NASCAR has become a joke, nothing but rolling billboards and inflated ego, individual cleverness and builder enginuity is gone. The cars are all dead-set even, and it seems the only real factors in position are the pit crews. The manicured and blow-dried 'drivers' want to be 'rock-stars', not racers. Too corporate...too boring.
The Allison brothers would have punched the Busch brothers out for being crybabies. And Danica...go back to showing your tits. It's the best you are going to do.
@dalmax661 "The cars are all dead-set even, and it seems the only real factors in position are the pit crews." THAT'S THE POINT!!!!!! Unlike F1, NASCAR isn't about accelerating/braking/cornering speeds. It is about using your opponents' slipstreams to overtake while navigating a heavily congested racetrack. It is a form of motorsport that focuses on the physics principles not tested in F1. Did you even bother to watch this video (and part 2), or are you just stupid?
@marshknute Sorry, pal...but the days of "slipstreaming" are over. Unless they want to burn up an engine. And when did this turn into a discussion about F1? This is America, not socialist sport Europe. NASCAR was built on the principles of builer enginuity, horsepower and balls...not fancy-lads and old-money. Mix in a bit of grey-area rulebreaking, and you have a race.
@dalmax661 It is somewhat refreshing to see a form of motorsport where the driver's abilities are the only variable. I watched every F1 grand prix this past season, and found it frustrating to see Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari consistently take the top 6 spots, while dozens of great drivers struggled to qualify thanks to their vastly inferior cars. F1 fans were overjoyed to see Bruno Senna race, but he could only muster 2 points since his Renault didn't have the performance of the Red Bulls.
@marshknute One of the main reasons many F1/Indy drivers converted over to 60's-70's NASCAR was for the diversity of competition and equipment...not to mention, a more apprieciative fan base. Southern-style American racing, even as rolling billboards, remains the King of Motorsports. Any NASCAR Grand National/Sprint driver could drive any Grand-Prix...very few F-1 drivers could handle Darlington or Riverside...let alone Daytona or Talladega.
@dalmax661 I never defended F1. In fact, I only criticized it. I assumed by your comment that you were an "F1 rules, NASCAR sucks" kind of person. I rarely see negative comments on NASCAR videos that don't argue in favor of F1. I enjoy watching both motorsports. That said, I would like the NASCAR regulations changed so race cars are more heavily based on road cars. In other words, I don't like seeing RWD race cars "based" on FWD sedans.
@marshknute Sorry for getting off on the wrong footing. I totally agree, I never could understand the whole FWD Sedan thing, other than similar body stylings. To me, it doesn't translate well...call me 'old-school; I guess. Now it all about making the advertisers look good, the drivers seem to be marketing men in fire-resistant suits. I can understand the need for advertisers to offset the costs of fielding a car...but not as the only reason to field such car.
@marshknute "It is somewhat refreshing to see a form of motorsport where the driver's abilities are the only variable."
I doubt that's really the case in Nascar. I'm sure the better funded teams like Hendrick and Roush stand a much better chance at winning races than the less funded teams.
@rfsculero That's a fair comment, since certain teams will always have an advantage. That said, that advantage is much greater in F1. Both Cosworth teams and Lotus-Renault (now Caterham) finished the season with a total score of 0. Their cars were extremely inferior to those from Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari.
I'm not a Fifth Gear fan, but I will see some of their reviews and it's not bad. I prefer Top Gear, but Fifth Gear is very good for a car show, and I like Tiff.

I can show statistics which prove otherwise. An easy way to dispel such myths is the realization that the lowest IQ peoples tend to be the most violent. NASCAR however has venues which can house over 200K+ people. Yet you rarely read about severe crimes being committed at NASCAR races. On the other hand you read about beating occurring all the time at NFL, NBA and MLB games. Need I remind you of the riots that occur when teams of such leagues win the championship?
violence and IQ within stadiums are not correlated in the way that you think it is. The reason for the statistic you show is because NASCAR is more of a "family venue," with a large percent of the population being devout bible thumpers. IQ has very little to do with it...

@yoyoholck Boo hoo, i dont like a sport so it should be shut down. Idiot. Should look at some numbers to see the popularity of it. Like it or not, out of the 15 largest sport venues in the WORLD, 7 of them are american race tracks used for nascar. You dont have to like it, just dont be dumb and say something so popular should be shut down.
@g0ing2n0where I dont care im not american anyway, besides everything in your country is crap, tv, people, music, politicts, food. Im glad rally is the main motorsport in my country. Enjoy your nascar looks very exciting! Wonder what can happen next?
@yoyoholck Man your cranky. Just saying, you talk of excitement from a form of racing that has become more predictable than f1 during the shumacher era.
One thing I like about NASCAR is that the cars are tough. They can take quite a beating and still able to race. Sure there are crashes which leave the cars destroyed and in no shape to keep going, but what I'm saying is that it takes a lot to take a car out.
I was not watching a video on nascar, as much as I was watching a video on 5th gear the show. Thanks for being a dumbass though. Made my extra long day more pleasurable.
i just do not respect f1 because its focus is way to much on the politics and not about entertaining the fans. although i find rally very fun to watch
everwondered why they dont crash.........because theres absolutley no driver vs driver battles throught a race and its sad cause when they do have a side by side battle it only lasts for less then a lap anymore and they would crash in nascar its all chess match and concentration formula one is about bieng robotic and hitting your line since your not racing others alot
NASCAR drivers are only worshiped in the south. No one gives a shit about NASCAR in the north. I wish Formula 1 was televised in America. Formula 1 tracks take skill to drive arond. I would love to see Earnhart, Gordon, or any other NASCAR driver try to race in the Le Mans 24 hour race or the Nürburgring 24 hour race.
@Sueds90 they have ask carl, speed, gordan, tony, jimmie, yup they already have also kyle bush so dont hate cause alot of people love nascar and the action, its not illegal too like something different you know!
then why do europeans talk shit al the time about what america does. get off our case cause if it wasnt for us yall would have had a tough time in many wars and inventions
My only real problem with nascar is that I like engineering, I like knowing that something has been made as good as it can be, I don't like cheap things, and that is what nascar is. Attention to detail, is something that does not exist in the cars.
NASCAR doesnt have cheap parts, they make it to where the American dream can be accomplished, you don't have to be some polished karting champion to be a competitor in this sport, many of these drivers have made great sacrifices to get to where they are, no beef, just my 2 cents!
The only reason I'm getting annoyed with NASCAR is because of speed channel. They cut the 24 hours of Le Mans for some NASCAR qualifying. Speed used to be good, but now its just NASCAR and some stupid shows. If we could get Motors TV (Europe only) that would be sick, they show ONLY racing and racing news, NASCAR included.
You're an idiot if you think stock cars are made 'cheap.' The cars are just heavily regulated. Producing 900hp with the specifications these cars have is almost unthinkable. It's not the lack of engineering or lack of trying that keeps these cars from going as fast as an F1 machine, it's the regulations.
Is it a rule to have 5 wheel nuts on the wheels? Porshce is selling street cars with one centre wheel nut. (Yes, centre is spelt correctly)
An F1 engine makes similar power with less then half the size on premium pump gas vs.125 octane I believe it is in NASCAR? Sure a NASCAR could make more power, but what if you gave them 2.4L to work with, what would they produce?
Whether its the rules or not I don't care, NASCAR's are more low tech then my street car, done.
Just a different brand of racing. NASCAR puts the challenge more in the driver's hands. As for your "attention to detail" remark, you obviously have 0 idea how these cars work at speed. 1/2lb pressure changes constantly during a race, adding 3 inches of tape for downforce, JUST MAKING THESE CARS finish the race strong has so much detail involved its borderline crazy. F1 guys have the luxury of big gaps during a race, time to slow down and think. Rarely the case in NASCAR.
@SlyHobbit An example of what I mean by attention to detail.
An F1 engine is built to such high tolerances that they do not need a head gasket. Something your not going to see in a stock car
Compared to other types of race cars, there is just less engineering in NASCAR, and I personally don't like that, that's my opinion. I know there's lots of math in car setup and all that, there's effort I know, but the building of the car is crude in comparison to F1, Le Mans prototypes or even touring cars
@lukefresh58 No I have no idea, but I know that its not as trick as other race cars. Like I said in another comment, an F1 engine is built to such high tolerances that they don't have a head gasket.
Again like a said already, I know they are pretty detailed in NASCAR, but when you compare it to how an F1 car is built and set up for a race, the stock car looks like it was built by monkeys.
I'm not saying there's not a lot of trick shit in a stock car, but in comparison to F1 or LMP its low tech.
@SuperleggeraVW Then you feel that only the rich and well funded should race? To do what you suggest costs millions. There are many other racing leagues out there that are composed of regular people funding their own cars. Are these efforts less legitimate?
@OakRidgejet No I like amateur racing, but NASCAR is not amateur. There's probably just as much money involved, maybe more with NASCAR then in F1. NASCAR has more advertising then anything I can think of, where does all that money go?
When I go to Mosport for the ALMS, I like seeing the amateur races, checking out the cars, talk to the drivers. But when it comes to the pros, I prefer watching F1 or ALMS to NASCAR and its ridiculous amounts of advertisng that pay for $150,000 cars from the 70's.
@dafunkmonster Maybe I am, but I am very familiar with the all the money that doesn't go into development of new technologies. Racing (at the professional level) is where many new automotive technologies came from. Stock cars on the other hand could be made better using technologies that exist in street cars. I know the rules are in place and there's nothing teams can do, but these are the reasons I do not like NASCAR. It is my opinion and I give reasons why it is my opinion, that's all it is.
@SuperleggeraVW Nascar I highly doubt is low tech. F1 is based more on who has the better car. I came across one article that discussed how drivers have a very hard time even passing due to the wind stream coming off of oponents spoilers. It's nothing but engineering and not a competition so much of a drivers abilities.
@eclipse75 NASCAR is only low tech when comparing to other motor sports, manly F1. Obviously there is high tech stuff, but you can only rate something by comparing, and it is low tech when compared to F1. I like low tech, I like simple things, I'm not a fan of most new cars and prefer older stuff, but when it comes to billion dollar racing leagues, I prefer to see the limits of technology pushed. That's all.
@SuperleggeraVW Attention to detail is what wins a Nascar race. The rules don't allow the cars to be made entirely out of carbon(for the sake of keeping cost down and reducing the amount of debris that gets on the track in an accident) but that doesn't mean that the cars are thrown together. You should visit a race shop and see what goes into the cars before you make a comment like that.
@SuperleggeraVW My only real problem with canada is that I like real things, I like knowing that something is actually there, I don't like crappy little places, and thats what canada is. Attention to being awesome, is something that does not exist in canada :)
An incredible amount of engineering and attention to detail is put into every car. Every little part on the car is heavily regulated, from the fuel to the length of a screw. It's "cheap" but only because certain materials and equipment are allowed in order to keep cost down to keep every team competitive. They may use sheet metal instead of carbon fiber, but that piece of sheet metal has been tested in wind tunnels and high tech computer simulations to get it perfect. Plenty of engineering.
An F1 car will produces so much lateral g's that no one other then f1 drivers (due to their training) can be in an F1 going hard for more then a few laps without blowing the muscles in your neck.
@SuperleggeraVW really seriously what makes them different. they dont train their necks at all they come in the sport of F1 like anyother person and go fast
NASCAR also do Road Courses too so for all you idiots who think they are just oval racers think again. Most of them come from dirt track racing too and that takes just about as much skill as rally driving. Montoya has struggled over here and his road racing skills are the best. Show me a good oval racer..then you will have a good road racer..rarely the other way round. I appreciate F1 but it sux, who wants to see a car win by 50sec?? NASCAR rocks... best racing on the planet!
NASCAR is ace!I did a track day in Florida too when I was there and if you think its just turning left then think again, its hard.. you haveto battle with the wheel and play with the throttle all the time whilst in the same gear to get the best lap times. It feels like ure gonna get thrown over the wall. The G force is also amazin and the heat in the car is intense. 3 hrs in there takes some fitness to last out, I was knackered after 10 laps and i am mad on keep fit! awesome racing!!
nascar is 1 of the best sports there is, only problem is they dont have proper production cars racing anymore, like the old dodge chargers etc, its boring watching cars you cant own race, nascar was origionaly made for old moonshiners who used to get away from police to race in! how can u not love that!!
in reality this sport is only popular in the south. i can only watch nascar in high definition after smoking a joint. if not i will not enjoy it. maybe if i go watch in person and get the whole experience i'd like it more. as it stands nascar is only popular with the rednecks. but i wouldnt expect a foreigner to distinguish between a redneck and a regular american. but you'd never do that because then you couldn't stereotype and that's ALL your capable of doing.
heres a message to all you formula 1 douche bags. Lets see you rip around a 2.5 mile track around 200 mph then come make your gay fag comments on nascar videos
everwondered why they dont crash.........because theres absolutley no driver vs driver battles throught a race and its sad cause when they do have a side by side battle it only lasts for less then a lap anymore and they would crash in nascar its all chess match and concentration formula one is about bieng robotic and hitting your line since your not racing others alot
that's the south for you. and one of the reasons i hate going anywhere south of washington dc. they're very anti-semitic, racist, and for some reason they seem to want to secede again.
i agree, it takes way more skill to be an f1 racer. you have to cope with incredible downforce, and higher speeds, and quicker acceleration. not only that, but there is no roof over your head. it's awesome.
yea its the sublime.......for a few laps then it gets boring the same as most motosport competitions but in nascar your always gonna find driving battling drivers and tracks not just driver vs track only
well that's why touring car driving is the best, because you have to be able to cope with the track and vs the other drivers. in f1, it's basically just making sure you don't crash and making sure you keep your lead, and obviously there are no tricky corners to worry about in nascar (although they do race on the montreal f1 track i think).
touring car driving offers the best attributes of racing, but f1 is just so much more classy than both.
I completely agree. I would love to see NASCAR drivers compete in a Nürburgring, La Sarthe, Laguna Seca, Silverstone race. They would get destroyed. It takes a hell of a lot more skill to race the Nürburgring than it is to race the Indianapolis Speedway.
@coolerdude44 No tricky corners? I guess all the road-racing specialists who have tried to Nascar and insist it's the hardest thing they have ever done are wrong. Good thing there are people like you who never watch the races to set them straight. Oh, and Nascar also races at Infineon(Sears Point), Watkins Glen, and Road America.
CORRECTION to the commentator. they don't just aproach 200mph,the engines are restricted to 200 maximum for safety. back in the old days were the restrictor plate didn't exist they were reaching almost 220mph.
Agreed. I hate the way all these europeans say "nascar is gay, nascar is gay nascar is gay" FINE DONT FUCKING WATCH IT THEN!!!! WE LIKE IT SO WATCH YOUR OWN FUCKING SPORT!
@TGTAP well im american and I can tell you nascar is gay. Only rednecks like it. Look at the uproar there was when toyota go into nascar. Hell hath no fury like the scorn of a bunch of drunk rednecks.
@unrest101 So why watch Nascar videos? Is your life that empty and pathetic all you do with it is look up things you don't like and put hate comments on them? Because that's what it looks like to me and everyone else here
@TGTAP lol I highly doubt anyone who says nascar is gay actually watches it. I can't speak for Europeans but I can speak as an American that I hate it. Why? Because my T.V. is strictly populated with one motorsport, nascar, and it makes me sick to my stomach.
@TGTAP hmm.... by the way, argument?? more like a STATEMENT... do you know what the difference between the two are?? Ahhh so your parents weren't related?? AHHH I KNOW!!!!! maybe your just retarded and your not aware of it.... maybe...... : P
@chuchu2301 well it wasn't really a statement, considering you were pretty much looking for an arguement. I am fully aware I'm retarded. I got an A for my English A Levels, so that clearly proves that I have brain damage and clearly don't understand the english language.
nascar drivers cant drive. sure. f1 cars do that driving, power steering, computers, they just sit a foreign guy behind a wheel and say its racing, one lead change per race, most boaring form of anything in auto racing. nascars, cars, and drivers, and about the cirles, when you dont have to focus on racing the track, you can race your competitors.
vettedude, dont compare f1 with nascar man. Why would u need computers and powersteering?? your driving round. You dont even need steering!! Lol. Face it, you americans love action and carnage over precision and art. Just get in your corvette and "live a quarter mile at a time"
the difference is, something that you stereotypical europeans don't understand, we can enjoy precision and art while having action and not as much carnage as you would stereotype
Nascar is talentless - ovals...Zzzzzz. If you didn't notice there are some foreigners in nascar....not that is even an issue. F1 is a world sport you racist fuck and one F1 race attracts 600 Million viewers....Nascar doesn't rate at all outside the south & the trailers parks. F1 is the most watched form of motorsport in the world you ignorant burger munching fat retard.
@IommiSabbath1 talentless? talk about talentless.. f1's are driven by computers..and only computers..and if a computer fails, or a computer designed part fails, the team is out of the race, and championship..
stock cars take THE MOST talent out of all cars (besides maybe v8 supercars) to drive, because you have to coerce them into what you want the car to do, instead of flipping a switch and knowing through computers who is going to win the race..
@vettedude418 f1 cars are not driven by computers, no traction control. No stability control. stock cars take the most talent to race? Don't make me laugh its nothing more than a v8 car going around in an oval. Not that challenging at all. Then you said besides v8 supercars? You clearly have no clue what your talking about given v8 supercars especially modern ones are LOADED with electronic stability control and traction control to make an average drive feel like a driving god.
@unrest101 cant knock em till you try them...my oval legend car probably takes more skill to drive fast than a standard go-kart..road racings fun, but stock cars are extremely challenging to drive
@unrest101 You have to remember, they are stock cars: limited downforce, higher weight, 4 speed clutch. They may seem like pieces of shit compared to a F1 car, but that only makes them harder to drive.
@vettedude418 given the fact that you have dude in your name and just said you weight around 120 leads me to believe you are 14 and never even sat in a car. you've never eaten a burger? what are you some vegan prick? How valid is your opinion in reality. Given the fact that you're too young to even know where the clutch pedal is located.
lol - Not all Americans like Nascar & there are other racing series in the country that don't just do ovals. Cricket sucks as does Baseball (but Baseball is the harder sport), Ice Hockey requires alot more skil than field hockey and American Football is so completely different from Rugby its not worth comparing (its chess on the field - npt supposed to be a flowing game. Take your xenophobic ignorance elsewhere kiddo.
Bullshit... Juan Pablo Montoya only joined NASCAR because he was fired from F1. He sucked, so he had to drive a circuit where they only drive in a circle. A retarded monkey could win NASCAR! F1 is a challenge! There, you actually drive in corners! And in high speed! In a dragrace, an F1-car could smoke a stockcar. It's just more of a challenge to drive in F1. Montoya sucks at REAL racing!
Chromatopel - Hey dipshit - Montoya won races in F1..infact he has won in every category in has tried. F1 teams last year tried to get him back into F1. He has turned down offers to race in Indy this year as well. I hate Nascar, but its his choice to race in that series. Why not leave motor racing to real fans and go back to building castles in your sandpit.
Ralf sucked but Montoya has never sucked - he is a colourful character who even Bernie Ecclestone wished was still in F1. The current pack of F1 drivers are as exciting as a stationary brick.
montoya coulndt keep his head together. he didnt leave Mclaren, he was fired in the midle of season! and last 2 seasons have been anything but boring. but you wouldnt know that as you dont watch F1...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Yeah, I figure another couple of hours of watching cars drive in a circle and my IQ should be somewhere around zero; the same as all the other trailer-dwelling, tank-top wearing, lifted pick up-driving, rebel flag-flying, beer-swilling, wife-beating, redneck nascar fans.

NASCAR drivers are only worshiped in the south. No one gives a shit about NASCAR in the north. I wish Formula 1 was televised in America. Formula 1 tracks take skill to drive arond. kingoftg 2 years ago
My only real problem with nascar is that I like engineering, I like knowing that something has been made as good as it can be, I don't like cheap things, and that is what nascar is. Attention to detail, is something that does not exist in the cars.
SuperleggeraVW 2 years ago
NASCAR doesnt have cheap parts, they make it to where the American dream can be accomplished, you don't have to be some polished karting champion to be a competitor in this sport, many of these drivers have made great sacrifices to get to where they are, no beef, just my 2 cents!
bluegrassboy2448 2 years ago
The only reason I'm getting annoyed with NASCAR is because of speed channel. They cut the 24 hours of Le Mans for some NASCAR qualifying. Speed used to be good, but now its just NASCAR and some stupid shows. If we could get Motors TV (Europe only) that would be sick, they show ONLY racing and racing news, NASCAR included.
SuperleggeraVW 2 years ago
You're an idiot if you think stock cars are made 'cheap.' The cars are just heavily regulated. Producing 900hp with the specifications these cars have is almost unthinkable. It's not the lack of engineering or lack of trying that keeps these cars from going as fast as an F1 machine, it's the regulations.
sleepfortheteam 2 years ago
Is it a rule to have 5 wheel nuts on the wheels? Porshce is selling street cars with one centre wheel nut. (Yes, centre is spelt correctly)
An F1 engine makes similar power with less then half the size on premium pump gas vs.125 octane I believe it is in NASCAR? Sure a NASCAR could make more power, but what if you gave them 2.4L to work with, what would they produce?
Whether its the rules or not I don't care, NASCAR's are more low tech then my street car, done.
SuperleggeraVW 2 years ago
@SuperleggeraVW Thats the point, its supposed to be low tech! They dont even have speedometers in the cars! Its tradition.
nascfranz 2 years ago
@SuperleggeraVW actually, yup they do, they get really bill nye with the cars
speedzonefilms 1 year ago
@SuperleggeraVW It's all about the engines in nascar, who the hell cares about the looks on a racecar?
snake5891 1 year ago
@SuperleggeraVW
SlyHobbit 1 year ago
@SlyHobbit An example of what I mean by attention to detail.
An F1 engine is built to such high tolerances that they do not need a head gasket. Something your not going to see in a stock car
Compared to other types of race cars, there is just less engineering in NASCAR, and I personally don't like that, that's my opinion. I know there's lots of math in car setup and all that, there's effort I know, but the building of the car is crude in comparison to F1, Le Mans prototypes or even touring cars
SuperleggeraVW 1 year ago
@SlyHobbit They have time to slow down and think? While racing? Hahahahah!
i5Alex 1 year ago
@SuperleggeraVW you have no idea the kinda trick shit going on in a cup car then.
lukefresh58 1 year ago
@lukefresh58 No I have no idea, but I know that its not as trick as other race cars. Like I said in another comment, an F1 engine is built to such high tolerances that they don't have a head gasket.
Again like a said already, I know they are pretty detailed in NASCAR, but when you compare it to how an F1 car is built and set up for a race, the stock car looks like it was built by monkeys.
I'm not saying there's not a lot of trick shit in a stock car, but in comparison to F1 or LMP its low tech.
SuperleggeraVW 1 year ago
@SuperleggeraVW Then you feel that only the rich and well funded should race? To do what you suggest costs millions. There are many other racing leagues out there that are composed of regular people funding their own cars. Are these efforts less legitimate?
OakRidgejet 1 year ago
@OakRidgejet No I like amateur racing, but NASCAR is not amateur. There's probably just as much money involved, maybe more with NASCAR then in F1. NASCAR has more advertising then anything I can think of, where does all that money go?
When I go to Mosport for the ALMS, I like seeing the amateur races, checking out the cars, talk to the drivers. But when it comes to the pros, I prefer watching F1 or ALMS to NASCAR and its ridiculous amounts of advertisng that pay for $150,000 cars from the 70's.
SuperleggeraVW 1 year ago
@SuperleggeraVW Then you're quite obviously unfamiliar with the millions that go into building the cars...
dafunkmonster 1 year ago

It's nothing but engineering and not a competition so much of a drivers abilities.
eclipse75 1 year ago
@eclipse75 NASCAR is only low tech when comparing to other motor sports, manly F1. Obviously there is high tech stuff, but you can only rate something by comparing, and it is low tech when compared to F1. I like low tech, I like simple things, I'm not a fan of most new cars and prefer older stuff, but when it comes to billion dollar racing leagues, I prefer to see the limits of technology pushed. That's all.
SuperleggeraVW 1 year ago
@eclipse75 They just now put in fuel injection!
BackRowRacing98 4 weeks ago
@SuperleggeraVW Attention to detail is what wins a Nascar race. The rules don't allow the cars to be made entirely out of carbon(for the sake of keeping cost down and reducing the amount of debris that gets on the track in an accident) but that doesn't mean that the cars are thrown together. You should visit a race shop and see what goes into the cars before you make a comment like that.
mikear4318 11 months ago
@SuperleggeraVW My only real problem with canada is that I like real things, I like knowing that something is actually there, I don't like crappy little places, and thats what canada is. Attention to being awesome, is something that does not exist in canada :)
IntegrateUs 11 months ago
An incredible amount of engineering and attention to detail is put into every car. Every little part on the car is heavily regulated, from the fuel to the length of a screw. It's "cheap" but only because certain materials and equipment are allowed in order to keep cost down to keep every team competitive. They may use sheet metal instead of carbon fiber, but that piece of sheet metal has been tested in wind tunnels and high tech computer simulations to get it perfect. Plenty of engineering.

Ialocin85 2 years ago

TGTAP 2 years ago
i agree, it takes way more skill to be an f1 racer. you have to cope with incredible downforce, and higher speeds, and quicker acceleration. not only that, but there is no roof over your head. it's awesome.
coolerdude44 2 years ago
yea its the sublime.......for a few laps then it gets boring the same as most motosport competitions but in nascar your always gonna find driving battling drivers and tracks not just driver vs track only
YUBU8 2 years ago
well that's why touring car driving is the best, because you have to be able to cope with the track and vs the other drivers. in f1, it's basically just making sure you don't crash and making sure you keep your lead, and obviously there are no tricky corners to worry about in nascar (although they do race on the montreal f1 track i think).
touring car driving offers the best attributes of racing, but f1 is just so much more classy than both.
coolerdude44 2 years ago 2
I completely agree. I would love to see NASCAR drivers compete in a Nürburgring, La Sarthe, Laguna Seca, Silverstone race. They would get destroyed. It takes a hell of a lot more skill to race the Nürburgring than it is to race the Indianapolis Speedway.
Sueds90 2 years ago
@coolerdude44 No tricky corners? I guess all the road-racing specialists who have tried to Nascar and insist it's the hardest thing they have ever done are wrong. Good thing there are people like you who never watch the races to set them straight. Oh, and Nascar also races at Infineon(Sears Point), Watkins Glen, and Road America.

captainalbator 3 years ago
nascar drivers cant drive. sure. f1 cars do that driving, power steering, computers, they just sit a foreign guy behind a wheel and say its racing, one lead change per race, most boaring form of anything in auto racing. nascars, cars, and drivers, and about the cirles, when you dont have to focus on racing the track, you can race your competitors.

TGTAP 2 years ago 3
@IommiSabbath1 talentless? talk about talentless.. f1's are driven by computers..and only computers..and if a computer fails, or a computer designed part fails, the team is out of the race, and championship..
stock cars take THE MOST talent out of all cars (besides maybe v8 supercars) to drive, because you have to coerce them into what you want the car to do, instead of flipping a switch and knowing through computers who is going to win the race..
vettedude418 1 year ago
@vettedude418 f1 cars are not driven by computers, no traction control. No stability control. stock cars take the most talent to race? Don't make me laugh its nothing more than a v8 car going around in an oval. Not that challenging at all. Then you said besides v8 supercars? You clearly have no clue what your talking about given v8 supercars especially modern ones are LOADED with electronic stability control and traction control to make an average drive feel like a driving god.
unrest101 1 year ago
@unrest101 cant knock em till you try them...my oval legend car probably takes more skill to drive fast than a standard go-kart..road racings fun, but stock cars are extremely challenging to drive
vettedude418 1 year ago
@unrest101 You have to remember, they are stock cars: limited downforce, higher weight, 4 speed clutch. They may seem like pieces of shit compared to a F1 car, but that only makes them harder to drive.
