Tried to give you a video answer, however - Dunno if you'll accept it... I've listened to a lot of guys doin' this. I'd say you pretty much nailed it :) I've chosen a different approach. Hope you like it... // Tony
You know what? Damn you. Damn you for listening to great music and being able to play it with perfection... xD I say "Thin Lizzy" and kids my age go "wha?" Buncha tards...
I still have to give "wah" a try in order to play this, but is that "Total Guitar" tab online somewhere by chance?
Yep, I got one. '09. Special ordered 'cause the one hanging up in GC was an '03 and in less than new condition. I hardly play my Standard after getting this one. Man the tone is nice through my 2104. . I'll have to post something so you can check it out. Cool song by the way, I use to do it in my old band.
Hey, its a Gibson Les Paul Custom. I believe the white ones are discontinued now, they are cool though, especially when they start to age and go yellow.
the idea behind it is simple but the reality is a little harder, its just a case of listening to what the person is playing and then finding that note, or chord on the fretboard and playing it - its made easier by watching people on youtube because you can see where there fingers are. good luck - its a long road, but worth it
Hey, amp is nothing special-its just a good old peavey bandit with the original speakers, obviously theres a wah wah pedal too in that sound which is a dunlop crybaby. Theres also a fair bet of reverb on that sound too.
whoever thinks gary moore invented THIS solo must be on drugs...gary moore was involved in the original slow version of this song then when robbo arrived into thin lizzy they created this more uptempo(much better) version and robbo came up with this masterpiece
Brian Robertson had an amazing melodic style and sound, and thats the best copy of that solo I have ever heard. Fantastic playing and sound. Have you a version of Robo's still in love....
I have one. PM me your email and I'll send you it and a few others like whiskey in the jar, the boys are back in town, cowboy song, still in love with you studio and live backing and a few more.
Mate , did you use tabs for this magnificent cover , if so please let me know where from :)

Thanks. I think you can still get Alpine Whites. Well, you could in 2003, so I don't see why not now.

any one no were i can get a les paul pritty cheap please any websites
mong1995 2 years ago
Lol. No. You just simply can't. It has to be from someone, an actual person who wants to sell. They just go at such high prices from shops.

Very good job!.
Keep learning Lizzy and you'll do well!!Today's music(most of it is crap with no guitar soloing which sucks!).
Britdrumphil 4 years ago
All rock music today is just heavy distortion with 1 ok 15 second solo. They don't make guitarists like Page, Slash, Clapton, or Young anymore.

I've heard it said that Gary Moore wrote this solo, but Robbo was the one who ended up playing it on the recording.
Whoever wrote it, it's a bloody good solo!
dougskullery 4 years ago
Really?! It dosnt sound like Gary's style whereas its got classic Robbo trademarks all over it so id still guess its his solo
