Christianity and the Church has done so much to Norway. Norway should never become a Christian country, and the way it became christian is horrible. They've burned down so many historic buildings from before year 1000, so I think that every norwegian owes them a burned down church or two.
But burning churches just makes us just as worse than them. There's better, more effective ways of making Norway an unchristian country again.

I live here, and almost everybody I know is a member, even though they're not really christian, they just want to keep the tradition or just doesn't bother. You can easily wear an "upsidedown-cross" here without getting hated. To me, it seems like the country is somehow unchristianising itself now.

Christianity came to Norway with the vikings and something so old and beautiful as some of the churces in Norway/Scandinavia should not be destroyed. I don't believe in God, but I see churces as beautiful buildings instead of buildings where you can pray and sometimes judge other peoples believes. For me and many other non-believers churchburnings is wrong just because it's such an old tradition that shouldn't be disrespected in any way.

The early Norwegian scene was pretty screwed up in the things that they did to get attention. It was really nothing more than a more extreme version of the 70s British punk movement, with a bunch of disillusioned young people rebelling in an effort to give meaning to their lives. The music was good though, and only got better as the scenes matured
If people insist on explaining any form of rebellion/anti social behaviour/sub culture in the same tired ways, the message that particular group was attempting to convey will be lost. The reasons why many members of the black metal scene became part of it, or the actions of a select few of them, shouldn't overshadow their ideological standpoint.

When the middle-east is in Europe and every country is 90% american (music, food etc.), we need to remember where we came from and who we are. Not only Norway, but every single country in the world.

Where does is stand anything about me having a problem with america or islam? If you've lived in a big city anywhere in Europe you'd see that 90% of all the stores there are american and a big amount of the population is islam. That's just facts and I haven't said a shit about my opinion about that.

There was never really anything to rebel against in Norway. Norway isn't exactly Sudan, Kosovo or Somalia, these teenagers were just bored of life, bored of living in a comparative utopia and that is why they wanted to shake things up a bit.

Christianity came to Norway with the vikings and something so old and beautiful as some of the churces in Norway/Scandinavia should not be destroyed. I don't believe in God, but I see churces as beautiful buildings instead of buildings where you can pray and sometimes judge other peoples believes. For me and many other non-believers churchburnings is wrong just because it's such an old tradition that shouldn't be disrespected in any way.

The vikings and the "Asatro" existed in Norway/Sweden already. But the "Asatro" disappeared with the coming of christians, which is why some people see christianity as something which needs to be destroyed.
I don't agree with the churchburnings, but I do understand them abit...

this is not about growing up. you are right in the point about a lot of bored young boys that saw this as an excuse to do something against society. but still. christianity has nothing to do in scandinavia, it is no different from judaism and islam. same mythology same basic beliefs. and our own pagan culture is much better and has evolved since the stone age or even longer ago. christianity is a political tool made by decadent roman leaders to fool stupid people and to obey blind submission

the islamic immigrants are a big problem too yes. but people already hate them. and so long we dont mix they dont do a threat other than raping/stealing/beating people. but that is not things that will destroy us fundamentally over time like christianity will.

No no, you have to open your mind even further and see the bigger picture, has Christendom really made Scandinavia as BAD as you say it is?? Look at Norway for example, hundreds of years of Christendom and yet they have the world's highest standard of living as does Sweden. Now think about when Denmark becomes Islammic, all the aspirations of the people, all the freedom, all the free speech will be killed off and destroyed forever..you won't even be able to utter the word ''pagan'' again.

The early Norwegian scene was pretty screwed up in the things that they did to get attention. It was really nothing more than a more extreme version of the 70s British punk movement, with a bunch of disillusioned young people rebelling in an effort to give meaning to their lives. The music was good though, and only got better as the scenes matured

If people insist on explaining any form of rebellion/anti social behaviour/sub culture in the same tired ways, the message that particular group was attempting to convey will be lost. The reasons why many members of the black metal scene became part of it, or the actions of a select few of them, shouldn't overshadow their ideological standpoint.
