It may be one of the most corny songs in existence ... but why not love it?? this may be sugar ray... but come on... its really weezer... and this is sort of weezers thing.. so... yeah... its absolutely fantastical!!
We have a looping muzak track at my work that we all can't stand. One day we all decided to try and pick out the most insipid, pointless, poorly written and halfassed song that best personifies what makes pop music so shitty and appealing to people with no taste.
This song won and none of us could figure out who it was but now I know. I mean really, how can you like this crap? 70% of the run time of the song is just the chorus.
@baserocklove Well, admittedly this is one of Sugar Ray's worst songs (in my opinion). But, this doesn't necessarily constitute pop music, because this was far from mainstream, like the rest of this album. If you want good Sugar Ray, Listen to their classics: Someday, Every Morning, Falls Apart.
@GenesisTree Damn true. The sad thing is that this song was originally recorded for Make Believe EXACTLY like this (with more sections) but they reworked it into the Raditude version. I pray some day we get the original.
@runnersdialzero33 sadly we won't hear the original, I watched the making of The greatest man 2 and Rivers said he will never ever go back to something that he written out for only a good reason.... look it up it's titled Greatest Man 2
@Th3DuTyofTpApE00 How do you mean? Raditude contained a number of older tracks - "Prettiest Girl" from 1997, "Love is the Answer" from 2004, "I Don't Want to Let You Go" from 2005, "Run Over by a Truck" from 2006, and "Let it All Hang Out" was partially written in 1999.
(AeroRanger10): Check that, I CAN wait! I just listened to the Weezer version and it's HORRIBLE!!! It doesn't even sound like the band! It's all of this pop-techno crap and this wierd Japanese singer! Sugar Ray does a way, way, WAY better job with this.
The song is terrible, but the singer on it's hindi, not Japanese. no idea why they went the direction they did with that one with all the indian influence, just sounded nothing like weezer.
umm...he actually did live in a hindi ashram in Connecticut "Cuomo was born in a Manhattan hospital to parents of Italian and German/English descent and raised on an ashram run by the late yoga master Sri Swami Satchidananda in Pomfret, Connecticut."
I'm as big as a Weezer fan as anyone could be but I prefer this version. The Bollywood-ish tunes jz isn't my thing

Can't wait to hear the Weezer version!
AeroRanger10 2 years ago 6
Yeah, this version is awful.
Sugar Ray was good when I was around 9.
Weezer's version should be good since it was written by Rivers. And because it's Weezer.
TravMeatwad 2 years ago
This version is far from awful, it's good actually

Meh, I'm not too impressed with the 30 second sample of Weezer's version.
Their new album seems disappointing except for two songs.
TravMeatwad 2 years ago
We've learned that, since Pinkerton, Rivers has the ability to disappoint on multiple levels...

just because he grew up in Connecticut doesn't mean he cannot be Hindi, toolish scrub

Congressman94, I really don't see the point in lying for absolutely no reason. Rivers is from Connecticut.

You probably should know Weezer handed Sugar Ray this song exactly the way it sounds.
