  • Love this song!!! I really think it would be cool if John Fogerty did a cover back in the days of CCR too. I wish todays bands could play like this.

  • Paul's voice is unique!

  • too many times in the 50s/60s you had a bunch of white boys (so to speak) cover some real good songs and completely strip it of any emotion or intensity... safe to say that's definitely not the case here

  • The version on Anthology 1 is even better than this one

  • I don't say Elvis wasn't greatly influenced by black music.

I'm saying the Brit invasion made people take notice of "race" music. They brought it back to the white majority in a way Elvis couldn't. As an American he was inextricably entwined, like it or not, in that black/white divide. The Brits were not enmeshed in that... they just loved that music and implemented their own trans-atlantic take on it. White Americans would never have that liberty.

  • @MrStevecro soul :)?

  • @MrStevecro Little Richard does the best cover though.

  • Fuck this version, it's gay. And when I say it's gay, keep in mind that the original performer was Little Richard, and that the subject of the song is a creepy uncle blowing a tranny in the alley behind his house...

  • but original is original..

  • gotta give Little Richard the credit (it was his) but this version is still a top effort. The energy is palpable. The Beatles, like the Stones and others, liked and respected "black" music/musicians. Before they made these songs commonplace there was a whole other audience who would have never heard them. It was just labelled "race music".

The Brits made white Americans realise what talent they had on their own doorstep.

  • @MrStevecro

Ever hear of Elvis? You know, Elvis Presley? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big fan, but his music drew major attention to black musicians in America a decade before the Beatles...

  • @MrStevecro No, no Brits didn't do that at all, people like Malcom X and Martin Luther King did that.

    And Elvis wasn't race music.

  • the WUUUUUUUUU by Paul ♥

  • Paul and The Beatles are the Best Performers of this SONG. The Best !!! And then - Little Richard.

  • Little Richards is far better.

  • GONNA TELLL AINT MARRY!

  • i love the beatles.

  • Can't think which is better. Elvis Presley version or The Beatles?

  • I don't think it's messy, it's quite powerful. But it's a good thing they moved to their own material soon after this, on that I wil agree.

  • many have tried and none will ever be as close to great as Little Richard's version. This version sounds so messy...

  • i love the beatles. and the kinks did a version of this song, too (and I love the kinks) but i think i like little richard's original the best

  • Guys Listen to Cactus's version

  • I loved this song when I was 16 and I love now at 63 years old. Haha!

  • I don't get this song. Who the fuck is long tall Sally?

  • @leafyutube

Uncle John is banging her (she has everything he needs), and almost gets caught by Aunt Mary

  • guys come on!!! Paul voice has no equal!!!!!!!!, this is goooood!

  • If you don't like this, you don't live rock n roll, it's that simple. Awesome track!

  • Wolfman Jack was right in an interview back in the 1980s. Computers and Machines decide what the Music can be exposed on the Radio or to the World Public. Not necessarily what is the best New Music available in the World.

  • The biggest problem with the American and Global Music Industry for well over a Decade or More is the Damn Payola runs the Media viewing sources such as the Internet,Radio, and TV. Not what New Stuff that is best available in the World. There are a lot of Great Talented New Singers and Performformers who never get known to the World Public because they do not to have the People to allow them to get known to the World. The Global Music Industry dictates what souless depressing garbage should be

  • Every Kid should have manditory Education in all Schools, all Colleges, and all Universities on all Rock And Roll Singers from the 1950s,1960s,and Early 1970s. Elvis Presley,Bill Haley And The Comets,Chuck Berry,Jerry Lee Lewis,Buddy Holly,Carl Perkins,Johnny Cash,Little Richard,Bo Diddley,The Everly Brothers,Fats Domino,The Beatles,Etc should be the Main Performers every Child must have manditory Mathmatical and Historical back of their Head knowlege of from the time they are 6 years old until

  • I would say this is equal, not superior, to Little Richard's and Elvis', all of which are absolutely brilliant.

  • love little richards version but this one takes the pie

  • this and Elvis are real good versions but little Richard i think is clearly the best

  • the best paul mcartney fast sing!!!

  • No one does this song better than The Beatles.

  • they remind me of the inbetweeners in that pic

  • like it

  • I strongly doubt any of the beatles think their version is better than Little Richards. They dug that song and they wanted to make their take on it. Both are fantastic, quit being such polarizing fanatics.

  • @GranDrJ dude i ont mean to be a douche or anything but u sound like a dick if i ever meat u

  • @masterwatson13 i sound like a dick because i told people to stop bickering and just enjoy these fantastic songs?

  • little richard is better but both are great.

  • beatles > little richard!!! this is so good!!

  • I love both versions of this. Original and beatles. Paul's voice is so damn great.

  • lovelovelovelove

And I shake my head on both versions

  • They crapped over this music. Little Richard way way better...

  • @carlosmarrasca It's a shame little richard was not even 1% as good as these guys then

  • @carlosmarrasca You should see/read what Little Richard said about Paul's cover. Just pointing a fact.

  • Why is George nipple twisting himself?

  • Amazing Song, John Lennon knew what Rock 'n' Roll really was , just brilliant !

  • @obiwankenobi28 actually is Paul who's singing it :)

  • AMAZING

  • @tumadrewey123 wtf are you retarded no its not

  • @merceneri1 um yea it is thats why they sold more records face it they did it better and are better.

  • @tumadrewey123 ... my balls

  • @tumadrewey123

Everything they covered is better than the original, including Carl Perkins -he said so himself in "Go, Cat Go"

  • @randytoma Everything? Not this song obviously.

  • @tumadrewey123 No its not stfu you dont know good music..Im not hating on the Beatles what not but Long Tall Sally by Little Richard can never be compared to the Beatles Version

  • @tumadrewey123 Uh no, no....

  • Comment removed

  • @tumadrewey123 You can't be serious...

    That classic is unbeatable.

  • Little Richard is much better...

    LIttle Richard is more original

    Little Richard is an idol

  • @rinulome Little Richard is great and all but Paul fucking KILLS this song and made it completely his..in my opinion this is the greatest cover ever

  • @MrMojoRisin53 That's a great way to put it, I agree,.

  • and if youre saying little richard is better than the beatles, once again little richard is an idol and he is great and all but lets get real, the beatles are the most important musical act of all time

  • @rinulome little richard is good but he is not better than the beatles

  • @nleotta005 the people valorize too much THE BEATLES but existe other bands better than that....

  • wow. i first listened to this song in the movie planet 51, but I had no idea it was a beatles song. i feel stupid

  • @kartaegirl Its actually a Little Richard cover. Its made popular b/c of the first predator movie.

  • FUCKTOWN

  • Beatles are way better then Elvis

  • elvis is better

  • this is really rock and roll

  • This song is great!

  • Paul McCartney is a goddamn sexual tryannosaurus.

  • Es difícil de explicar, pero el rock and roll tiene una pasión incomparable!!

  • Uncle JOHN.... haha

  • Man been trying for ages and I still can't hit that high :(

  • They took that picture in Sweden. :)D

  • @Pakelsson åååå näj! buhu... D:

  • @huuusis Du gör nog rätt i att gråta minsan! efter som tyyyp ingen annan förstår så får man klämma in lite välbekanta ord ibland så dom blir mistänksamma såeeee the beatles. :9

  • @Pakelsson mmm the beatles, john lennon, sådär, nu förstår dem nog... inte... ._.

  • @huuusis Aw. :c Han hade väll inte det då.. :c Men någon i beatles måste ju haft det!!! annars blir man ledmulen.

  • @Pakelsson mm. ledmulen i högsta grad.

  • @huuusis Miiiiiinnsan!

  • the beatles are a shadow of little richard

  • Of course, Little Richard's version is great too and his voice is incredible, but Paul stacks up right next to him.

  • Look, race means nothing. Paul proves here that he's a true rocker. Little Richard was one of the most important figures in early rock but even he admits Paul outdid him here. Usually I go with the original over a cover but I have to break my rule here. Paul is the man. And everybody knows this version is the best.

  • wow this is not as good as Little Richard. Infact this kinda sucks.

  • @MrJovanovic91 not really.

  • Singing goes toe to toe with Little Richard's (although the original is more swaggering and less manic)...but I despise the fact that George and John are superimposing Chuck Berry-imitation riffs over the far more interesting (and, in my opinion, appropriate) sax solos from Little Richard's version.

  • One of the best rock'nroll ever ! in this song, Paul is better than the great Little Richard, and it's NOT FEW !!!!

  • the picture says its in mono but the video isnt. lol

  • @gaba1gabba1hey Little richard admitted himself that this version by far exceeds his. They are both wonderful versions, this one just has much more energy; and in Rock n Roll, that's how you show your soul, through the energy you put out. Just because a white guy sings it does not make it watered down. Music broke the racial boundaries decades ago, where the hell have you been?

  • Nobody likes remakes tho

  • not nearly as good as the original.

  • @gabba1gabba1hey Are you mad? This far outstrips the original

  • @CommieCotch no, it definitely does not.

its a watered down tame version of a REAL rock and roll song that actually had soul.

  • @gabba1gabba1hey You think this is tame? Little Richard's is far tamer than this, this is pulsating, urgent and exuberant. Little Richard's is much more soothing and relaxed

  • Why does George always have the cool coats? ;)

  • Paul's voice. Unff.

  • i love this song! ♥

  • @huuusis Ey Huuuuus!! Me to. :)D Ska ladda ner den nu. :DDD

  • @Pakelsson okej. undrar hur många som förstår vad vi pratar om :D

  • its brit, more calm

  • Lil richards was better :P

  • @comradethird Little Richard himself said he couldnt do it as good as Paul McCartney, and for that matter Paul did better than Elvis too.

  • Precious !

  • I personally think this is one of George's best solos

  • Paul rocks it in this song!! LOVE IT!!!

  • @Witendofi no way!

  • @aaxal elvis is the king

  • @spidercarnage786 ...you better not be talking about The Beatles!!!!!!!!!!

  • Some people like The Beatles' better, some people prefer Little Richard's. They're both amazing in their own way, so shut up and listen to the music...

    You slack-jawed faggots.

  • I'd like to see the beatles and lil richard do the song together, I personally believe sax solo>guitar solo for this tune.

  • I'd give a lot to see both the Beatles and Little Richard in their early days play this live. I don't care who is better, they all rocked hard. Nuff said.

  • @imdoubtful Wow, shut your fucking mouth you dumbshit mother fucker. I'll say whatever the fuck i want, and if you want to start getting hostile, then i'll get fucking hostile you limp-dicked fuckhead loser. Now go back to sucking your mothers clit you fucking waste dump shit stack.

  • @bud389 you need to learn how to talk shit to someone...that was pathetic....

  • @nickbaxter1992 lol, your speechless, figures since your an amateur.

  • Song is ok, but Little Richards is better.

  • Comment removed

  • The Beatles did this in ONE take. One.

The song last 2 minutes and that's exactly how long it took them to record this...from start to finish. Makes you laugh when you read about all the modern artists recording albums over 2 and 3 months.

  • @celt67 nothing really laughable about taking a couple months to record an album...er...um..'Sgt. Pepper'?

they probably played this song live over a thousand times and were a machine when this was recorded.

  • @celt67 It took Jimi Hendrix one night to finish the recordings for Band of Gypsys ;)

  • @willwelsh816 And the Beatles recorded their entire first album in 13 hours.

  • @celt67 Just goes to show that Live Bands know how to make a speedy recording lmao.

  • @celt67 because now they dont use real instruments and they autotune like crazy- BornInTheWrongDecade!!!

  • @kwatson101 So true.. (of course) i've heard all of there covers and then i listened to the originals and theres no comparison.. The Beatles make everything better!!!

  • There's no: "_____'s cover is better." Many people fail to comprehend that it's all a matter of OPINION.

  • @kwatson101 elvis tupelo 1956 I thought was the better version than all of them

  • Little Richard-The Original is better!

  • very cool song.! I like the way Paul sings it. people are being butts and saying it wasn't as good as the original version. but thats why they COVERED it they wanted to sing it because they loved the artist.! you gotta give what people want and they want rock and roll and they delivered. their happy we are happy god bless America.! peace.! :D

  • Oh Hell NO!!!! This don't sound better than Lil Richard's version

  • Nice channel name!

  • All the great rock and roll singers were the Beatles' heroes before they became the Fab Four. So most of their early songs are cover versions. When the world took notice, that's when they started to sing all their own compositions

  • Terrific

  • I actually kind of like this version of the song better.

  • they sang it horrible compared to original little richard white people stole black style when it came to rock and roll

  • The first song that Paul MacCartney sang in public was "Long Tall Sally" one of the anthem of rock history.

  • That is some key he is singing in right there.....

  • i think i just killed my eardrums listening to this on full blast, try it sometime :D

  • THANK GOG FOR my friend richard

  • 20 people had duck back in the alley...

  • Good, but no way near as good as the original :/

  • What is George doing in that picture? o3o

  • Comment removed

  • ALMOST BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL!
