I suddenly want to own a harpsichord. Not that I'd ever be able to play stride bass...but just to be able to say to my friends, "This is one of the coolest instruments ever and it was invented many centuries ago and I own one." :)
Just goes to show the ol' harpsichord is a capable instrument even with more jazzy tunes like the Charleston and the classic ragtime tune, the Entertainer. The purists might be seething, but I think it's amazing, and the sound is really crisp and clear.
It's certainly brought a smile to my face, and you have a sincere thank you for sharing this with everyone!
Amazing interpretation of a wonderful piece! I've been playing harpsichord for 15 years but am truly impressed by the way you make it sound like it was composed for harpsichord. Thanks!
As for the Generic Music, I didn't know it, but it's "ébouriffant, simplement décoiffant !"
I don't know wether the original left hand first bars were really these, but it's so amazing because they are the very same as in "My Lady Carey's Dompe" which was written five centuries ago, and by the seventh minute, it's developing into quite an orgasm !
Ouaaaaaa ! les effets de glissendo, puis le ralentendo à la fin : I'm simply weeping with bonheur ! Thank you so much ! ¦-)
I saw and listened Don Angle more than 25 years ago, within the William Dowd/Von Nagel Paris' workshop, playing a lot of "rag time" pieces on the last French double produced by this workshop. It was a real pleasure, and he dedicated to me two from its vinyl recordings I have still there. Nice time of a good "concert dans les copeaux" !
I freaking love this. Awesome technique coupled with a fresh and witty interpretation of 'The Entertainer'.

So out of style it's hilarious! You don't get any whiter than this folks! Still, his improv. is refreshing and very original.

Amazing! The harpsichord requires more precision than the piano, and it is just amazing how clean sounding you play!

I just loved the ornamental effects and other added stuff that made it sound so good on an instrument it was not intended for.
