  • Lol I never realized Holmes was in this movie xD

  • Basil reminds me of David Tennant (as the doctor) :L Apart from David Tennant is more good looking :)

  • 7:36 She must have givven him her best puppymouse face.

  • Watching this in 2012 and Rattigan is STILL one of the best villains of all time!

  • Oh my god, Basil breaking his violin puts me in fits of laughter every time!!

  • Comment question. Who do you think is hotter? Basil or Ratigan?

  • @HighScarlettFever basil :D

  • @HighScarlettFever basil :D

  • when i was little alot of the words basil used i didnt understand, but now that im a teenager i understand all of it :D

  • Watching this so soon after seeing the newest Sherlock movie makes me notice how striking the personality of Holmes is. It is transferred to every incarnation.

  • I love this movie, I hope I find a DVD or whatever to keep.

  • XD the lizards from Alice in wonderland

  • dear lord! by the size of that cat i bet Ratigan got upset daily.

  • @BitchxSplapped I would think hourly

  • i don´t get it, why doesn´t Ratigan and his mob/gang go kill Basil OF BAKER STREET, i mean they could easily go to BAKER STREET and kill Basil OF BAKER STREET!!!!

  • Haha Sherlock Holmes! I never noticed that he was in this movie!

  • NOO WHY ARE THEY SINGING!?

  • 7:36 (in between fade out)

Olivia: I really want to come with you.

Basil: No, *starts singing song from "Quest for Camelot"*

    Olivia: Please?

    Basil: Oh, all right.

    Olivia: :D

  • @IndianaJonesfans09 No.....

  • Basil and Olivia

  • @BasilTheDetective Sorry, I never read those. :(

  • @alltimesickestkids Well, there may not be any Irene, but that dancing white mouse could be her replacement.

  • @PianoDisneygal10 Well, there was Relda from the Basil of Baker Street Books. - Basil

  • 7:38 Cinderella reference? =/

  • Who else thinks it's kind of ironic that the guy who voices the drunk mouse who gets eaten by the cat is also the voice of Basil?

  • Look a lizard at 1:17.

  • Poor rat, no root beer.

  • 09:54 he's a big leg bat with a broken wing GRWWWWW rofl

  • thanx 4 the upload....i almost 4got about this movie...which always gets me thinkin....wudnt it b cool if mice had their own little world inside ours??...thumbs up if u agree!!....;)

  • That little mice girl is adorable!

  • poor mouse ran out of Beer

  • @Mstheblondenextdoor A sad day indeed :(

  • Shame about that violin. That was an authentic Mousekewitz. You can't get those in the UK anymore since he and his family emigrated to America.

  • HOW DID THE BAT KNOW THE GIRL WAS AT THE DETECTIVE'S HOUSE??

  • Now that I've read Sherlock Holmes, I know what's up at 7:50

  • I used to have a pet rat named Ratigan. It was so smart, it would get out of it's own cage and follow us around!

  • Btw, I love so much that Bill from Alice in Wonderland makes a cameo.

  • I love how Watson and Holmes are there throughout. Oh Disney.

  • I love how Basil keeps saying her name wrong.

  • Basil is hot for a mouse, yes, sure, but I really prefer Robert Downey Jr. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @QueenPenelope100

    Hmmmm. Benedict Cumberbatch?

  • @VickiSnickers 12:35 "You astound me" is the only thing John didn't say to Sherlock lollll

  • I wonder why there was not an Irene Adler character

  • What did Fidget remove from those toys at15:12? Tools or gears?

  • 02:45 ratigan needs to jump of a clock cuz it wasn't the lil guys fault, he was really drunk o-o

and i don't get y ratigan is in denial about being a rat.

  • @CoffeeBitLPs hi craig :D i mean coffee obsesser XD

  • @ShugoShugopower2 xDD hi

  • you know, this makes me think at Sherlock Holmes.

  • @mcmptn It's called animation, bub.

  • I was so sad when the drunk mouse was fed to Felicia :( he was cute

  • I love how the mouse version of sherlock is just as smug and likably conceited as the Downey Jr. version.

  • lol 13:52 sounds like he says "oh F*ck that" but he says "oh stop that"

  • -Dodger taught me that you shouldn’t let everyday worries weigh you down

-Basil of Baker Street taught me that NO one is more clever than YOU

-Bernard and Bianca taught me that no matter your size, personality or whatever, let NOTHING stop you from making a difference

-Marahute taught me to let my imagination and spirit soar

    -And so much more…

And what has the new Disney taught us? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! Click “Like” if you agree. LONG LIVE OLD SCHOOL DISNEY!!!!

  • @TheSlytherinBaron XD And Miss Kitty taught us how to dance, lets not forget LOL!

  • @TheSlytherinBaron Disney taught us girls that when in doubt wait for Mr. Sexy Tough Guy to rescue us. That is why my children won't be watching Disney princess movies.

  • @Mstheblondenextdoor I concur with you on that, but thankfully, there are plenty of animated films that don't feature that trope. You shouldn't have any trouble finding some good pieces for your kids.

  • @TheSlytherinBaron not true anymore... revival era

  • @TheSlytherinBaron That's not true. New disney preaches that no matter what, be yourself. Unless your true self is not what everyone else thinks is cool, in which case you will be punished by society.

Sometimes I flip on the disney channel every now and again and literally every show they have portrays this message to children, no joke.

  • anyone else find "ratigan" a bit androgynous?

  • That bat used to scare the hell out of me.

  • Yay, Sherlock and John cameo and a "Redheaded League" reference to boot. I love this movie so much.

  • 2:48 dude you gotta let drunken ramblings slide

  • i can place all the characters for who they're supposed to be in the novels/movies but if the bat supposed to be a really stupid and bumbling version of Sebastian Moran?

  • Comment removed

  • @richardworthtucker because mr.flaversham needed tools and all that things to do the false queen, and the uniforms were for the Ratigan´s helpers so they could look like real guardians, and the girl was to threat Mr. Flaversham so he do the robot

  • Basil is like Sherlock Holmes. He notices the SMALLEST of details, he enters the stage (or in this case, his house) in a costume, and he is obsessed with his work.

I just looked it up on IMDb, Basil IS the mouse version of Holmes.

  • @adkangels19

The fact that he lives at Baker Street doesn't make that obvious, hes also quite eccentric

  • @adkangels19 Hell, he lives in the same house as his human counterpart XD

  • Not even an "excuse me" at 6:19 lol Looks like an all-pro running back.

  • actually watching all these old disney movies is making want to purchase them and complete a collection like the 1 i had when i was a kid

  • glad our constitution in canada is better

  • Comment removed

  • the transition at 4:56 is perfect... you completely forget that the storyline is still following basil's crew

  • Is it me or is that the lizard from Alice in wonderland xD nice

  • Is Fidget meant to be Sebastian Moran?

  • At 13.56 does Basil say 'oh fuck that'?

  • is the girl who voiced Olivia the same girl who voiced Anne Marie in All Dogs go to Heaven? sounds like it

  • Comment removed

  • why do they pronounce it BAH-sil, instead BAAA-sil?

  • @11poseidon11athena11 Perhaps because it's an american studio ?

  • @titeintello nah I'm American and i don't pronounce like that

  • @11poseidon11athena11 It's the way british people prononce it

  • @11poseidon11athena11 BAAA-sil is the herb. BAH-sil is the name

  • @whowiseedet

    Bay-zil is the US pronunciation

    Bah-zil is the British pronunciation

  • i so love this movie

  • Now to remind you Dawson, you better not upset Toby, or he will not like you at all

  • Basil, would you go easy on that child? I'm mean come on, man

  • I don't see where Fidget's wing is broken . . .

  • Why can't Fidget fly, and what does Basil mean by Fidget's broken wing?

  • @bellamovie2 Well, we don't know why and how, but he has a broken wing (sorry, i'm french and my english isn't pretty good ^^")

  • @titeintello it's fine

  • @IndianaJonesfans09 me either xD

  • Hmmm, I dunno why but I always found the scene with Basil getting dressed/ready to leave kind of odd. XD The only thought that would always run through my mind is 'He would get really hot, wouldn't he...?' because think about the layers, lol! P: He's fur, an under shirt, a vest, a jacket, and then he's over coat... But I was a kid, maybe it was just me. Ahaha.

  • Haha for some reason I keep thinking in my mind that it almost like Ratigun is saying "I am NOT fat!"

  • Basil is such a dick. xD I'm glad they didn't soften Sherlock Holmes' character too much, even in mouse form~

  • the wine/champanigany looks like pink lemonade in rat boys lair

  • This film is one of the reasons why im edgy about dolls XD what do you think bout dolls basil?

  • what a fantastic movie! i love the way victorian london is illustrated with its rainy, foggy streets, and the characters in this story are so strong: sweet olivia, ingenious basil, the large-hearted doctor, along with the workers of evil! i also adore the way tiny mouse houses appear along curb sides and the way the baddies travel thru the sewer system! well done to the creative writers :)

  • You all want to know something? Toby kinda reminds me of Adult Copper (The Fox and the Hound)

  • Ratigan is a rat! He is too evil and stubborn to admit it.

  • @ltrainblume I MOST CERTAINLY AM NOT!!

    -Professor Ratigan.

(Just kidding. Yes, I agree with you. He's a rat. I trust you aren't offended by my joke. I just couldn't resist answering as Ratigan.)

  • @mcmptn It's okay. I knew right away that you were joking. One of my friends couldn't resist scaring me sometimes because I get surprised pretty easily. So that's why I knew that you were just joking. :D ;D

  • @ltrainblume I figured you knew. But with my luck, I'd write a harmless little comment (not really insulting or threatening anybody of course), and someone would take offense. So I always put little disclaimers every time I joke with somebody like that (unless they joke with me first.) :D

  • ill cal at 11:23

  • 3;54 The little rat looking thing just got ate. Damn nature, you scary.

  • those toys are so goddamn creepy

  • how the hell did my cat come back to life?????

  • 9:15....the animator had never seen a crumpet in his life.

  • @RoseNoir90 Keep in mind it's a Cheese Crumpet and it might be intentional. But it might also be because it's an American studio? - Basil

  • @BasilTheDetective Most likely. Just looks like they thought 'a crumpet' was an English version of a muffin. Funny enough our 'english muffins' are nothing like American ones either. XD

  • @BasilTheDetective I actually found a recipe for cheese crumpets, and the finished product looked nothing like what they eat in the movie. By the way, could someone be so kind as to explain to me the difference between a "crumpet" and an "English muffin"? My cheese crumpets looked and tasted exactly like English muffins with cheese (but they were delicious).

  • @RoseNoir90 that could be what crumpets looked like in the victorian times

  • Isn't that Bill the lizard from Alice in Wonderland? I love it when Disney does that though when I was a kid I used to wonder if the animators were just too lazy to draw new characters!

  • Ratigan loves pink.

  • Now that I'm older I learned that the original actor for Sherlock Holmes movies was Basil Rathbone. Nice one, Disney :)

  • @DixielandAngel

Eve Titus, who wrote the original Basil of Baker Street books that this movie was based on, should get credit for that little in-joke.

  • "The question is.. what would he want with a toy maker?"

    Me: hoooooo boy, wouldn't you want to know the answer to that one, would you D;

    /sexual tension/

  • damn that cat's fatter than mine

  • The part when the rat rang the bell, i wish i was there to say "Aww aint that a bitch"

  • I love that Holmes and Watson live upstairs! (:

  • Toys have never looked so scary

  • ...He's mad!

  • To Ratigan, the world's greatest RAT!!

(Or did I post that comment already? Oh well. If I posted it already, we'll just say I insulted him twice. If I didn't post it already, it's about time I did.)

  • Hey, it's Bill the Lizard from Alice in Wonderland! I guess he got bored with sweeping chimneys!

  • @CPCoulterTweedles hahahahaha i just noticed that.,..

  • That cat shouldn't be able to move, it's so obese...

  • Sherlock Holmes= Basil. My world is complete :)

  • Tobay

  • Heheh in Ireland rattigan would be a hero......jk

  • It's a good thing that mouse was drunk, as he didn't die scared.

  • what is that with all the pins at @1:59?

  • @neilyoungboy Voodoo or something like that. Ratigan thinks if he sticks the effigy of Basil with enough pins in the right places, the real Basil will suffer.

  • I remembered Vincent Price was really good at singing for this film. R.I..P Vincent Price.

  • What did Fidget remove from those toys that he needed from his list? Gears, or tools?

  • The only Tobys I've ever known were animals. Hm.

  • @TheBeatlesRoooock How about Toby Keith?

  • to ratigan the world's greatest RAT!!!.lol i can say that,i'm human so a cat can't eat me.

  • @FightsRightsAlways I'd say it even if I were a rodent^^

  • @mcmptn lol i know right,HE'S A RAT.why does that get his panties in a bunch??

  • @FightsRightsAlways Exactly! lol

1.) He really is stereotypical savage like rats are said to be.

2.)That being, proudly proclaiming himself to be a rat would make others fear him more, giving him that much more power over them

3.) If he didn't believe #1, he could claim to be disproving the stereotype

4.) Rats are actually pretty nice

5.) He should be proud of his rathood

  • @mcmptn lol even with ALL OF THAT BEING SAID..he will still have his overweight cat eat you.

  • @FightsRightsAlways lol That's true. I can't allow myself to be eaten, can I? Then I couldn't mouth off anymore.

    Hold on a second:

Toby! (whistles) Here, boy!.....Oh, there you are! Sit!.....Good boy!

Now let's see. Where were we?....Oh, yes. I remember: HERE KITTY, KITTY, KITTY! (Hey, Ratigan! Where's your bell? I'll ring it myself for this one!)

  • @mcmptn lol yeah...if basil can make friend with toby the dog, then other mice can do the same thing.keep a dog around and you won't have to fear ratigan the RAT.

  • @FightsRightsAlways lol Basil got lucky. My dog attacks mice. Even without a dog, you still don't have to fear the RAT:

1.) Outrun Felicia. She moves fast when chased, but she probably wouldn't go very fast just to catch a rodent.

2.) Steal Ratigan's bell. Basil's proven it is possible.

3.) If caught by Ratigan on YouTube, pretend to be Felicia

4.) If caught by Felicia on YouTube, pretend to be Ratigan

5.) Cover yourself with something a cat wouldn't want to eat. (Just bathe later.)

  • @mcmptn lol yeah and if push comes to shove, then you should just kick that fat cat in the face.

  • @FightsRightsAlways lol Right. You wouldn't even have to kick it very hard. The cat's a bully: she just eats people who are afraid of her. Ratigan isn't afraid (since it's his pet) and despite many confrontations with Ratigan, Basil doesn't seem to have had much of a problem with Felicia. It's more a power thing: show (or pretend really well) that you have more power than the cat, and you're fine.

  • When you know the truth goodside of rats, than you know that the story writers should've made Ratigan the goodguy! :)

  • Hey Basil, why is Bill the Lizzard working for Ratigan?

  • @sakonaga1 May I answer in Basil's place?

Times are hard economically in wonderland, poor Bill had to outsource for employment as a result.

  • @gbindahouse94 And Alice's sneeze was so powerful that when Bill was shot up the chimney he landed in London.

  • @richardworthtucker He died. :( The End!

    - Basil

  • @richardworthtucker ....you're kidding right?

  • @richardworthtucker The cat spit him out at the last possible moment, and he ran away, vowing never again to drink excessive amounts of champagne. He became a rich executive and currently lives in Miami.

I'm joking. I trust you are not offended by my sarcasm. I mean no offense.

  • No offense, Basil, but if it were me, I would have waited until I was on Toby's back before telling him to "Sic 'em!"

  • anyone else notice that Ratigan's voice is the same from Zig-zag from the Theif and the Cobbler? if you like this movie, I recommend the thief and the cobbler!

  • Amazing! For once we have a villian who plays something other than the pipe organ.

Also, all those dolls in the toy shop look like they want to eat me. No sleep tonight.

  • poor guy, at least he went out drunk & oblivious to his doom!

  • @richardworthtucker "someone has taken the liberty of removing the mechanisms from these toys."
