The 1980's, Music kicked ass, had a message in every song, bands actually had technical ability and raw talent, Then came the 90's and music has sucked the big ass ever since. Long live the 80's!!!!
@Sidewinder9877 Hold on.... what is all this "the 80's music was the best?" There were some good bands, but there was a bunch of crap too.Remember New Wave, Pop, ABBA, Poison, Europe, etc... there was plenty of bad stuff on the radio.
@Sidewinder9877 Europe's "The Final Countdown" and Poison's entire collection of music are pure crap. Why is there so much hate on "alternative" Music? Nirvana gave the rock world a much needed slap across the face. Alternative blew up b/c groups like Poison ruined hard rock. So many late 80's early 90's rock groups had shake and bake tunes, power ballads, too much Neon Spandex and big hair.
Also I would like to see Nirvana's former guitar player go head to head with Michael Schenker or George Lynch. He would get blown off the stage. Because those guys have actual talent and can play all their stuff heard on albums live and not miss a beat. The 80's bands all had real talent. Anybody can make noise on the guitar. It takes real talent to actually play it. Hell none of these alternative bands have enough talent to actually play a guitar solo anymore.
@TVfanfanatic And lastly, the 80's bands actually had songs with rhythm and their lyrics made sense (unlike Nirvana which was just pure noise and had "lyrics" that made about as much sense as a screen door on a submarine.) You call Poison and Europes music crap but praising a band that sounds like a bunch of 12 year olds who just started playing their instruments better? Sorry but theres no talent in just making noise on the guitar.
@Sidewinder9877 Couldn't agree more. Even the vanilla corporate bands from the late 80's like Poison actually knew how to write songs and play complex riffs and chords. Nirvana and alot of the other alternative bands repeated the same few basic chords and Cobain was the laziest most monotone singer around.
You say jonas brothers, i say The Rolling Stones

I like so many of you agree that after 1989 everything that was great disapeared. Can you believe Great White playing a very small town fair in the street this year? Just cant believe all this great stuff is gone. How can music companies not get it that there is a huge need for this type of music to make a comback. There isnt one company willing to take the chance no one else will and do something different and see what will happen?? There is money to be made, any of you listening???
@80srockforever666 I agree with you 110%. after the 80's, music went, well, nowhere. There is no more talent in music. Hell, they don't even play their own instruments anymore. It's all pre-recorded, pre-mixed, CRAP. They find a pretty face, boy or girl, some bozo slaps some cheesy lyrics comprised of a few words together, get some dance instructor to put together ridiculous dance routines, and they market them as the hottest thing to hit the music world. Yes, they SHOULD be listening to you.
@80srockforever666 There were a few good bands after 1989, but not many: Collective Soul, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana. Definitely by the mid 90s, the slide began.
@80srockforever666 ok, i like this music quite a bit as well, but lots of money to be made? I think you may be going just a bit to far, i mean, look at the total hits on this video, 258k? Thats not a 'huge' need.
All that said, I love this song, and Schenker's guitar solo and riff, simple, but great!
@geocline Just 'cuz there is only 258k view for this vid, it's not a good idication. These guys were definetly one of the less successful of this genre. No indication of talent, just the facts. There are definitely millions of fans of 80's metal that are waiting for comebacks of old artists and for new bands to rediscover what I think is the best period in Rock history!!
@80srockforever666 -- you are more right then most might ever know... I agree with you 100 percent. I used to play guitar to this song over and over as a kid.. along with many others.
@80srockforever666 Takes money lots of it to make money and push a new band with this sound, its just not there, lots of 80s rockers just are out to take money from the young ppl trying to do it. I know first hand with XYZ. Keep supporting. Im still doing what i need to for the return. Just hope it gets everyone that is wanting it.
@80srockforever666 everything that was great DIDN'T disappear in 1989. winger released "easy come, easy go" in 1990, and it was one of the greatest glam rock songs of all time. (it peaked at number forty one on the charts in the united states.) glam rock COULD make a comeback some year, but it would have to be "disguised" as something else. as something along the lines of "glam/grunge" or "alternaglam." but a straightforward revival of glam rock would probably only attract a small following.
@80srockforever666 i can well imagine great white playing a small town fair. they're probably grateful for the gig. since the station nightclub fire, which certainly damaged their reputation, i'm sure they're grateful to be playing anywhere. (grateful for still being alive as well as grateful for having any kind of career at all.)
man what happened to music ? All this new auto tune and sampling is pure shit compared to real musicianship like MSG, Dokken, Van Halen, Scorpions, etc....
Why even let the other guy solo... Scheker has a timeless style, while the other dude is your standard 80s hammer/pull off guy... boring. I never could figure out why Schenker would have shared his space.
@zapwatt Zap, your opinion is your opinion and that's fine. I would just point out that the simulated baby talk is no better than what was said to you, but more to the point, why would you bother to come here and comment if you don't like it?
@jtoms3 "why would you bother to come here and comment if you don't like it?"
Great question!!!! The answer is: objectivity. If the only purpose for leaving comments is to heap praise, then what is the real point? Where is the genuine expression? I searched for some MSG videos and I left a comment on this one. My comment was an expression of how I really feel, what I really think. Like I said, if comments were only to be agreeable then they would be hollow and meaningless.
@zapwatt Fair enough. However, if your original comment would have been as well explained as that one, then I doubt anyone could have said you needed to "grow up". But surely you can see where some would not consider "This sucks" as legitimate criticism.
Monstrous - and timeless - production values on this album by none other than mastermind Andy Johns, engineer on almost all the Led Zeppelin albums. Also produced/eng Cinderella, Satriani, VH albums of the same era. Signature huge drums and wide-open sound. Doesn't get any better! Makes the most out of any stereo system! :-)
@punksachoo Most recent is Chickenfoot - Hagar's band with Satriani and Michael Anthony. Eng. on Godsmack's 4th in '06. I'm not a big fan of the follow-up to this album. Really dig the early MSG tho.
hey do you like your own music, then keep your own ear,get to the gear ,and catch up music,Ok. shit head.

@80srockforever666 -- you are more right then most might ever know... I agree with you 100 percent. I used to play guitar to this song over and over as a kid.. along with many others.
2 fingers up with 2 finger gap... Metal Horns...

@80srockforever666 i totally agree... the music now a day is ok but nothing compares to the '80's we as the people need to bring this back

Trust me: It's not "love" in the truest sense of the word Robin is singing about in this melodic hard-rock masterpiece. ; )
TyrannosaurusKrys 1 year ago
man what happened to music ? All this new auto tune and sampling is pure shit compared to real musicianship like MSG, Dokken, Van Halen, Scorpions, etc....

That was a nice rock song, rock as it used to be, not the grunge rubbish or the pretenders of today.

His voice reminds me of Ace Frehley.

Robin McAulay definetely, one of the 'elite' singers of the eighties!

Why even let the other guy solo... Scheker has a timeless style, while the other dude is your standard 80s hammer/pull off guy... boring. I never could figure out why Schenker would have shared his space.

Awww, so cute, some middle-aged, has-been, butt-rocker got his widdle feewings hurt 'cause I insulted his favorite powerballard group.
zapwatt 1 year ago
@zapwatt Zap, your opinion is your opinion and that's fine. I would just point out that the simulated baby talk is no better than what was said to you, but more to the point, why would you bother to come here and comment if you don't like it?
jtoms3 1 year ago
@jtoms3 "why would you bother to come here and comment if you don't like it?"
Great question!!!! The answer is: objectivity. If the only purpose for leaving comments is to heap praise, then what is the real point? Where is the genuine expression? I searched for some MSG videos and I left a comment on this one. My comment was an expression of how I really feel, what I really think. Like I said, if comments were only to be agreeable then they would be hollow and meaningless.
zapwatt 1 year ago
@zapwatt Fair enough. However, if your original comment would have been as well explained as that one, then I doubt anyone could have said you needed to "grow up". But surely you can see where some would not consider "This sucks" as legitimate criticism.
jtoms3 1 year ago
@jtoms3 You might be right. I think my original comment pretty much spoke for itself though. The ultimate in opinion and brevity.

@arctics4
What's Andy Johns up to at the minute?
Love this track, got it on a 12" single.
It's the only MSG record I've got.
Istheir other stuff worth buying?
punksachoo 1 year ago
@punksachoo Most recent is Chickenfoot - Hagar's band with Satriani and Michael Anthony. Eng. on Godsmack's 4th in '06. I'm not a big fan of the follow-up to this album. Really dig the early MSG tho.
