comment.

  • 9. Clyde 'the Glide' Drexler's drive coast-to-coast during the key stretch of Game 3 in the 1995 Finals against Orlando, exclamated with a dunk and a foul too I believe (and I think it came off a steal). I also think he got called for a technical in the ensuing seconds because the ball came up and he just sent it back down. Imagine if that kind of officiating happened now - these NBA clowns would be whistled out in a quarter.

For my 5-8 and 10, see next comment.

  • Wonderful video memories but I beg to differ on the 10 selections. With that, I present my top 10 from those two title seasons:

    4. Olajuwon's fallaway that hit the corner of the backboard and went in heralding them as a team of destiny en route to their come-from-behind victory at Utah in the winner-take-all Game 5 of the 1995 opening round. They were losing 82-75 with about three minutes to go and I believe they took it 95-91.

    3. Same

    2. Same

    1. Same

    5-10, see next comment.

  • GO ROCKETS

  • What people didn´t realize was that Drexler could rebound with the big man.

  • On number 2, is that one of Oprah's themes playing in the background @ America West Arena?

  • ¡OLAJUWON!

  • Olajuwon's blocked shot on John stark's possible series winning shot in Game 6 of the NBA Finals is probably one of single most underrated plays in the history of the game!

  • Agreed, I've talked to a lot of Knick's fans about the moment they wish they could change and that was it.

  • Wasn't that OT with the tip not Olajuwon?

  • Na, it was Olajuwon.

  • Yeah, OT was traded that season for Clyde and Tracy Murray ,remember?

  • OT was traded the next season for Drexler. He played in the 94 championships. Look at the final highlight. Hakeem tips Starks shot, and as it's coming towards the rim, OT knocks it away.

  • I thought you meant the 'tip' as in the tip against Orlando. But, yeah I remember a lot of people didn't like that trade at first because we were last in rebounding in the league already, losing our best rebounder, Otis.

  • It was Olajuwon but I think he tipped it towards OT and Thorpe ended up with the rock.

  • These Rockets could have beaten the Bulls of any year. Look at the numbers. From 1991-1993, the Rockets beat the Bulls 5 out of 6. Jordan's fg percentage was sub 40 percent against the Rockets...

  • totally agree

  • I will never forget those two back to back seasons they had (94,95)!!

  • right there with you, I have never loved basketball more than those two years.

  • Agreed. It was oh so special!

  • This is what it is right here
