  • I freaking love this. Awesome technique coupled with a fresh and witty interpretation of 'The Entertainer'.

  • super !!!

  • Amazing! Thank you for uploading!

  • you are a genius...

  • I suddenly want to own a harpsichord. Not that I'd ever be able to play stride bass...but just to be able to say to my friends, "This is one of the coolest instruments ever and it was invented many centuries ago and I own one." :)

  • Just goes to show the ol' harpsichord is a capable instrument even with more jazzy tunes like the Charleston and the classic ragtime tune, the Entertainer. The purists might be seething, but I think it's amazing, and the sound is really crisp and clear.

It's certainly brought a smile to my face, and you have a sincere thank you for sharing this with everyone!

  • Congratulation! An original and witty performance of this tired piece (entertainer).

  • Holy snaps, this guy is a true pimp on some harpsichordery. Biggitups!

  • Pretty bomb ass interpretatio :)

  • are you from Godalming?

  • By the way I can see this, Bach had some spare time on the harpsichord. :)

  • LOL! I would love to have seen somebody whip this out in the 1400's, and watch everyone be like, WTF? !!! lol

  • @allisonforfornsed You would have been burned at the stake for witchcraft.

  • 8 seconds into the song, and I've already 'favourited' it :D

  • So out of style it's hilarious! You don't get any whiter than this folks! Still, his improv. is refreshing and very original.

  • Maravilleux musique!!!!!

  • jjajajjajajajajaj hilarious, excellent!

  • grab your lampshade ! big dance at the insane asylum !

  • This is great! Thanks.

  • Amazing interpretation of a wonderful piece! I've been playing harpsichord for 15 years but am truly impressed by the way you make it sound like it was composed for harpsichord. Thanks!

  • I just eargasmed

  • Sounds really natural... not unusual at all... lt kinda reminds me the sound of Banjo

  • Insane interpretation.

  • Wow this is fantastic i love this tune it reminds me of the old super mario games. The tunes from it

  • Lol this is amazing

  • Wow! Not even Elsbieta Choinaka plays the double thrillers! -)

  • Amazing! The harpsichord requires more precision than the piano, and it is just amazing how clean sounding you play!

  • DUDE YOU ROCK SO HARD!!!!!!!! :D

  • I just loved the ornamental effects and other added stuff that made it sound so good on an instrument it was not intended for.

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, aka the old chap.

  • FANTASTIC FANCY VERSION ! BRAVO !

  • 8-bit entertainer

  • I wounder what Bach would have tought about this? I guess he would have loved it!!!!!!!

  • @haakonsb i bet he would laugh his ass off...in a good way

  • Respond to this video... i mean he would've cause the guy is dead...forgot about that one ;)

  • 4:09 part... it reminds me of those old cartoons.... lol

  • lol.....what a fantastic idea, ragtime on harpsichord....amazing!!!!!

  • This is phantasmagorical.

  • As for the Generic Music, I didn't know it, but it's "ébouriffant, simplement décoiffant !"

I don't know wether the original left hand first bars were really these, but it's so amazing because they are the very same as in "My Lady Carey's Dompe" which was written five centuries ago, and by the seventh minute, it's developing into quite an orgasm !

Ouaaaaaa ! les effets de glissendo, puis le ralentendo à la fin : I'm simply weeping with bonheur ! Thank you so much ! ¦-)

  • Waaaaaou ! C'est GéniAAAAAAAL !

Les fioritures dans The Entertainer font un peu ... décalé ;-! , mais le reste est du pur bonheur :-)))

  • wonderful

  • Somebody missed the"like" button. :)

  • That was so good!! Nice to hear it on harpischord too!!

  • ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL CHRIS! I LOVE THIS HAHAHA THANKS FOR POSTING IT! DIRECTLY TO MY FAVORITES AND HUNDRED STARS,

    KISS KISS, HUG HUG. XD

  • @anonimoalfin glad you like it dear!! xx

  • I saw and listened Don Angle more than 25 years ago, within the William Dowd/Von Nagel Paris' workshop, playing a lot of "rag time" pieces on the last French double produced by this workshop. It was a real pleasure, and he dedicated to me two from its vinyl recordings I have still there. Nice time of a good "concert dans les copeaux" !

    Sorry he's passed now !

  • awesome, thanks for the video response!

  • Very enjoyable, and well played!

  • it´s very FUNNY!!!!!....

  • hmmm... most cool. Where might the sheet music be obtained? :)

  • imslp.org probably has free scores of a lot of Joplns music (and a bunch of other composers as well).
