I think he is a pretty good guitarist, but what he plays in this video sounds like shit. The tone is crap.

Tone is a problem with a lot of the younger players. Veterans like Schenker, Uli Roth, Yngwie, Rhoads, Van Halen, Gary Moore, Jake E Lee, Friedman, Chris Poland, Lynch, Viv Campbell, Satriani, Eric Johnson, Doug Aldrich, LeTekro, Takasaki, Sykes etc. not only had/have great tone they also had a unique tone that makes them stand out. That has become rare - everyone/thing tends to sounds same-ish and too many players are seemingly content with thin, processed and ultimately shitty tone.
