KINKAJOU - RAINFOREST ANIMALS

Whilst Kinkajous are not endangered I met groups of poachers deep in the jungle that were stealing orchids and animals to sell to US breeders. If videos like this encourage market demand for Kinkajous as pets, then they will become endangered as more will be taken from the wild.  This is what has just caused the slow loris to become endangered when only a few years ago it was not. See BBC news website for proof. Leave the wild to be wild.

On the contrary, These animals may never go extinct because of their value in the pet trade. Many people in the US are now breeding them to sell as pets and (having one myself that was born locally) they actually do make great pets if cared for properly.

I lived and worked in Belize for a British Conservation Charity. I spent months in the Jungle where I saw kinkajous every night. I also lived in Franks Eddy near Jaguar Paws, where this was filmed, for several months and seriously question their Eco credentials. I advise tourists not to visit it's animals but go to Belize Zoo, which has genuine conservation status. Near Jaguar Paws are beautiful caves, but these do not belong to the hotel as another video on YouTube claims.

i disagree with the video kinkajous can adapt to pet life and change their sleeping cycle if the owner is caring and dedicated i think they can make great pets and are a very loving animal

These types of animals should never be kept as pets. They should live in rainforest, not in a human's home.
