And while it is true that he had a majority in both houses, he had absolutely no support from Republicans despite bending over backwards trying to appease them. Also, he never had a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, something that had to be considered when proffering legislation. Many Progressives, like myself, would have liked to have seen him and the Democratic members of Congress forge on ahead rather than waste time trying to build bipartisanship with the naysayers on the right.

What he did do was to get a health care package passed which will reduce costs, provide care for those who otherwise could not have afforded it, moving us closer to affordable health care for all. In the future, when every American can be treated when they are ill, we will find it hard to imagine that there was a time when tens of millions of our citizens just had to do without. That day can't get here soon enough, when it does, we will have President Obama to thank.

And while it is true that he had a majority in both houses, he had absolutely no support from Republicans despite bending over backwards trying to appease them. Also, he never had a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, something that had to be considered when proffering legislation. Many Progressives, like myself, would have liked to have seen him and the Democratic members of Congress forge on ahead rather than waste time trying to build bipartisanship with the naysayers on the right.

What he did do was to get a health care package passed which will reduce costs, provide care for those who otherwise could not have afforded it, moving us closer to affordable health care for all. In the future, when every American can be treated when they are ill, we will find it hard to imagine that there was a time when tens of millions of our citizens just had to do without. That day can't get here soon enough, when it does, we will have President Obama to thank.

Someone should also mention how all the programs on change.gov that were supposed to be funded immediately on his being elected have not received a single penny.
Meanwhile many of these would have had massive benefits and stabilizing influence on the economy as well as the environment, but hey we cant promote anything that comes from the entrepreneurial ingenuity of the American people.

Democrats outnumbered Republicans for the last two years.. The latter behaved like a single-minded herd more interested in defeating Obama than running the country. Democrats were divided between progressives, so called moderates, and conservative blue dogs. The liberals, men like Anthony Weiner, Bernie Sanders, and Dennis Kucinich can hardly be said to have been in control of anything for the last two years.

I've been sucked in by people like Bill before. I agree with everything in the video but when 'his guy' gets power, Bill remains quiet (e.g. Bush repeatedly kissing the hands of the Saudis was even more demeaning than bowing). I then watch 'Bob' from the other side make the same kind of biased and blinkered video. The problem isn't Obama or Bush - it's the Bills and the Bobs, who spend their whole life slamming 'the other guy' and remain ignorant that they're both voting for the same prick.

Free speech is never a problem IMO - but selectively slamming the 'other side' when your own side has been as guilty, if not more, of the same vile lies is, at best, intellectually dishonest. Failing to slam those same lies when your side has the reins is THE hypocrisy virus within these brainwashed cheerleaders that ensures this shit continues no matter who's in office.
