  • @OurFightClub if you relax you can always control the situation soberly

  • Does anyone knows the name of the Documentary movie (war scenes dated 1995)? Please send me a message if you are acquainted with that movie! Thank you!

  • interesting the silat cekak system of Malaysia also believes in the natural stance of human being. check it out.

  • strong words

  • its quite challenging to do what saids especially in a physical confrontation its hard not to be angry. Everyday I try but still need practice.

  • I like what he said!! Most martial artists practice for beeing able to defend themselfes against other people..that's all good and fine! But it's even more important to fight your own fear which results in senseless aggression, shouting at people etc..If you are self confident and one with yourself, others will noctice that on a level of hidden awareness, so you will not be choosen as a victim anyway and you ll spread positive energy!

  • systema is good but i've seen a lot of fiction.

teachers pretend fight scenes to demonstrate the superiority of this martial art in a really stupid and typically eastern European!

  • @minimalista242 All martial arts demonstrations have this. There's no REAL attack by the uke. It's TRAINING that you see.

  • I try to follow his guidance.

  • well..what mr. Ryabko has said is russian mentality.we are open and kind people to EVERYONE who comes to us with peace and friendship.we RESPECT opponents.nothing else here has been said

  • dimitri are u just trying to act samrt wif all those facts ur typing out

  • very interesting.

  • Strong emotions cloud judgment & awareness and are liable to to get a person injured or worse.

All strong emotion create a form of stress or tension in the body which in turn limit sensitivity , movement & mobility.

  • Has Mikhail never heard of Shell-Shock? 1:35 the soldotya clearly exemplifies characteristics of battle fatigue. Well, at least according to 99.99% of behavioral and clinical psychologists. On the contrary, I could be mistaken, perhaps it's the ingenuous evocation of heavy exposure to combat that illuminates true human spirituality and closeness to God. Ha!

  • uuuuhhhmmm I think he is saying that things like battle fatigue and high stress reveal the true person....eh he is also standing on a mat that 100 % of scientists call blue.

  • True indeed. We call that a Dojo mat, it's common among other Martial Arts like Karate, Tae Kwon Doe (you know, where children break boards and earn belts), and even the Yogic Arts. Martial Arts you do WITH somebody; Combatives you do TO or ON somebody. This is what differentiates fantasy from reality. Take some college-level classes on physiology, psychology, anthropology, et al. They'll titillate your intellect and give you a better understanding of humanity.

  • so in this mystical "combatives" class do you beat people up every class? I would guess you do since anything else would be fantasy....please show some of these classes! Perhaps a class is something you do "WITH" people...hmm what do you call it then? Practice? No because practice isn't reality is it? You couldn't practice "TO" somebody? Very fascinating indeed! Thanks for the laughs

  • @recshooter lol good point. I'm amazed that someone who studies martial arts would be as narrow minded as dmitrikonovich123

  • That is what I refer to battle field Psychology Mikhail hits this on the head. Battle stripes you of any misconceptions of reality.

  • Dmitri. You like push-button game as opposed to 'natural' game it seems. Your judgement on 'method' is not to be trusted.

  • i like mikhail a lot- the words he says are wise and ring true for me- save for one thing. i believe human beings are no better or worse than animals, to be a true warrior i don't know if it is best to embody the animal spirit, or the human spirit- to me they are the same.

  • "human beings are no better or worse than animals"

That's a sad thought to me.

It would be impossible to understand the depth of what he is saying here without understanding the difference

  • the difference between a human animal is the same as the difference between a monkey and a dolphin, and a cockaroach from a lion. we are only different in that we are a different type of animal. i think it would be near impossible to understand the depth of what he is saying regardless of my beliefs.

  • Yes I understand what you believe. I wasn't trying to be insulting in anyway. If you don't believe the spiritual aspect of where he is coming from as a Christian, believing man to be set apart from animals, I don't see how this speech would have much depth for you. If it does that's great.

  • 5 Stars. Very important words spoken here!

  • his object is to not hurt anyone , rather to stop or subdue someone from hurting him and that is what he is teaching us .

  • LOL Look at Fedor Emelianenko face! Always calm and kind! The strongest man on the planet!

  • True indeed. Ask Fedor how he feels about unaggressive, stanceless, expressionless fighting lmao.

  • I did hear Fedor, or one of his trainers, say that Fedor keeps that bland expressionless look to prevent adrenal dump.

As for "stanceless", systema is more concerned with real life situations. You are trying to compare apples and oranges. If someone tries to sucker punch you walking down the street what stance are you in? If you get into a verbal confrontation do you immediately start bobbing around in a Muay Thai stance? If it escalates do you take 3 minutes jabbing to feel your opponent out?

  • I'm a combatist, not a martial artist. The application of MA (Systema included) in street and combat is impractical and unrealistic. As for the unlikely, unprovoked occurrance of being sucker-punched on the street: If he or she catches you off-guard and "sucker-punches" you -- he or she will. The only pre-emptive measure to confrontation is avoidance. I'm sorry, but I'm a former Systema practitioner and had predictable, misfortunate results. Systema preys on the ignorants for income.

  • I've had the opposite experience, I had taken traditional and the sport arts for years. Systema makes a ton of sense to me.

So if you get in a verbal confrontation on the street that might get physical do you leap into a stance?

  • Read the context above: I AM NOT A MARTIAL ARTIST. I disagree entirely with traditional and conventional fighting methodologies (i.e. Krav Maga, Systema, Kung Fu, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, etc.). Combatives --you can youtube this for compendious history-- is a reality-based fighting system comprised of simple, effective, and diabolically aggressive techniques that are easily recallable under duress. I've witnessed the inadequacies and fallacies of Systema first-hand.

  • Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if any of these things have worked in real life..why throw them out? So "combatives" doesn't use any of the methods or techniques of any other martial arts? hmmmmmm

  • Opinion? I think not. Opinion is the medium between knowledge and ignorance; ergo, I speak factually. Now with that aside, let's recapitulate once more: READ THE CONTEXT ABOVE. Where have I written that Combatives doesn't use orientally derived techniques? You speak of "real life.." as if you're well-versed in it -- highly doubtful. If Vlad is such an effective tactician, how come only 10% of OMON, Spetsnaz, KGB and GRU practice this great system??

  • i have over 20 years of martial arts trainings and 4 years of israel army. Systema not an art, it is more of life stile. Do not try to repeat motions, better study basicks such as body posture, breathing and relaxation, that what makes systema unique. I am teaching in Detroit right now and including Systema training in all my classes such as tactical shooting, crowd control, handcuffing....

  • That's an interesting statement, as most true martial arts are a life long deal... You could say "A way of life" or "lifestyle"

  • so you had "predictable" unfortunate results? That's like saying, I tried driving ones to go to work and wrapped my car around the tree.. therefore driving a car to work is impractical and unrealistic. Also don't argue with me because I speak only of facts and being authority on the subject, having to experience such an unfortunate event leads me to an absolutely conclusion of systema being useless. Therefore all car dealerships prey on ignorant for income.

  • You teacher martial arts? I'd like to learn from you. I'll be coming back to Canada (Toronto) in the summer for a couples of weeks. Are you around that way?

  • @dmitrikonovich123 Systema has disappointed you, but I wonder who was your systema teacher. I only trust a very few.

Also, you say that only 10% of spetsnaz were trained in systema, which is true. The reason is, systema needs for the practitioner to be of a very high quality, most people cannot achieve greatness in systema, they are little people. One has to be intellectually & spiritually evolved to understand systema. If systema doesn't work for you, maybe you're not a good fighter

  • @johnson2324

    jeh look at fedor

he looks always borred in a fight

  • lol

  • The subtleties are always lost in translation, but it was good enough to make sense.

  • NICE VIDEO. it's true. I can hear now that Ryabko said in russian language.

  • Do you think the translation is accurate?

  • the problem is that I don't know good meaning of english words. I'm not american person:( and don't live there. but... the translation made by girl which translate all ryabko videos and I think she is some kind of professional.

  • The Translation was said and done by Valerie Vasiliev, (Vladimir Vasilievs Wife, who is Russian) and so professional!

  • It was more or less accurate. A better job could have been done. With a larger vocabulary...etc.

  • The translation is really very good! But, if some one think he/she can do a better job, why not to post it here (better or just alternative)...

  • ryabko usually say horrible (mean tough) and she translate it like tough and so other things. but meaning can be catch I think.

The problem iis different meaning of similar words.

  • where did you take this vid? I want it in russian language.

  • Thank you for posting this. She did an ok job of translating this, however, it could have been better. What he said in Russian was deeper than the translator could explain.
