The property tax on land value is the only good tax because land value is created by the community as a whole and not by individual landowners. The solution good for homeowners while eliminating the need for destructive taxes like increased sales taxes is to slowly eliminate the property tax on improvements (confine it to homes if you must) and increase the tax on land values to make up the difference. Most homeowners would pay less while big land owners and corporations pay more. Check it out.
