I was terrible with my perks at the start too. I'm a battle-Mage sneak and I've got perks all over the place that I never use. Don't put too many perks into lock picking like I did, it's really not worth it, especially once you get the skeleton key. Lockpicks are everywhere and don't weigh anything, and if you do run out and play on pc, all you have to do us open the console and type player.additem A and the number you want.

The way he's distributing his skills, he'll need to set it to novice mode again. I've never spent a single point on pickpocket, lockpick, or alchemy. Waste of skill points. I can pick master locks without any perks. Why is that even a selection choice? The treasures are never good anyways. <_<
