Well, in Innocent Sin it is hinted that she has feelings for him. But in the ending, she is talking to all her companions as she dies because of a fucking injury made by the Longinus lance, which can't be healed.

After that it is proposed to them to forget everything so that Maya may live again, like a "reset" in the world.

Still, Tatsuya refuses to forget about their lives and becomes the "Paradox Boy", starting out the Eternal Punishment game.

One of the best tracks ever made for a game. Also, fuck Aeris, Maya's death was the most tragic ever, since she was no random chick that joined the party and every other character loved her. And the whole world blows up right after she dies (LoL)

This was THE MOST EPIC death of a character in any game till today. Specially because she laughs about it, while all the others are crying for her. Maya Amano was everything but lame. Definitely, one of the best characters ever.

This game is also probably the longest persona game in the series, considering it is split into two different parts and each part is a pretty engrossing game in itself.

this game has one of the best stories i've ever played in an rpg, and combining it with IS makes it even better. so much depth. i doubt atlus will ever top it but then again, I don't expect them too.

That's not Tatsuya. It's just an avatar that Nyarlathotep takes the form of as a way of insulting Maya.

(Nyarly tells her during P2 EP that she can never have Tatusuya. The game actually ends once Maya comes to this realization.)

The entirety of the P2 games is just Nyalathotep dividing the world through manipulation.

Not unlike the real Nyarlathotep from Lovecraftian lore..
