My dad's older brother was a big hunter and he took my dad out hunting many times along with his favorite Meimaramer named Doc. When my dad's brother pasted away my dad got his dog named Doc. My dad built Doc a pen but Doc was not used to staying in a pen. So he excaped many times. We walked the one miles to elementray school back then and Doc exceped his pen and followed us. When he saw us he ran across the hiway and a coke truck hit him a killed him. Such a beautifull lovable kind dog was gone

I have two! Truly amazing dogs, so loyal but the only down side is they are ever so naughty and need ALOT of exercise! Apart from that I really really recomend them :)

They are all best buds, we live in the country so they ALL go hunting, running, expolring everyday!! Plus this is all in the pst two years since I had my baby, and I quit my job! Lifes good devoting it to my kids and my dogs! Not the usual stay at home mum!

Weimaraner's are seriously the most human like dog ever. I swear, he sits just like me sometimes, legs in front of him. He lays like a human. thinks like a human. When he was a puppy he acted like a little boy when i would leave him for school and he'd do anything to get me to stay home. Take my shoes, guard the door, grab my legs. Its so funny.

these dogs, unless the owner dedicates hours to it, develop really bad attitudes and have a very timid nature. We had one come into our vet clinic where the owner pretty much did not train him and omg.... was he horrible to examine and trim its nails.

I'd call a Weimeraner a large dog, not medium. I'd call a Border Collie a medium sized dog. This dog is a lot larger. At least the ones I've seen. Also not all of them are active. I know one that sleeps all day, and loves couches! They shed a lot. And become VERY attached to their owners.

There was a gorgeous Weimaraner hit outside my former church a couple years ago. I sat with her for along time, trying to comfort her while she cried with pain. It absolutely broke my heart. She was a beauty. She had escaped her owners, and you could tell they loved her. She was very clean, well-groomed, and fed. My bro-in-law called the number on her tag and the owners wept when he told them what had happened. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Weimaraners are such a lovely breed!

I've got one she's 6 or 7 years old. She's a great dog to say the least. When I come home from work she's sitting right in front of the entry way smiling happy to see me. I've never had any problems with her how ever I will say they aren't a good dog to leave in the back yard. They need daily interaction and attention with their families more then just a few hours a day. If you don't want to live with the dog and the dog be a part of your family look for another breed.
