  • how old is the goby?

  • even whit him that size he still has a very tiny throught bou tthe size of his eye. witch means he can not eat goldfish. fisically imposible for them to eat fish. they may snak on small sik/dying/dead fish but they only tak very tiny nibbles out of the fish they wont even eat molly fry. mine is 10 inches long with mollies kuhli louches and plenty of molly fry.

  • Has he always eaten blood worms

  • That phuken wicked!

  • i have one but its not that big yet!

  • Falkore is nice

  • what size tank is that

  • think its about a 55-60 gallon>

  • @mouseabbie

Falkore is over 3 years old... :)

    and still growing..

upgrading the tank is a big factor in the growth...

I am planning on upgrading to a 100 gallon. I still have the Falkore, Venus, Al and Bino (the white affrican frogs) and Rashad (the Pleco) they are huge :)

  • OMG I didn't think they could get that big... his is huge! mine is only a 4-5in his name is RAMPAGE. I love these kind of gobies, although one thing that sux is that the online information about their care is really not very accurate. I keep mine in a with a betta and 3 feeder fish and a couple neons! How long did it take you to get him that size????Anyways cool video:)

  • well my Violet Goby is getting like 11 inches maby 10 i had two albino frogs one died he suffcated under the house the pet shop told me they where dum but my other one is doing fine what is a good thing to feed both of them they been eatting flakes but i want more verity was your frog yellow like that when e was younger mine is ghost white

  • He's huge!!! How long did it take him to get that big? how old is he? Mine is only a couple months old, and is about 7 / inches long, he's gettin fat lol. he loves to eat, he wouldnt eat any of the feeder fish we got him, so they have become part of our family. We also have 2 Tiger Tails (baby dino's) their awesome. we have a very interesting family lol

  • LOL...yeah...the frogs are pretty dumb :) ha ha, but yeah AL (the yellow one) has always had that tint to him, and BINO has always been the smaller white one. that's how I have been ale to tell them apart, but also AL is such a fat butt, he struggles to eat more than he should :). I feed all of them a variety of bloodworms, brine shrimp, beef heart, ocean plankton, krill,mega-marine angel, and squid :)

  • Lol the albino toad ( if i'm correct) is like OM NOM NOM

  • damn how big is the gobie

  • WHOA! Mine's only 6 inches

  • have your dragons ever shedded? mines is shedding

  • I have never seen Falkore shed before, but it looks like he has stretch marks, ha ha

  • I have my gobi in freshwater too that has regular acqurium salt in it, a heaping tablespoon per 5 gallons. I hope and pray that my gobi will do good because I didn't know he needed brackish water until I got him home and read up on him. I have to put bloodworms in the place where he hides so the other fish won't pig all the food. I hope he starts standing up for himself! It looks like he don't have eyes! Do you have any more info that would be good?

  • That is so neat. I love you froggies. What kind are they. I just got a Gobi yesterday and he is already 8 inches. I did find out that they need "brackish" water? What kind of water is your's in. I have a couple huge pocasumus bottom feeders like you do too. They are big so I got an 8 inch Gobi to make sure that he would not get picked on. They are do well. I have three parrot fish, a silver dollar, a chilid and a Raphael catfish and he is big too.

  • Thanks... yepper, those are African Albino Frogs. It's easy because they eat the brine shrimp and bloodworms like the Goby's. No they have regular water, not brackish. I did hear that they were brackish water fish, but he is doing great with this water. All of them have gotten a bit bigger sinc, especially one of the frogs that I named "AL".... I think he eats too much :)

  • oh what a big boy.....i've always loved how violet goby's look and have wanted one for a long time. my mom thought i was nuts because i thought they were so cute, though they like like little bulldog fishes.....lol

  • thats intense dude nice tank

  • wow thats the best DG ive seen! cant wait to i get mine

  • isnt the name falkore from the movie the neverending story.

  • Yeah... sorry it took me so long to comment> but yeah... I though he kinda looked like the flying dog dragon from neverending story :)

  • He is in freshwater. I believe they are brackish water, but he is doing fine in this water.

  • just bought a violet guby bout 5in-8in long and it has trouble finding food so im forced to feed him his blood worms by hand or with a turkey baster

  • That's funny! What's cool is when I bought Falkore he never had any trouble finding the food, and he always took the other fishes food. I think that is why he's fat ha ha....

  • monster goby in a babycrib... I would like to give my Dragonfish more room at that size... Its a shame that monster cant get around and flex its innate agility

  • Yeah.. he's gone through 4 tanks already!!! I get him a new one when I notice he is getting the length of it, but this tank is good since it's long. It gives him swimming space

  • Wow. Just how long is Falkore? How long have you had him? What do you feed him?

I'd be careful with Venus. Mature violet gobies can be very territorial and a larger one killing the smaller one isn't unheard of.

You should probably move them both to a brackish tank, too. Violet gobies don't live as long in freshwater.

  • Falkore is about 14" long, and I have had him for a little over 3 years. I usually feed them brine shrimp, bloodworms, and beef heart. I am going to get a divider to seperate venus because he does get violent at times , although he is pretty good with the other fish.

  • Yeah, a lot of gobies are aggressive towards each other but not other fish.

Eventually, it's possible for both of them to get over 24" long. Make sure you have space for them.

  • I'm gonna have to upgrade the tank in about 5 months or so, but for right now they are doing pretty good. Yeah he does get pretty mean with her but she will hide from him when she feels threatened.

  • See, what you gotta do is this. Get a large sheet of aluminum foil, a lemon, an onion, and a little bit of lemon pepper. Place Falkore on the center of the foil and place the onion slices on top. Then you gotta squeeze the lemon and sprinkle a lemon pepper on top. Wrap the foil so no juices excape. Any bar b que pit will do. Enjoy! :)
