That final lap of Le Mans is to me the most triumphant and exciting sight in motorsports. I can only imagine all the emotions that the drivers and pit crew of the winning team feel as the drivers bring it home in that last lap.

It was in this era but the sight of an ugly, open top diesel Audi or Pescarolo just fails to get my blood stired for some reason.

It's FAR from just being all about what the drivers are feeling! What about us spectators?!

I really think the 80's and 90's Le Mans racers were THE sexiest and most exciting race cars the world has ever witnessed.

The cars (and even the circuit itself) nowadays are seriously lacking something that this era had about it.

Definately in agreement. In fact, I haven't watched a live Le Mans race in years. I'm happier viewing old footage like this. For me, it is the Group 5 and Group C years that really got me hooked.

there is the toyota minolta in some of the shots

its a very hard to find anything about that car and any videos even harder!

I think its a Toyota TS010 (previous model of the TS020 "GT-One")

actually was the toyota 90cv, the ts010 was used in 92 I think

Since LeMans use public roads, they do not do a victory lap, beacause it will take more than 10 minutes to do it and they want to open the roads as soon as possible for the public.
