If you're talking about 2:55-3:05, it only seems like he's kicking/pulling his legs up. When you're in the front view, it only seems that his calves are pulled all the way to his thighs. It's not. in fact, he moves his legs exactly like Haile Gebrselassie. They both have very efficient form (well they probably do considering their marathon times).
Running takes a lot of money and time (time =money). Double whammy.

recall coe would do a 20 miler at 4:30 per mi, but that was not a common session and he was not training to compete in a marathon
