@KatherineJane001 In all due respect to you I've heard Karen singing from practically a baby & I remember everything clearly probably from 1973-74 until the very end. Your voice isen't even close to Karen's, but you are a great singer because you have your own unique voice. Keep practicing & I'm sure you'll reach all your goals as Karen did. If you can dream it, you can do it. Gemma Johnson is the closes I've heard in the recent 29 years closes to Karen's range. I say be yourselves. Good Luck!

I still remember the little girl in the store two years ago by the CD section telling me that she is going to go see the Carpenters because they are her favorite group as she flashed the CD around. Her Mom being maybe 30 years old didn't know the Carpenters story. I gently explained to the Mom about Karen, who would have to explain this to her daughter later. Early on The Carpenters version of Help opened the concerts & then certainly most fans are familiar with Superstar open the concerts later.Superstar was a bear of a song to sing & in reality Karen would have rather opened the show with For all we know with a little bit of extra instrumentation in the beginning to get through the bow for the audience,but Superstar had the long instumental opening & it worked. Alot of these shows mishandled them,but Andy Williams show was pure class & a joy to do.

To Respond to an earlier comment. Randy Schmidt & I are all good as far as I'm concerned, we can be friends, I could actually add many chapters to the book (Little Girl Blue) HOWEVER, that's really the only area we differ, if I didn't get blessings from RC to do a book I wouldn't. That's just me. We all share the Love for Karen, in different ways, some as fans, some as friends, & some as family & I would like to believe Randy does as well. Little Girl Blue is 100% accurate no question about it!

I have often mentioned that Karen was (& is) to this day the most Beautiful & Angelic person I have ever seen, you knew when she was in a room, HOWEVER, I certainly didn't look at Karen in the way other men would. Karen was a Northeast Girl, she DIDN'T Like the whole LA thing at all. She was outgoing & happy, but to go out in front of all those people every night was frightening. Agnes Carpenter was a great mother who Love her children very much, she was protective no doubt, but a super Lady!

I remember this song very well when I was a toddler and when I hear this song now, it only brings beautiful and innocent memories.  It was shocking and very unfortunate to find out that Karen has been dead for so long. These young and talented brothers will always remind us the way that we used to be in our early years. They indeed introduced me to the taste of LOVE through their music and at such early age, that still is and it will remain with me for as long as I can remember. I love them.
