  • I agree with Scottwax. I use megs pads as well as lake county and 3m. If the pads are cleaned correctly and often they last longer. I use porter cable 7424xp for compounding unless had to wet sand. and a makita rotary for swirl removing and polishing and then back to the porter for sealing or waxing depending on the job. products I use for compounding and polishing are 3m.For sealing and waxing are pinnacle, wolfgang, and swissvax including their crystal rock. Only the best for my customers.

  • get a flex xc 3401 vrg

  • @howdy1337 Why? I have a Dewalt 849 rotary if I need more power.

  • You sound identical to Zach Galifianakis

  • Great video man. I just have a few questions. I just recently got a hold of a '97 Toyota Camry. It has only been owned by one person and the car is in excellent shape. The only thing is the paint. Seeing as its 14 years old you can imagine how tired it looks. The paint is not in horrible shape I would rate it a 7 out of 10 the clear coat is in tact and there are no deep scratches. Do you think a DA is a good choice to revive paint that is tired looking but in good shape otherwise?

  • @Thegarmendia

Without seeing the car, it is impossible to say for sure how effective a DA polisher would be in restoring the finish. Odds are though, it would work well since Toyota paint from that time tends to be on the soft side.

  • lol my porter cable i got im using the pad that the factory provided and the foam is starting to desintergrat on the first run!! :/ is is cuz it a bad pad or its not moist?

  • @4jiggy1

The pad that comes with the Porter Cable is junk, you shouldn't have used it.

  • Meguiars products are very good. I like #81 #83 polishes, and #16 carnauba wax. The only thing I dislike about Meguiar's is that their "training" videos are not always correct and their "instructors" seem to be either the company executives--who'd look more comfortable on a golf course-- or some yahoos who read a few books, attended a company training seminar, but have no real world experience.

  • This guy is a god on Autopia.com. I do prefer Lake Country pads on my Porter Cable and Meguiar's on my DeWalt rotary.

  • @lizard944 autopia.org not .com

  • where the f*ck is your tape?

  • @MeguiarsInc Megs Pads suck arse!!!! LC, Chemical guys and the Vortex pads are the best pads! Megs is for amateurs and the results are not that great! Notice Megs videos are always using trickery like hairline scratches and bullchit scuffs they do themselves and buff off to make you think they are worth a chit!

  • @TTBlackOPS

Nothing wrong with Meguiars pads, they work as well as any other pads I've used and believe me, I've used them all. I'm not making a Meguiars video and I have no deal with them to make any. I use a wide variety of products, Optimum, Meguiars, Clearkote, 3M, Lake Country, American Buffing, Leather Master, BioKleen, etc. I'll put my paint corrections up against anyone else.

  • cant hear this guy....the polisher is too loud waste of time

  • You are an Idiot LOL, you probably cant polish a knob right! Put some product on that thing!

  • @TTBlackOPS Considering Scott is a professional detailer and does some amazing work. YOU are an idiot.

  • @snoboarder8232 What are you his ass clown? He cant answer for himself and he isn't that good. I have been doing it before you were born idiot and I net 6 figures so I must know something!

  • @TTBlackOPS Cool man. Maybe you can tell me what's wrong with his technique?

  • @tearscratch31 What are you talking about?

  • @Scottwax

somebody said that scottwax was a god on autopia.com but autopia.ORG is the right url. oh and by the way I tried ONR today and love it. thank you

  • why you keep on polishing? the wax looks dry already you need to put some to wet the surface so the paint will not damage

  • @hawmichael25 The surface was not dry and the polish was still wet. You won't get good results if you do one or two quick passes, you have to work the polish properly to get good results.

  • Nice paint! What year is the vehicle?

  • white pad not yellow pad...right? or is that just the camera?

  • Meguiars polishing pad (8006/8007) is YELLLOW. There is no industry-wide color standard for pads.

  • I ment the pad you are using...It looks to be a white pad but you stated that it was a yellow pad.

  • The pad is yellow. That is the color of Meguiars polishing pad.

  • Our polishing pads are superior to the pads produced by our competitors. We believe that our polishing pads (8006/8007) have more cutting abilities than the Lake Country cutting pads, but finish nicer than their finishing pads.
