@AmJustJessie you probably have a tethered jailbreak.

if you jailbroke with redsn0w you probably do. you need to open redsn0w and under "other", select "just boot tethered". that probably will solve it

did u get it fixed yet? Try holding down the home button and power button for 10 sec. and c if that resets it. If that doesn't work try plugging it into itunes and c if that will work. You might have to restore it. If that doesn't work and u have not jailbroken it call either at&t or apple and get it replaced. You have a 1 year warrenty unless u jailbroke it.

same thing has happend to my iphone 3G 16g 3.0.1 firmwear. I press the power button and nothing happens, i press the power button and the home button for 5 or so sec, nothing happens. I place the power cord in the iphone, press the power button and the apple logo pops up for about 5 sec then slowly fades away and can still see the imprint of the logo. I then hold power button and home button while plugging the outlet...nothing happens. Batter is new got it off ebay. HELP!!!!!
